At Chez Bruce we are not particularly into gadgets and tricks in the kitchen. Home-made charcuterie, slow cooked braises, offal, warm and cold salads, classical desserts and bread-making could be listed as specialities. We also take the cheese board very seriously indeed and it forms an integral part of the restaurant's day-to-day life.
The Directors of the restaurant are fanatical wine-lovers and are very proud of the restaurant's wine list which truly is one of the very best in the UK.
Perfectly pleasant evening at Chez B celebrating a birthday. We haven't been here for many a moon but the cooking was on point and service attentive. I would mention however that when you order wine by the glass to accompany the main course it arrives with the main and not shortly after the food order is taken. Only a small thing but something to watch. Thanks
Simply beautiful food and ambience
Great food, superb service, fantastic cheese board, good wine and a visit to our table from Bruce to finish off a great experience! Just go.......
great local restaurant. Tables however were rather close together so it felt a bit cramped and service was a little overwhelmed at times.
We took some friends as a thank you. We had such a lovely day. The staff are all lovely and Bruce was around
All round great evening
As ever a delicious dinner served with style and assurance
Always outstanding, from the food to the service - Chez Bruce never disappoints. We’ll be coming back soon, it’s one of my favourite restaurants in London.
I have been coming here for close to 24 years and it is excellent . The food is stunning and it is incredible value. A week earlier we went to Hedone - it cost almost 3 times as much and was not half as good. One of my favourite restaurants in the world
Chez Bruce offers a delicious choice of food. The menu caters for all tastes and I have yet to be disappointed with the numerous times I have paid a visit. Five stars from me.
A trusted favourite, never lets you down, beautiful food, great wine list and lovely staff.
Best restaurant in London
I came for Sunday lunch.
The food was exquisite. I had a wonderful foie grad and chicken liver parfait which had an incredible jelly made from moscatel - a fabulous foil to the richness of the parfait. The veal chop was a joy: served on the bone, very thick cut - I’ve never had veal like it before - just off-pink. The cheese board is renowned in south London; I now know why: an excellent selection of 16 cheeses from all over the UK and the EU.
I’ll be bringing my family here for my birthday celebrations later on this year, as a result!
Truly wonderful evening yet again, went for a friends birthday. I’ve frequented this restaurant several times now over the past few years and it really is a wonderful experience every time.
Lovely laid back lunch. Great food, wine and atmosphere. We sat there much of the afternoon and no one was rushing us. Amazing cheese board. Epic fois gras. Great local special occasion place
Food was delicious and the waiting staff were wonderful. Front of house were surly and unhelpful though -we had a six month old baby with us and they could barely disguise their disgust, despite him being well behaved and entertaining most people in the restaurant
Delicious food and excellent wine!
Wonderful special little touches that made it a great experience
Delicious food as always! Favourite of course is the hot chocolate pudding!
Excellent as always. We’re spoiled in SW18 with Chez Bruce,
The Chez Bruce staff were professional, but we both thought the food was somewhat lacklustre.
It just felt like a restaurant, and menu, designed by committee to be inoffensive and the whole experience was a bit corporate and dare I say it, staid.
Locally, it has a great (and probably hard-earned) reputation; just can't help but wonder if Chez Bruce might be resting on its laurels.
Have dined at Chez Bruce a few times and the food never disappoints, the flavour combinations they use are always delicious and interesting. The cheese selection at your table is always a real treat. Drink selections are also very good - we had the house special cocktail and it was excellent.
The service was overall very good, but some of the staff could smile a bit more, a few seemed very disinterested, which is not what you pay for in this kind of restaurant.
Food is great, so we will definitely be back.
Always a fantastic experience. Highly recommended.
My son’s birthday with family and friends. We were very well looked after and the food was excellent.
Food was absolutely astonishing, was quite loud and difficult to hear each other or the waiters as it's a smaller restaurant, but the food and service makes up for it
What an absolutely exemplary restaurant this is! We have been half a dozen times over several years and its standards of cuisine and service never falter. Wonderful food (and wine) served in a smart but unstuffy ambience. Never disappointed!
Always outstanding food and service. Lamb Pot-au-feu was delicious!
Absolutely fantastic meal with great service. Made to feel very welcome. The wine recommendation was superb too. A brilliant choice as a special occasion restaurant!
Absolutely fantastic! Food, wine and service! Would definitely recommend.
Excellent as always, service not as good as usual. But restaurant was very busy .
Brilliant as always.
Amazing food but I feel the service has slipped slightly from previous times we’ve been. Wasn’t as friendly and accommodating as previous visits. The food continues to be excellent.
Fantastic as ever - great food and fantastic attentive service!
Fantastic evening as always. Food is outstanding every time.
Up to it’s usual excellent standards, food amazing and very helpful sommelier.
Great food, great atmosphere and outstanding cocktails. The service is also fantastic. Such a treat. The best place to eat in London!
Overall great place - one of my favourite restaurants in SW London. Don’t miss it!
Wonderful food, lovely staff. Pricey but then all Michelin starred restaurants will be and the food is really superb. They made a special occasion (daughter's 21st), extra special.
The cooking was excellent, the staff were incredibly patient and respectful.
Upstairs seating was disappointing as ambience not the same but food was very good and a nice night overall
