Chez Francois - Vermilion
We loved the details of our night. From a birthday card signed by the staff to a great birthday dessert the night just felt special. The staff was attentive, the pace was just right and the food was exquisite. Thanks to Matt and the team for making Natalie’s birthday one to remember!
Food was excellent and our waiters were both friendly and attentive. We were celebrating our 12th Anniversary and they made it special.
What a great place! The food, venue and service made for a great dining experience. I highly recommend Chez Francois for any special occasion. Also the bar upstairs makes great drinks.
A wonderful dining experience! Worth the price and the drive.
We enjoyed a great night out for an anniversary dinner. Our server, Omar, was fantastic. He was attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. The food was unique and very well prepared. We enjoyed every aspect of our meal, from appetizers and drinks through the final dessert. Highly recommended for a special night out.
Wonderful food and service with great atmosphere. There is a lot of attention to detail, which really enhances the dining experience.
Always an outstanding experience. The food and service are phenomenal and worth the drive from Toledo.
Excellent, informative, extremely polite, and elite service. The care that goes into the customer experience and food is unmatched. A very strong sense of pride is apparent in all aspects of the dining experience. Exquisite food and service.
At least once a year, my women friends and I come to Vermilion to enjoy the sweet little town and its small shops. We also have dinner at the real attraction which is Chez Francois. There is a reason why Chez has been around for so long. The food is great, the ambiance is fabulous and we always enjoy our little getaway. Thanks for being there Chez Francois.
Service was terrific, very polished; dining room restful, relaxed, sparkling, very pretty Halloween decorations. Free corn soup pre-appetizer was delicious. Salad was overrun with dressing. Lobster-Ravioli special appetizer was tasteless, so was veal-lobster-scallop-shrimp main course; veal breading gooy. Lobster in both dishes was overcooked and tough. Mousse-cake dessert was great! This was our third visit to this restaurant; once per year. Two years ago visit was wonderful, a year ago not bad, this one poor.
Lauren was our server and she was phenomenal! Chef John's food presentation was tremendous and the meal was the best I've had ever. No restaurant I've been to tops Chez. John and Matt blow the competition out of the water hands down. I would recommend Chez Francois to everyone. Thank you for making my dad's 70th birthday so special. We will definitely be back!!
Wonderful dining experience for our anniversary. Thoughtful professional wait staff that truly cared about our comfort and date night. Fabulous food and cocktails. Will 1000% return!!!
As usual Chez Francois hits it out the park with their daily specials and regular menu. Service is extraordinary and it is worth the drive from wherever you are!
Without a doubt this is the finest dining experience and well worth the drive. Both quality and creativity of food and service all in a magical setting. Susie as server is the best and Matt aa the GM is so tuned into the customer. We love this place both summer time on patio or inside the amazing room. Thank you for keeping your tradition alive.
Couldn't be more disappointed. I called from Florida a week in advance to make reservations for my husbands birthday. We were flying in for this occasion. Got there at 730pm for our reservation, met by an extremely rude gentleman who asked what we wanted. That alone is appalling. They did not have our table ready and just left us in their doorway for 20 minutes-no one ever came to check on us. We made the decision to leave. After all we had heard about this restaurant, so disappointing-we will not be back.
The very best! You can never go wrong eating at Chez Francois. It is truly an unforgettable dining experience!
We celebrated our first wedding anniversary here, and we will definitely be back for many more. Our waiter Michael was so great and knowledgeable about the food, restaurant, and area. Can’t wait to come back for more amazing food!
Chez Francois is the hidden gem of Northeast Ohio! As soon as you walk in the door, you are made to feel like royalty. I love dressing up for a dinner date and not feeling out of place - the dress code helps with that. The service is incredible. You never, ever feel rushed, but they are so attentive and are there immediately whenever you need something. And the FOOD. I could go on forever about the food! We ordered the artichokes stuffed with alouette cheese as an appetizer - divine. My husband had the NY strip steak for dinner, and the steak "snob" that he is, he said it's one of the best he's ever had. I had the sea bass special in the miso sauce. I could eat it a million times over. And, of course, since it was our anniversary, we ordered the molten chocolate cake and vanilla ice cream. Perfection! I would recommend Chez Francois to anyone seeking a special occasion dinner or, really, just anyone who wants a really amazing meal and outstanding service. Five stars five times over!
This a wonderful restaurant. I wish I lived closer so I could go more often.
The food is terrific. Wine list best around.
You need to take the trip.....It is worth it.
Top notch everything....ambiance, wait staff, food, experience!
