Chez Marie French Bistro
Come enjoy great classics like Escargots, French Onion Soup, Duck à l’Orange or Chateaubriand, to name just a few, paired with a selection of French and American wines served by the glass or the bottle. Make sure you save a little room and try our decadent house-made desserts such as lavender-infused Crème Brûlée, warm Chocolate Fondant and Cointreau-flambé crêpe Suzette…
Remarkably authentic French cuisine.
From the pate, the escargot to the canard - all great.
Lovely place, international classy music creates an elegant mood, solid classic dishes, great wine specials.
We enjoyed our evening there. The food was very well-prepared & we will certainly return soon.
A place you really want to like but the service was bad. Took over half hour to get bread and then soup and salad. French onion soup was sweet and weird. Caesar dressing straight out of the big jar. Scallops were watery and tasteless. If you can’t sear scallops without balsamic vinegar that’s bad, and that was the excuse given as to why they were the fishiest grossest scallops ever. My husband smelled them from across the table. Sent them back and she still charged us for the dessert and salad. Wine was cheap. Tired of hearing kitchens are backed up and understaffed because owners don’t want to overpay staff during the off season. Food just wasn’t good. Sorry we wasted our dine rewards on it.
As indicated by the four stars we gave, everything about our dining experience was very good. One of the things we especially appreciated was that we were not rushed between courses. Only reason for not giving five stars is that we don’t give any restaurant the highest rating until we’ve been there at least twice so to be more sure of consistency. We will definitely be returning soon.
Welcoming staff and a very French menu make for great dining any day of the week. Not pretentious and relaxed pace of service
Lovely atmosphere and quaint surroundings. The offerings are appealing.
Always wonderful with a beautiful atmosphere and you can speak with out screaming
The food was awesome and authentic. Although the wine selection is not extensive, it is not overpriced. We chose the only merlot on the menu and we were not disappointed. I am looking forward to going again.
Had a lovely meal at chez Marie. Enjoyed their 3 course summer special. Everything was delicious specially the French onion soup and the chocolate mousse!!!!
The service was amazing the food glorious everything was amazing
Very nice place. Delicious scallops , duck , spinach and green beans. French onion soup excellent. Lovely owners.
Had an amazing time at Chez Marie. Food was excellent and good quality service. It was pretty reasonable prices. Live French singer in the background, it was a great experience. I was happy to eat really good food from my home country.
Service was slow, salad dressing was good as was dessert but the beef bourguignon tasted horrible. I took it out of the restaurant in a doggy bag and placed it in a trash receptacle outside. The food overall is way too expensive for me and I won’t be returning.
The service and food were wonderful. Classy! Attention to detail. Great place for a reunion. Thank you!
The cognac shrimp appetizer was great, but the Duck L'Orange was just ok. The duck itself wasn't seasoned nor the most tender, but the sauce was very flavorful. I had to ask for extra sauce to get through my meal. The service was amazing, from the host to the server and even the busser. My husband and I felt very welcomed. Go early at 5 p.m. to get happy hour for $1.90 wines and the pre-fixe menu is a great deal.
Once again a fabulous bistro meal. Wife’s chicken was perfect as was my Beef Bourguignon. They make probably the best French Fried in South Florida. A great meal.
This is one of the best restaurants in the Boca Delray area. Every meal I’ve ever had there has been nothing short of perfect. Marie herself is absolutely a class act and is so accommodating to her patrons. I highly recommend everything on the menu. I have had the duck, coq au vin, scallops and fish as entrees!!! The appetizers are equally delicious including the French onion soup, the shrimp flambé, the escargot and the Caesar salad. But let’s not forget the delicious desserts; the lavender crème brûlée, the Apple tartan with ice cream and the fabulous Chocolate Fondant warm from the oven!!!
