Very, very loud. Seated in the bar. Fat guy standing up at the booth next to us using f bombs ever other word. Waiter acted extremely busy, but got little done. $84 for a one in ribeye. Not worth the pain of the experience. The small filet was prepared good for $38.
Everything was great with the exception that they allow smoking on the patio at the dining tables.
Great atmosphere, Great service and Great food!!!!
Food was amazing as always Except for the king crab cakes......oil was not hot enough as they were not crispy on the outside. They just absorbed the oil and were mushy......tasted ok. Also our particular server didnt offer us the specials as she was doing every other table and she seemed annoyed when my girlfriend asked for a wine suggestion. Other than that the service was fine.
Wonderful evening. Best steak I have ever had......
Our waiter didn’t offer the days specials or bring us bread until we asked for it after our meals were served. (Asian guy) Hecwas very friendly and upbeat, but seemed a little rushed even though the restaurant was pretty empty.
Maybe it was an off night but the food was mediocre at best. Steak came out way rare, sent back and the outside was the burnt and very crusty. For the price it was not worth it at all. There are much better local options.
Everything was delicious, from the Bankok Calamari to the Citrus Carrot Cake! The service was professional but friendly. Highly recommend.
Simply put, best dining experience I’ve had in a long time. Incredibly accommodating, had a high chair waiting for arrival, service from Michaela (sp?) was nurturing without hovering, and they did a remarkable job with the social distancing of the tables.
My wife had the halibut special, I had the NY Strip, and crab cakes to start. All. Were. Divine.
Great experience, great staff, and I gladly give all the stars.
Best in Wichita - was worried with new ownership that quality would drop off. Kept staff, menu, and high quality food.
Chester’s steaks are the best in Wichita. Service is always great.
Our server was superb, we were treated very special and the food was excellent. Our takeaway dessert was so beautifully packaged. It was a wonderful relaxing evening!
We love a great steak and Chesters always comes through (albeit at over-the-top prices). Our main objection is that the 3 times we've eaten there the background music is unnecessary - it's always annoying and too loud. When a restaurant is at low capacity (under 25 last Sunday night) the last thing the patrons want is music to interfere with their conversation. But it also begs the question: why is there ANY background music in a steakhouse restaurant? In a bar, I understand, in a nice, sit-down restaurant, I don't understand.
Just my humble opinion. But the steaks are SUPERB!
Great dining experience, would highly recommend to anyone!
Great service and food, as always!
Great meal with great service!
Food and service was great. Would have preferred if they kept guests at tables at least 6 ft apart.
I looked on your site, and noticed you had creme brulee. It was my 25th wedding anniversary, I was so looking forward to this. My husband could have eaten all the steak you had, the sweet potato was delicious but I just wanted the dessert. I was devastated that it was taken off the menu. It made the rest of my evening sad. Even my husband commented on the look on my face when we found out.
The waitress was so sweet and kind and efficient. I enjoyed talking with her and her recommendation on food.
today is not a good day for me to answer about returning, because I had waited for the creme brulee for over a month, it is hard to say about returning or recommending this place to family and friends.
Wait staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about their food and drinks, the food was amazing too!
Food came out quickly but properly coursed. Waitress was amazing.
All staff members were wonderful and very professional.
