Chequers Seafood + Steak is located in the East Cobb area of Marietta, Georgia. This upscale seafood restaurant offers both fresh seafood and premium steaks, with an impressive wine cellar to select the perfect pairing to accompany whichever meal is chosen. Handcrafted cocktails are also available at Chequers Seafood + Steak.
Starting with a soup is a tough choice with two premium options to choose from Maine lobster bisque and spicy Creole gumbo. Other starters such as the Blue Hill Bay mussels, Vietnamese crab spring rolls and smoked salmon flatbread are hard to decide between as well. Once you get to dinner it doesnt get any easier with shellfish bouillabaisse, lobster Cobb salad and pretzel crusted trout. Chequers Seafood + Steak has a menu that will easily please everyone.
This was my favorite restaurant. I loved going here and getting the delicious biscuits, wonderful lobster bisque, great steak, crab cakes, mashed potatoes, and green beans with pecans. I was very sad that I ate my last meal here on 5/25/16 before they closed down for good. It is a real shame...this was a one of a kind restaurant and it will be missed.
Bye Chequers.
Our anniversary dinner was at one of our favorite restaurants on the last night they were open. In spite of the imminent closing, they maintained their usual excellent cuisine and service. We will miss Chequers.
Restaurant closing and we wanted to go one more time. Hope they will reopen in another location as we love their quality offerings.
GREAT PLACE! Sorry to realize they are closing. The chef here prepared fabulous entrees and appetizers!
Another enjoyable get-together with friends for Sunday Brunch but alas our last one. Chequers will be sorely missed. (Closing May 26, 2016)
Thank you Brantley. Thank you Alex. Thank you Carl.
:-(
Unfortunately Chequers is closing May 26, 2016. Chequers will be sorely missed. Thank you Brantley. Thank you Alex. Thank you Carl.
Thank you Andrew s.
A wonderful restaurant ... Too bad it is closing soon...
As usual, the food was outstanding and the service was impeccable.
The food was cooked perfectly.
We are hoping that they will reopen SOON!
Unfortunately this was our first visit to Chequers only to learn that this location would be closing the following week. Although I was hoping I wouldn't love it, they proved me wrong. The food was excellent and the service was very good as well. We definitely would have come back for another visit.
Too bad it's closing this week it was a great place
Extraordinary food! Sad to see it go!!!
This restaurant is fantastic. I am super disappointed to hear they will be closing on 5/25
We visited this restaurant twice in the same month. We absolutely love it, I would go there as often as possible.. Unfortunately on our recent visit with our friends we were informed that they were closing the restaurant at the end of this month.. We are so disappointing to hear this. It is by far the best restaurant in our area and draws a wonderful crowd.. ( I simply don't understand as they seem to always be busy.
Group of 8 went out and some of my friends said they were not greeted and they received no help when they were trying to locate the others at our table. Overpriced and no one was impressed with their food.
Can't believe that they are closing our favorite restaurant.
Guess new lease deal didn't work.
What next? Any other locations?
Went there for Mothers day. Nice atmosphere. Servers seemed to be over stretched but we were sitting next to a table with a large party.Food was good but I have had better. No major complaints. Just not as good as the Palm, comparable to Ruth Cris. The mom of the family enjoyed it so thats what matters!
Great food and typically great service. Mother's Day is not s good day to expect great service.
We went there for Mother's Day and they had a special three course meal. The selections were wonderful and I certainly enjoyed the day!
We are regulars at Chequers and love their Sunday brunch. As usual, the food was amazing. Unfortunately, we were seated by the kitchen and the constant movement of the swinging doors proved distracting for our family's celebratory meal. Even still, we will return for what we believe is metro Atlanta's best Sunday brunch.
We like going to brunch for Mother's Day, Checkers has always had a nice brunch, it was better in the old location. This year we had a 1pm res. got seated right at 1pm, but the brunch buffet trays were always low or empty, the Omelet station is in a tough place and long lines (slow), meat station also is in a tough place, short people would have a tough time getting served. And they need to put some Lobster in the Lobster mac&cheese, and crab in the crab/shrimp stuffing (mostly filler). We overpaid for the quality, like I said their older location by Perimeter had much better quality. And did I mention we saw a waiter grab a cookie and stuff it in his mouth. And desserts weren't replenished either. The price per person was to expensive for the quality. And they should keep restrooms cleaner and in working order (sink faucet not working). It was a nice place and great food once before and I think it can be again, they need to tighten up the quality. We won't be back next year unless I hear they changed.
Do not use this review as a report card for this restaurant.
We have been here for dinners and were terribly happy. We thought this Mothers day Buffet would compare to last years. Unfortunately it was terribly disappointing. Buffet was poorly stocked and the three tables around us were only able to meagerly fill their plates once. For 70 bucks I expected better.
I'm not a buffet person and wouldn't have gone for Mother's Day if I knew it was buffet only. It was good but I was surprised that there was no fresh fish on the buffet for a seafood house. Peel your own shrimp is not something I do In a restaurant.
I enjoyed the majority of what I ate. The food was decent but the service was my problem. Initially he was great but my sister used her debit card to pay for half of the ticket which was supposed to be $50.68. My mother left a tip. The waiter initially swiped her card for $50.68, then later it showed a deduction from her account for $60.68. That's theft by taking in my book. Still a great place to eat. Just take CASH!
The food was good , the service was not our waitress was MIA . We had to ask another server for to provide with additional water and coffee. It was Mothers Day and it is always noise so that was not a problem.
Went for Mother's Day Brunch. Their brunch is always great! Definitely check it out.
We had company in town for their birthday and Mothers Day. We were not able to make reservations for 10 but when we arrived they were able to give us 2 tables right next to each other. The food was amazing and the service was top notch. My out of town guests had visited a few of the other "must visit" restaurants for "southern cooking" but they were disappointed with every other location they went. However, they felt that their Mothers Day brunch at Chequers made up for all of the other bad experiences they had this past weekend. My favorites were the made to order omelet, the bread pudding, and the chocolate fountain.
Ordered the filet & crab cake. Yummy. I would definitely order it again.
Our Mother's Day dinner for 9 was great including the drinks, food and the service. I was disappointed to hear that they will be closing for good on May 29...
I've patronized Chequers for years and the food is always amazing. Great wine list.
I've given up on this joint. Dated feel, overpriced food
Chequers moved to a new location and unfortunately it was not meeting the standards it observed in its original location near Perimeter mall.
Subsequently, it closed therefore, we cannot recommend to others nor its attributes.
Great variety on the menu with reasonable prices. Service was outstanding, quick and friendly.
The food here is excellent and the service is stellar. We dined here for my birthday and had a great experience. The great cuisine is complemented by the pleasant, professional staff and service at this restaurant. We will return.
Went for Sunday Brunch. Love the cheese grits and seafood!
Delicious food...good customer service
Food was cooked and presented perfectly. The seafood was fresh and the steak was at perfect temperature.
we love this place, our local "go-to" restaurant. Sadly we learned that they are closing in a month or so. Supposedly another restaurant taking it's place. Sad to see them leave our area, and the Atlanta area. We were so excited when they moved to this location just a few short years ago. Love their Tuna Poke, the Pretzel encrusted fish, many dishes. And the Calamari.
Location closing June, wait staff was attentive.
Our server, Fernanda, was her usual attentive self. She always treats us well and helps us decide what we are going to eat that evening.
