I really do wish that there were more than 5 stars to date the excellence of this restaurant.

I had the steak and lobster while my girlfriend had the rib eye. Both were cooked to perfection.

What topped off the food experience was the professional wait staff. Great attitude and accommodating.

To be totally honest, the whole experience on the Queen Mary was fantastic. ( We stayed overnight) We will definitely return.

Awesome food, the steaks and seafood were cooked to perfection. Service was spotty, the waitress seemed inexperienced and did a terrible job with the bottle of wine we brought. I would go back just for the food and seeing more of the ship.

We had the Illusions of the Passed package so the menu was cut to three choices. Luckily the steak was good! The service was good. Noise level was off the charts and all coming from just one table next to us so it would have been much worse had it been crowded. I think if you are paying over $200 just for the food for three people you should have had a choice of anything on the menu.

Superb food. Went for seafood - blackened swordfish steak (from “today’s catch”) was as good as anything we have ever eaten. Huge portion, and excellent value at $32. Great ambience in iconic location. Wine overpriced, which was disappointing, so had water instead.

Not enough vegan options - and they were “out” on the two options they had.

The dinner wait staff - pleasant and attentive.

The breakfast wait staff - horrendous, rude, inaccessible.

Not worth the money, and it spoiled part of the reason we came.

Spent the day on the Queen Mary with our teenage grandchildren. At the end after a couple of tours we stopped to have dinner. We got a great window table and the view was fantastic.
Right from the start it was great. The wait staff was very attentive and helpful. We order some calamari and mussels. Very good and more than enough for the four of us. I ordered the tomato based clam chowder and a wedge salad. Both were fantastic. The fish soup is pricey but was a wow. The steak was great.
Great place to go but plan on $50 plus per person without wine or desert.
We will take guests there in the future. It help make for a great finish to an interesting day.
Reservations are a must.

Terrible. Did not have the regular menu we were expecting when we booked. Claims they were honoring Scottish festival. No mention on Open Table. Tried to seat us in a different room that was a genera cafeteria on the Queen Mary. Opted to leave restaurant. Will never return.

The waiter service was great. However, the food was disappointing. The food was warm and not hot. Especially the clam chowder. We did eat there twice and felt we had upset stomachs both occasions. Our first night we had a reservation through Open Table and when we got to the check in area, they made us wait in the long line and when we finally go to the check in counter, the manager told the hostess to just seat us at any table. It was as if it didn’t matter that we had a reservation. We got stuck behind a wall area and felt like they could care less for our experience. We understand that there was a festival at that time, but we made a reservation for that reason. To give the place a second chance, we went the next night, and they still tried to put us behind another wall area even though there were open tables facing the water view. The food once again was luke warm, but our waiter was great.

Amanda was our server, she was great. I took my 12 years old son & my 15 years old daughter along with my husband to enjoy the Valentine's evening and since my 2 kids haven't been on the ship before, they really enjoyed it, I'm glad I took them, although I would've loved to take them every so often but it's too pricey. I probably won't come back until the next occasion. Thank you for your services and delicious food.

My husband surprised me with a special Birthday/Valentine's day party with 3 other couples.
Our waitress was very nice but it took forever to get our meals. I was a server years ago so I am very understanding and patient. The food wasn't anything special and I ordered the Valentine's day Filet and Lobster dinner. Our table faced a curtain covered kitchen or dishwasher area, definitely not appealing or desirable. So much could be done to make this an amazing restaurant. I thought it was quite tacky myself as did our guests whom had previously dined there. We were dressed nicely and realized that we could have worn jeans, t-shirts and flip flops It's too bad because it has great potential. I was married on this ship 43 years ago so I am familiar with its elegance and beauty. I am familiar with Sir Winston's next door but it shouldn't have to go from beautiful to tacky. We all left disappointed and know that we will not return to this particular restaurant.

Yes, I would recommend Chelsea's to a friend. My one regret is that we were there on Valentine's Day and on the Scottish Festival weekend, so the restaurant had a "special menu" that did not have my favorite dish on it: cioppino. I was disappointed, but we stayed for dinner anyway. Another couple, however, got up and left the restaurant because the menu was not what they expected. I suggest that Chelsea's keep their regular menu even during "special" weekends. Chelsea's is a rather expensive place to dine, but the ambience and quality of food partially make up for the cost.

Food was good and service was excellent. Only issue was that the menu online did not match what they were serving. We came to get the oysters, Manhattan Clam Chowder and seafood entrees everyone raves about. But these weren't being served the night we arrived. Darn! Server said they had a special menu that night which should have been posted online. Had we known this, we would have come for dinner on a different night.

The food was excellent, I enjoyed the special which was a fish & steak combo. Our waitress was slow and inattentive, but our back waiter/busser was the only one who made up for it. Wished I could have tipped him separately. We will be back, because we love the Queen Mary, but hopefully they will work on training their staff.