The rain in Spain falls mainly on the plain. Thanks
Our recent dinner at Chester's would not have come close to meeting our pre-pandemic expectations. But, we are experiencing the "new normal", at least for the foreseeable future and find ourselves in the peri-pandemic period. Therefore, we realize that lower expectations, at least for now, result in fewer disappointments. That being said, there are a few things that need to be addressed at Chester's immediately. First, social distancing is still absolutely necessary and restaurants like Chester's are, in no way, unique exceptions. While there are at least six feet separations between tables and tables and booths. There is no more than 2 feet of separation between booths and, on Monday evening, several customers were being grouped in adjacent booths - probably to accommodate the wait staff. We won't accept a booth again when we dine there, at least not until the post-pandemic period. Second, they are still using their traditional menus and wine lists that should be cleaned between customers. Better to switch to disposable during this period so customers don't wonder if it's actually being done. Third, the small bottle of hand sanitizer on each table is a nice touch but a reusable bottle that is more than half empty is not the best idea - again, in this period. A small, disposable bottle guests can take with them or that can be discarded would be better. The same applies to the pens provided to guests to sign their checks. While we always use our own pens, and have for years, using single-use pens would probably be better. Finally, blaming a new owner for menu changes is poor form. When we ask about the "Bag of Donuts" on the dessert menu, our waiter informed us that Chester's has a new owner and he didn't like that item and had it removed. We were just there less than 3 months ago, 5 months after the new owner took over and ordered the "Bag of Donuts". Wouldn't it have been better to simply say that they no longer have that item on the menu?
Great food, had the veil chop that was cooked to perfection.
The food and service are consistently top notch at Chester’s. We are never disappointed by visiting.
Love going but very disappointed that no servers or wait staff were wearing masks and no social distancing of tables.
Awesome food, service have yourself a tomahawk steak!! Yummy!
Seating was spaced to provide comfy social distancing; waitress was very pleasant - food portions were great
I'm from Fort Worth. I came in for the quality of the food with a coworker. Ordered an $80+ bone-in ribeye (medium rare), $90 bottle of wine, the corn and mushrooms dish, and lastly the creamed spinach. The ribeye and corn side were impeccable. The creamed spinach wasn't worth getting even it was free. The wine was tasty; but with all wine, the quality depends greatly on the environment. We were in the inside dining room and there was rowdy bunch of guys at the long table (maybe 18 guys). It was so loud, and crude, that I couldn't hear myself talking to my buddy 3ft away from me. Rochelle, our server, was kind and professional...and those guys were one of her tables. She was embarrassed and apologetic. Whomever was the manager dropped the ball. He was more concerned about their $2,000 tab than my $320 total. We picked our bottle and glasses and went to the bar. Totally unacceptable. If those guys wanted a bar, they should have went to one. Either that or Chester's should take their overpriced steak profits and build a private room...with closable doors.
Our steak was so tough that we couldn’t eat it. However the chicken was amazing!
Food was great. My salmon was cooked perfectly and to order. Service is always impeccable. Great job!
Never can go wrong at Chester’s! Wonderful food and awesome service!
Michaela provided us with top notch service, the food and drinks were AMAZING, couldn't imagine a better place to spend our anniversary! ❤️
The food was excellent and for the money it was delicious and cooked just right the service could not have been any better very responsive always helping one another and clearing the table and filling the water is exactly what I like. Our waiter Taylor was unbelievable very upbeat and happy and attentive.
Hostess was rude, we stood to be seated for a few minutes as he looked at us multiple times before seating us. First thing out of his mouth was do you have a reservation in a rude tone. we were the first customers there at 4:30pm with nobody behind us so why even push the reservation so hard? Server seemed very unorganized with explaining the menu and drink menu. Food was OKAY nothing to craze about especially for the money. George’s French bistro blows this place out of the water. George’s $38.00 ribeye blows Chester’s steaks away. Odd seeming how George owns both places. Anyway $185.00 later definitely not worth the price. Unfortunately will not be back, if you want fine dining seek George’s French bistro.
Beginning to see the effects of new management. No more delicious crackers, but sparse sour dough bread. Special salad was just mediocre. Ordered salmon done medium but it was dry and overcooked. Service was attentive. As usual, dining at a table puts a diner in the middle of a mild roar and it is difficult to carry on conversation.
Everything was great! Food was outstanding and staff was perfect. Lemon cheesecake was delicious too.
Our waiter was very attentive. Thanks Josh. Food was delicious. Great place.
Our waiter Isaac was amazing and totally professional. Couldn’t tell ANY difference from new ownership. Still the BEST steakhouse in Wichita!
