Chez Loma Ratings and Reviews
First before anyone else was there it was good.
As soon as other people came we were ignored, there wasn't enough staff and no one came to the table without us having to say something.
The steak was fatty and tough. When I said I was disappointed, the waiter started yelling at me.
I'll never go back. Horrible.
It was a lovely, quaint little restaurant in a beautiful neighborhood just 2 blocks from the Hotel del Coronado. The service was excellent! We were taken to our table right at the time of our reservation. The food was very good. My husband had a duck entree and loved it. I had salmon but was quite disappointed. The side dish was delicious but the salmon was lukewarm and overdone with very little flavor. They surprised us with a yummy creme brulee for our anniversary which was nice. The ambiance was wonderful but since it's such a small intimate setting it can be a little annoying if a few of the other guests are overly boisterous.
My husband and I just wanted a quiet, intimate place to have dinner before going to Lamb's Players. We arrived a little early, were seated and given plenty of time to enjoy our wine before ordering. We chose the early bird menu and were pleased with the choices.
Service was good, food was good and location was good.
This has been a must stop for us when we visit Coronado. The food is excellent, but the service has traditionally been slow. Don't believe it's the servers, but the kitchen area. That said, it seems they always have only one server for the entire restaurant. This visit was no exception and perhaps the longest dining experience we've experienced. Rethinking if we will return. Great venue and food, but be prepared for a long evening.
We have been meaning to go toChez Loma for a long time. It was OK---nothing fantastic.
It took probably almost 10 minutes for a server to acknowledge us once we were seated. She was pleasant and knowledgeable. We had the pate and french onion soup as appetizers. They were very ho-hum. Entrees stood out more: Lamb and duck. Pretty good. My husband ordered pears in wine for dessert. It was good, not WOW! Although we live in Coronado, Chez Loma won't be a regular destination.
Arrived in the bar while we waited for our table. The bartender couldn't have been more rude when asking for bottled beer and a drink menu. That set the tone, we then ordered mussels which were sub par and so we cut our evening short and left. Very disappointing, Mark
We had to book 3 months in advance, from England, to guarantee a table as we couldn't get a table the last time we visited 3 years ago! I really wanted to dine here and..... oh my goodness was it worth the wait! The food, decor and staff far out did our expectations! From the cocktails to the dessert it was amaaaaaazing! The warm welcome from Brook felt genuine and Sabrina, who waited on us, was a real gem! She made the whole dining experience perfect!
The food.... where do
I start? The shrimp cocktail was a totally new experience! It was a Bloody Mary with shrimp in it! Incredible. All our entrees were outstanding too
I'd recommend Chez Loma 100% and you won't be disappointed! Can't wait to come back!
Thank you Chez Loma, your chef is a magician ☺️XxX
I have eaten several times at Chez Loma and it never disappoints. The quality of the food is excellent and they have options for just about any type of palate. They have a nice selection of wines that are priced moderately and their service is always excellent. The atmosphere is really nice and quite a change of pace from many corporate restaurant environments. This a great place to eat, drink and relax!
We celebrated our 18th. wedding anniversary here and it was our first dining experience at this restaurant. The Hotel Marisol, where we stayed, recommended it. Restaurant is well located, just off of Orange Ave., and walking distance to the hotel, shops, etc. Service and food were excellent. We loved our server/waitress, Sabrina. She was memorable, knowledgeable about the wines and menu, and gave her honest opinion. Her personality and service added to our our experience! We'll be back when in the area. Highly recommend this restaurant!
