Since we have had excellent meals at the Chesapeake Inn before, we decided to go there to celebrate our 49th anniversary. We were greeted half-hearty and our anniversary was similarly acknowledged. A bit disappointing. Prior to our arrival, one associate confirmed that they still took a particular coupon, but when we arrived, the Hostess said that they are no longer accepted. It would have been better to have known ahead of time.
The restaurant was about a quarter full, so the noise level was conducive to conversation, but the timeliness of service was lacking, as was the accuracy of our order and check amount (twice). The waitress was pleasant.
The coconut shrimp, post stickers and Flounder Chesapeake were excellent, as were their baked Oysters Rockefeller and Chesapeake and their Brussel sprouts. The water view is exceptional. We would return for these and hope that the staff becomes a bit more responsive to their patrons.
Good took way to long to make it to the table.
I absolutely love to eat at The Chesapeake Inn. The ambiance in this restaurant is amazing. The food is outstanding, the staff is courteous and friendly. The view of the Chesapeake River is stunning.
I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone.
We visited for our first time for the Father’s Day Brunch on Sunday and it was extremely disappointing. Very limited menu compared to what their normal menu offers. And for the price ($45/pp), the quality of the food did not meet expectations. Great waitstaff and lovely ambiance by the marina, but doesn’t make up for the lackluster food and high cost for low quality.
Perfect night, dined outside and the food was delicious!
Wonderful service by Juliana. Fabulous atmosphere. Great food! Awesome view.
We went to the Chesapeake Inn with my Brother in law and Sister in law to celebrate their visit and my sister in laws end of her breast cancer treatment. Also fathers day and their anniversary and My husbands birthday. They wanted seafood and were not disappointed. It was excellent!! MY brother in law lived in Alaska for quite a few years and was impressed with the halibut and that is high praise.
The entrees ( Naked Halibut, Shrimp Diavolo, and grilled Scallops) were all fresh, excellently prepared and delicious. The service was professional and attentive and the view of the Marina and Canal at sunset was outstanding. We have been here many times and not been disappointed yet. $4.00 valet parking is well worth the cost in this limited public parking area.
Our server Lisa Ann was energetic, helpful and efficient. Our food arrived hot and was delicious. The crab bisque is a must.
Although the staff was as accommodating as possible, that did not make up for the poor expertise of the chef's on duty. The food came out tepid/cold & the steak was overdone the first time, extremely underdone the second time & the third time I decided our pup was going to get a nice treat when we got home. Save your money & head to the Bayou in Havre DeGrace for a great meal at a fraction of the price of this place.
The setting and view was fantastic , the staff were friendly and accommodating, and the food was delicious. I look forward to going back again in the near future.
The server was fantastic, especially dealing with one in my party who had special dietary requirements and another who wanted food that wasn't on the menu (which they accommodated). And the food was really good. It's a nice place to eat and, if you get a table in the middle of one of the windows, the view of Back Creek is great.
We went on Memorial Day we missed band but still had a great experience, was nice to set out an enjoy the water with the lights; we wish the menu was the same as inside because we would loved to have the same food outside but it still was great evenings
Great service, good food with a scenic view.
Was very busy the night we were there. Our waiter was excellent and constantly checked on us. Food was tasty. The only small complaint I would have is that it took an hour and a half for our food to come out and for the prices we paid, the portion was extremely small.
First time. Will come back.
A perfect place to celebrate my daughter graduating from University of Delaware. Pretty back roads to get there and only 25 mins away. We sat on the upstairs deck under the overhang so had complete shade but beautiful view. Spent 2 1/2 hours there and they did not rush us all. My daughter was mad she hadn't been before while at school! What a find!
We made a reservation for the dining room but then were able to request the Terrace when we got there. Totally worth it on a nice evening. Service & food were great (that’s consistently true).
This place has the best food in the area. The bread is delicious, and the seafood is great. It is fresh and prepared expertly. I highly recommend this restaurant!!!
Always have a great meal here
Enjoyed our evening there. Food was good, our server was wonderful just an all around nice night to celebrate our anniversary. Thank you again for the pom champagne toasts.
Service was great. Our Lobster Caprese was fantastic. We both chose beef for main course and it was over cooked and tough. Desert was good. Wine list left a lot to be desired under $100.
Everything was fine, as we expected. I do think that it is rude for the plates to be cleared before everyone is finished eating. I think that it is only considerate that you wait for everyone to finish eating before boxes are offered or dishes are cleared. This is a habit that all restaurants have begun, and is quite uncomfortable for those that eat slower.
Brunch was awesome. Great service.
Service and food were excellent as always
They never disappoint!!!
The food was delicious, service was excellent.
Had a wonderful meal at the Inn on the C&D Canal. We ordered Sushi and it was some of the best we have every had. Portions were perfect for what we ordered. The view was wonderful as the sun set and the lights in the boat docks came on. The service was great. With the beautiful weather the outside crowd was really large but the main dining room had plenty of room. With valet parking at only $4 it was quite a deal.
Great food and service, too many young children for upscale restaurant
Our friendly server made the experience better than expected.
Excellent meal and service with a great view.
Table was ready when we arrived and they were very busy. The menu has changed dramatically since we were here last, and was a little disappointed that they no longer have the option of choosing the fish and how you would like it prepared. Having said that, they did have a nice selection of fish available. Everyone chose the Crab Bisque, and it was excellent. U-10 Scallops were properly prepared and were delicious and both people that had them were very pleased. The Crab Cake dinner was enjoyed as was the Hangar Steak (very tender and served medium rare). Deserts were enjoyed by all, Creme Brulee, Peach Cobler, as well as ice cream. Looking forward to our next visit. Special note. #1 our server, Elane" was exceptional, truly helped make our evening very pleasant. Special note. #2 Try the Orange Crush from the bar, you won't be disappointed
Service was very slow and everything seemed "off". I had the special which was "potato encrusted salmon" which consisted of an overly grilled piece of salmon with four pieces of
thinly sliced potato grilled onto the top. The selection of steamed mixed vegetables that
we have enjoyed in the past was replaced with ordinary green beans. My lobster bisque soup
which is another long-time favorite was tasty but served luke warm. It seems like there is
a new chef and he is steering the menu away from our previous favorites - e.g. the "naked
fish" selections with various toppings was gone. All in all a very disappointing visit and no
longer worth a long drive.
Food was terrible. Out of 4 meals only one was good. Put in reservation celebrating a birthday yet it was not acknowledged.
We had a nice view of the canal from the dining room. Food was great. We got the chefs specials salmon and scallops. Service was a bit slow but that was expected on the first warm weather night of the season. Overall good experience
over all our experience was great. the waitress was a bit slow with follow up . My boyfriend went to tip the oil for the bread and the cap had not been tightened so he got and oil bath. BUT the manager came over and gave us a voucher for dry cleaning. The food was fabulous. we had indoor seating away from the vibrant bar scene . The view of the canal was great through a large window. I would definitely recommend highly
Everything was amazing, beautiful night and we sat outside on the top deck. Would highly recommend.
The food is always good and fresh. The service good I love sitting by the window the view is beautiful
Love the atmosphere. There's a scenic view from any table in the restaurant. Staff was attentive and friendly. My son loves the bisque. The cuisine never disappoints!
Went for Easter brunch. Brunch selection was great and staff were all wonderful. From valet attendants to hostess to wait staff. Will definitely go back again once it warms up to check out lunch.
Wish the deck menu had more fish options.