This was our second visit and both times for our anniversary. This truly is a dining experience. The ambiance of an authentic French farm house with wooden beams and exposed brick is wonderful. The wait staff is fantastic. There is a dress code for the dining room as this is a fine dining experience. You are addressed as sir or madam by the wait staff. Our waiter’s knowledge of the menu stressing the importance of locally sourced items was excellent and he was able to suggest a nice bottle of French wine that paired very nicely with our dinner selections. Last year we did the tasting menu with wine pairings and that was outstanding. With 5 courses, you need to arrive hungry because the food and wine pairings are delicious and you won’t want to waste any of it. This year we opted for the house made ravioli and zucchini blossom appetizers, the house salads, lobster thermidor with a petite filet and beef Wellington entrees and the cherries jubilee for dessert. All were prepared to perfection. We were full but not overstuffed. The dining experience takes 2-3 hours but is well worth the price and drive from Akron. It’s an experience that will have you returning for your next special occasion. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a fine dining experience. You won’t be disappointed.
I love this place. They made a special night so much nicer. Great Staff, Great Food, Great everything.
I worked in the kitchen at Chez Francois when I was in high school, and this was my first time visiting as a customer 29 years later to celebrate my 20th wedding anniversary. The food and atmosphere was outstanding. It was better than any French restaurant I’ve visited in France. I also took a tour of the kitchen (exactly as I remembered it) and met my old boss, the owner John D’amico. He is a great guy who frankly overpaid me as a high schooler. My wife and I had the 6 course dinner and it was a great value. It was also a great experience for our special night (we were there about three hours). I will definitely return and recommend it for any special occasion.
I've loved this restaurant for years now since moving to Cleveland in 2003. The whole essence and vibe of the place is authentic and intimate, with excellent food and service. The accredited sommelier and extensive wine list add an extra dimension to the dining experience. Still going strong and we're excited to be back soon.
My husband Mark and I plan our anniversary each year by going to Chez Francois and having dinner. We are from Columbus Ohio and Chez Francois is certainly worth the trip. The wait staff went above and beyond with service. The food is fantastic. The scenery to sit outside and look at the river and unto Lake Erie is wonderful. The weather cooperated this year as it was sunny and 75 a dinner time.
Our 2nd visit to Chez Francois. Excellent cuisine, attentive and professional service. Another memorable dinner.
They truly understand what a high end TOTAL dining experience should be..... that's why they are still there after all the years. Special evening - Thanks to all Chez Francois!
We enjoy celebrating our special occasions at Chez Francois. You know you are someplace special as soon as you enter. The food is exquisite and service is always spectacular. We have never been disappointed in the many times we have visited. A true gem.
It’s always a treat to go to Chez Francois. The ambience is perfect. The food is to die for 💖
Absolutely outstanding! Thank you Matt and Leah!
Best dining experience i have ever had...and I’ve ate at all the fine restaurants in Cleveland.
It was unbelieveable and the service was incredible!
We enjoyed our first dinner experience in June, for our wedding anniversary. Utterly romantic and delicious! We returned to celebrate my birthday this past weekend in September, and it was equally delightful: unsurpassed quality, in food and service. Would recommend this beautiful French restaurant to anyone!
Great restaurant. One of the best dining experiences in northeast Ohio.
Perfect experience every time. Short rib entree outstanding!
Fantastic food and service! Thanks, Matt! Spent our 45 th anniversary with you folks - a memorable dining experience, as usual!
Dining at Chez Francois is always among the best meals/evenings out of the year for my wife and I. The amazingly prepared dinners are always outstanding. The staff are all so friendly. I would have scored them a 5 across the board were it not for two issues: #1 - every other time I was here, service was exceptional, 5 stars. This time, our server had 7 tables. Way to much to allow for the best experience to everyone. A two-person $350.00 dinner commands better service. As a result, we easily spent an extra un-needed hour here. I'm hoping this was an exception and not the new-norm, else that will impact my dinner location chioce. #2 - Not sure when Chez Francois came out with plastic laminated menus, but you aren't TGI Fridays... offer a nice leather or fabric bound menu. The plastic menu was a distraction and turn-off for me.
The billing is correct. It is a one of a kind experience. My wife and I will always remember hee birthday dinner this year
The entrees at Chez François were fabulous. We had the Beef Wellington and Lobster Ravioli. The dishes were excellently prepared and presented.
The appetizer of the pate was mediocre. The pate was dry and disappointing and we did not eat much of it. Based on the price I would have expected higher quality.
Our waitress was very attentive.
The more we travel, the more we appreciate coming home to such an exceptional, excellent restaurant and staff!!! Always perfection!! Nothing quite compares!
