Chez Catherine is consistently rated one of the Best French Restaurants in New Jersey. It provides a wonderful dining experience from the warm greeting when you enter to the last sip of wine. This mainstay of Westfield, NJ for the last 38 years delivers quality cuisine and impeccable service.
The owner, Stephane Bocket was born in Dunkerque, France. Stephane was the Maitre d'Hotel for 12 years before purchasing Chez Catherine in 2016. His career spans many years at Alain Ducasse's restaurants in NYC and France and before that in a number of other restaurants throughout France.

Chez Catherine is like a bit of Paris right here in NJ. Run, don’t walk, to this gem of a restaurant! The attention to detail by the waitstaff is impeccable, as is the divine menu the chef creates. The escargot and Dover Sole Meunière are NOT to be missed. We can’t say enough about Chez Catherine. It’s a five star establishment in every way!!!

What an amazing experience! It was sooo lovely and romantic and fun! The food is wonderful. The waiter is funny and kind. Just a lovely little gem in Westfield.

Fantastic restaurant! Everything from the food to the service and ambiance are perfect for a romantic evening or any special occasion. We've tried most of the menu and everything is amazing!

Absolutely first class service and the food is outstanding. Wait staff are attentive and engaging. Quiet, comfortable atmosphere. And the food is amazing. Yes, I know I commented twice about the food!

Every birthday is celebrated here. The food is exquisite and the service wonderful. If I close my eyes, I am transported to France with every bite. The foie gras is always top notch. Love the Sole Meunière and never a mistake to dip into the soufflé of the day. We shouldn’t save dining here for only special occasions- it is that good!

My husband and I went for dinner on a Wednesday evening. The service was great and the food equally excellent. The (3) course Price Fixed menu has a good selections of different mains but it is not huge. I would recommend going.

Although the experience and cuisine is worthy of any special occasion. The food is superb and prepared well. The selections are imaginative and prepared well. At times the noise level, due to circumstances beyond their control, can be unpleasant. This time the attention to detail was not as refined nor attentive as in past visits. Stephane was charming and took great care as usual, however his 'second' did not live up to typical standards. This is certainly not the norm.

The best restaurant in New Jersey. Outside of Chez Catherine, you now need to go into NYC for this type of dining experience.