As usual — WONDERFUL!!! We brought our own wine ($20 corkage — we knew that in advance) and they handled it expertly. It’s French cuisine brought to you by “Mom&Pop” and they make you feel right at home. And the food is yummy. And the Prix Fixe menu is an unbelievable bargain for the quality, choice, and quantity you get. We don’t get there often enough because it’s ~ 30 minutes away from our home by car. Dommage!
The salmon was dry and tasteless, should have had a down charge rather than an up charge. The soup - sour.
Food was excellent and so was the service. Summer special a great value. Marie made us feel welcome. We will return.
We found this hidden gem right in our neighborhood, and we felt as though we were on vacation in the south of France. The wait staff - and the owner - were welcoming and attentive. The menu was quite varied - everything from authentic French escargot and beef bourginon to scallops, fresh fish, and various chicken dishes, among many other choices. In the summer, they offer many different special "deals", like two-for-one glasses of wine, and a 3-course "taster menu" for $19. The portions were large, but be sure to save room for dessert... the lavender creme brulee was exquisite! We can't wait to go back!
Absolutely wonderful. Excellent food and ambience. Always an enjoyable evening. Highly recommend it.
Duck did not seem to be cooked by chef. It felt like pre packaged food. Expensive glass of French wine was tart and acidic, very harsh. The chef should cook the meals. You cannot cook a half duck in ten minutes. A Chef should not serve pre cooked meals. Especially in a fine dining restaurant. The only good thing I felt was the ambiance was very romantic with the French Music. I will not go there again.
Marie and her husband opened this restaurant 5 years ago. Marie is a lovely host, while her husband runs the kitchen. The restaurant is attractive without taking away from the food. The food is genuine homestyle French. The French onion soup was just as I remembered from France. If you like French food, you should try this restaurant.
Another delicious meal at Chez Marie. This is such a wonderful little fine and so conveniently located. Parking is never an issue. The French food is very, very authentic. They have the best coq au vin I've ever tried. Tonight I have the chocolate mousse for the first time and it was truly decadent.
Whole experience was wonderful, including the friendliness of the owner, Marie.
Too pricey , nothing special about the food, not that flavorful
We went for Mothers Day with another couple and found the experience very pleasant. The food was excellent and we were not rushed as frequently happens on holidays. The tomato soup with a drizzle of pesto was a standout dish and the desserts were amazing. We all enjoyed our entrees, particularly the seafood crepe. The staff was accommodating and attentive. We will definitely return.
Definitely will go back again.
Absolutely, wonderful experience. Marie is very personable and always wants her customers to have a wonderful experience.
Cow au vin disappointed as did tarragon chicken. Half the bread was warm. Fettuccine under coq au vin totally wrong. It needs something light such as angel hair pasta or rice.
We have been here often and recommended it last night to friends but the meals were
very ordinary and uninspired. The best compliment was about the baguettes in the bread basket.
Always the best!!
Authentic French cuisine with the flavors of that beautiful country! We had an amazing experience, the place is lovely and the service impeccable. The quality of the food was awesome. We’ll surely be coming back and we recommend this restaurant to people who are willing to taste the French specialties!
This small restaurant reminds me of my visits in Paris. Love the food and wine selections! The Branzino was outstanding and the goat salad with pear delicious. My husband I shared it as a starter.
This place was a very pleasant surprise. The food was very traditional french and well prepared and the service was excellent. We never felt pushed, but there was always someone there when needed.
Very important the restaurant was very quiet and we could have a nice conversation without having to shout to be heard.
Definitely going back.
We enjoyed our dinner very much. The bottle of wine we ordered was really good. We will be going back.
Three of us totally enjoyed everything about our 1st dinner at Chez Marie. We will all be back, plus we took some business cards to give to friends. Marie was so sincerely gracious. Nick(?Rick) was our server...a delightfully wonderful young man. Everything was totally perfect...we are all raving fans and self-appointed ambassadors telling everyone to GO TO CHEZ MARIE'S...it's terrific!!!
Loved the soup. Should have stopped there. Lamb shank was under cooked. Very tough. Steak (w frites) was not tender. Peppercorn sauce added nothing.