A girl friend and I spent the night on the Queen Mary and thus decided to remain on board for dinner for convenience's sake.
We had made a reservation for two, and were swiftly seated at a table near a window. There is no atmosphere in this room! No flowers, nothing green to liven up the drab surroundings. The view makes up for it a little, but the lack of atmosphere was surprising. The price of the entrees seems a little high for the experience. We chose the pork chops with "apple sauce (no, they were chunks), and a few potatoes. The meat was flavorful, though the amount obscene. Two enormous chops (I am a 115 lb woman) were drowning in a brown sauce. I wanted something green, and ordered a side of green beans. My haricots verts were undercooked. I felt compelled to eat the two chops, though one would have been enough, and my dinner companion left half the meal on her plate. Why not offer ONE pork chop with sides, for a lesser price? Yikes, I hadn't eaten that much meat in years. We could not take a doggy bag home to our "cabin." The creme brulee was thickened with something I couldn't figure out, and the top was nicely caramelized. Service was efficient, though a bit on the flippant side. Why not make this a more elegant experience (a few flowers on the tables would do.) The bill with tip came to $144 with ONE glass of wine..

Though interesting, I will not repeat the experience. That is perhaps the attitude of the staff: these people only come one, why does it matter? I had a similar experience at breakfast in the same dining room the next morning: a stale piece of bread that had been retoasted or reheated (I couldn't even cut or bite through it) topped with vague smear of avocado (I requested more), unseasoned arugula, 6 mini tomato halves and a poached egg on to: USD10.. NO! I will not come back.

The live oyster order has almost no meat on them, it was a size of an olive, we ordered 3 portions they were all the same. Why the chef not say a word instead he/she just let it be served. if the oyster was not in season, then tell the customer let them know. or at least just serve 1 unit then ask us if we wanted to change to others.
The halibut fish was baked so dry, that there was no natural juice from the fish, it was just like eating a piece of dry chicken white meat, that was not the intention of ordering this quality fish, it is a soft sweet meat.
The English Chowder is lacking of the clam favour, I couldn't find the clam meat either.

We felt the noise level was a little loud. I think it was the acoustics. Online the restaurant interior looked great. However, it was not the same in person. I guess no upgrades have been done. Overall it was nice. Food was expensive but very tasty. Our waiter was great. They provided a piece of red velvet cake for my husband's birthday and it was to die for!

Try all the chowders! Shrimp dishes were excellent. Loved seeing art from history of ship. Pricey but decent sized portions. Pork chops were good but didn't care for the potatoes, as some were overcooked and others undercooked.

It was nice to see ”the” ship, and I sure will recommend my friends to visit too. But experience at the restaurant wasn’t the best. At the reseption we didn’t feel very welcome. Girl said she’ll check a table for us, then came back and waited behind the corner. Did’t say ”welcome, your table is this way or anything”. It was a bit weird. Our weitress was really in a hurry. Restaurant wasn’t full. She was collecting dishes when one was still eating. Asked me about dessert after I had eaten first, and I said no, I was fine, she never asked others. She came to check 3 times of we were ready with the bill (as Europeans, it takes a while to think about the tip to leave)... we teally didn’t feel welcome.
After we left, our weirress ”run” past us with her own coat on... her workday was ending and she DID want to get rid of us as soon as possible... but so obvious didn’t feel nice as a dining experience.
Even as that restaurant is a casual restaurant, the athmosphere of the shio demands better service, I think. So please, some training for the staff about customer service that the Wueen Mary deservs!

Everything was perfect; the food the service the cost the view the setting. The dessert was fabulously rich and my grandson loved it. The only thing I regretted was when’s went to the ladies room I left my fur shawl in the handicap stall. It was a Christmas gift from a good friend of mine. I’m very sad about that...

Our bill was $297 with the tip for 4 of us. Each of us had the Christmas dinner that included an appetizer, steak and dessert. The clam chowder was good. The steaks were truck-stop quality (at best), and we sent one back for a new one because it was so stringy I could barely cut it. There was virtually no flavor to the meat, save for the sauce poured on top. The desserts were typical of cheap grocery store frozen cakes and were brought in from outside the ship - I expected that the chefs would at least make desserts on-site. We also had to pay $6 for a small loaf of bread to share in addition to our meal - it was good, but way overpriced. We wanted this dinner to be really good and did what we could to keep it positive, but it was so disappointing. As hotel guests, we had reservations for the next day, too, but we went to Bubba Gump's down the street instead and got better food for a much better value. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this restaurant, but sincerely hope that changes will be made in the future.

The attractiveness here is the view and the Queen Mary. Servers took about an hour to come and get our order. I don't know how it is on a regular day, but Christmas Eve's service was not the most timely. Waiter was nice and kind, but again, it took a long while. Food was tasty, but not exceptional.

We had reserved for 7pm and arrived 10 minutes early but were asked to go to the bar which we did not want to do. Were told they had to seat other 7pm people first . This ended up being fine. We took the set Christmas menu. The chowder was great. Steak was wonderful as well as the salmon. Fantastic vegetables and great portions. Service was great also. We enjoyed the meal but the ambiance was a bit cold....Would return!
