Chesapeake Inn Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
This was our second visit to the Chesapeake Inn. The first time, we came for dinner before we went downstairs to the deck to see a band play (on a Saturday night). We didn't order any appetizers and it took 45 minutes for our food to come, but everything was delicious. This second visit was a date night for us, and we were looking forward to having a quiet dinner on a weeknight and revisit the menu we enjoyed the first time. The service was excellent; our server was attentive and friendly. Although the appetizers looked great, neither of us are big eaters and opted for crab bisque and Caesar salad. The crab bisque was creamy and delicately delicious. The Caesar salad was also good. My husband ordered the Penne, with wild gulf shrimp, crabmeat, and scallops which was excellent. I ordered the Eastern Shore Chicken, also very good, but it seemed a bit heavy on the salt. I love the location in quaint little Chesapeake City, an historical little town with well-cared for homes lining the streets that took us to the restaurant right on the bay. If you're lucky enough to sit by the windows, the view is lovely. The deck in the summer is just as lovely - and we're looking forward to eating out there in the future.
Despite making a last minute reservation, the Chesapeake Inn delivered. They called as soon as they received the reservation to explain that the restaurant had a busy night ahead of them and worked with me to understand how they could best accomdate my request.
My brother and his wife, who were visiting from Colorado, were treated to a beautiful water front view and outstanding service from our server Elaine. She timed our meals perfectly. Everything was cooked the way we requested.
Five of us had a very pleasant birthday lunch here for my wife. Everyone enjoyed their meal - a crabcake sandwich, a club sandwich, vegan platter, a wrap and sturgeon Sicilian style; three crab bisque's and an onion soup. Outstanding coffee (and I'm a home roaster, so used to good coffee). Service was attentive without being intrusive. It was a quiet Tuesday, so no problems with noise or crowds.
Last minute get together with friends. Reservations easily acquired and when we called to tell them we would be a little bit late, it was no problem. Our waitress was friendly, funny, and a great server. Very pleasant experience. Oh, and the food was good, too. :)
Another GREAT night at the bar with Tommy and Pam. They have always taken care of my family as if they were our family. Food variety is incredible from sushi to steak, it can't be beat. The craft beer on tap is right up my alley. Multiple selections and always served very cold. This place can't be beat and it's right on the water.
Our visit exceeded our expectations. It was my fiance and I second date in over 5 years. We were finally able to get a babysitter Sat night and we knew exactly where we wanted to go. Everyone was extremely friendly, excellent food and service (unfortunately do not recall his name). Beautiful atmosphere. We are highly considering having our wedding here. Such a hidden gem! I have already recommended Chesapeake Inn to a handful of friends. Thanks to all for a wonderful night. We will definitely be returning!
Chesapeake Inn never disappoints! The food is always excellent, the service attentive and professional. We have eaten here numrous times, both inside dining and the outdoor deck in the warmer months. Our son says the sushi is awesome and well-priced. Reservations are not always bneeded, but the venue is on Open Table, if you use that app.
The Chesapeake Inn is lovely. The food was outstanding. The service was outstanding. Our server, Iris Ann, was very attentive and knowledgeable. Her recommendations were spot on. Our group eats out once a month. We were so impressed that we plan to come back again next month.
Outstanding food with good selection of appetizers, salads, soups, and entrees. We did not have dessert, so I cannot comment on that aspect. We were there on a Monday evening, so it was a quiet environment. Quite a variety of seafood as well as land based protein choices. The restaurant is now serving sushi, which I believe is a fairly recent addition. Full selection of wines, beer, and mixed drinks. Our waitress was very attentive and efficient without being intrusive. We enjoyed the view from the upstairs dining area. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys good food properly served in a pleasant environment.
Requested a window table 24 hours in advance for 7 for my dad's 80th birthday. We had the first reservation for that night and disappointed they did not give us the center window to enjoy better views on both sides of the table especially given the amount of money we spent. The table centered at the window seated only 4.
Nice view of the canal and bridge.
We arrived for late lunch and hopefully the place was quite and relax and service was unhurried (which was fine for us) but seems that as long as the dinning room start to get busier, might be slow.
Crab cake and Sword fish cajun blackend were delicious. We enjoyed our lunch.
Been goign here for years, but usually stay down on The Deck. Decided to finally try the upstairs dining room for a little bit finer dining. Food was excellent. Had a fresh caught fish done in the style of my choice. All the side dishes and entrees were exceptionally prepared. Crab bisque is to die for.
Our server, Dustin, was fantastic. He claimed to be "the new guy" (only there since May), but he was more like a seasoned pro. He did something usually reserved for high-end restaurants, turning our dinner into a dining experience. Kudos to him. Even informed us that due to our anniversary we were entitled to a champagne toast. We would have never known.
The waterfront dining, coupled with the exceptional cuisine, make this a must-do in the MD-DE area.
Everything would have gotten 5 stars but there was a wedding and the restaurant was packed so the kitchen was very backed up. Took over an hour to get our food but the weather and outdoor seating was so nice it wasn't that big of a deal since we weren't in a hurry. Amazing!
We usually love Chesapeake inn. Unfortunately the service was terribly slow on Friday night. Food was great as always, but we brought friends who had never been and they probably won't return because of the long wait. Such a shame because they have great food!
