Great brunch and Bloody Marys. Chelsea has a good number of brunch options with weekly specials from their standard menu.
Great for brunch
Good food and Great service! Our server was Lesley A and she was perfectly attentive.
Great brunch destination with a great menu and drink options.
Amazing food! I got the Chelsea burger. The trio fries were also spectacular
Our server was really good. Attention to detail, very friendly and terrific service. Was not aware of a 20% covid fee surcharge. However all in all a good experience. Thank You.
Warning! 20% service fee added to your bill. Not listed on here. The restaurant was mostly empty but my husband and I were seated immediately next to a very rowdy group. Nothing against the group but they seriously couldn’t have sat us a few tables away. We didn’t notice the service fee until we had already placed or order for apps and drinks. Our wings and pretzels were amazing! Loved them. Unfortunately I ordered the turkey Burger and it was not cooked through. Turkey burgers should not be pink and mushy. I let my server know that I wasn’t pleased and she asked it I wanted to order something else. She made no attempts to remove the meal from our bill. Not even a manager stopped by our table to check in. Very displeased. Not worth the money.
Overall it is a good place to eat. We have been here many times before. Good food and service. It was very crowded because there was a concert scheduled for later that evening at a venue across the street. The spacing between the tables was very close to accommodate the large crowd. Fortuantly the people beside us were very friendly, because we were so close it felt like we were all together.
This was our first time dining here. It was mediocre at best. Definitely would not eat here again. The waitress was very friendly, and the service was great. The food was mediocre. We started off with the brussels sprouts with bacon and cheese which actually were OK, the brussels sprouts were a little hard for our liking.I had the black and blue burger which was nothing special. My side Caesar salad was drenched in salad dressing and not edible. My husband had the turkey Reuben, which was just OK. We had the pumpkin pie cheesecake for dessert which was actually pretty good. My Tito’s and club soda was weak.Overpriced for what you get.I would try somewhere else.
Haven’t been there in a number of years. Looking for a place that was convenient to where I was in Chelsea Tavern who is it on a Sunday night. Places aging a bit and it was moderately busy. Service was pretty good.
This was my second visit in just over a week. A great brunch menu. Food is delicious.
Food was very bland. Service was bad.
The booths are a bit small. The server was good, on a few occasions she took a while to return to the table. Once she look in the direction of the table I was able to get her attention.
Pre-theater brunch was delicious, generous, and peaceful. Highly recommended.
Lower rating on value due to a 20% upcharge as of this writing due to COVID.
First time diners. My turkey wrap was fresh and tasty…coconut shrimp starter was excellent, crispy…pretzel cruller great with herb butter and cheese. Husband had mushroom soup…said it was excellent….it must be cuz he makes his own and he’s very picky. Service was wonderful. Will definitely return. 👍🏻
Service was good and the server herself was pleasant and attentive. Food was good and prices are reasonable. Plus the convenience of the location across from the Grand can’t be beat.
Chelsea Tavern is ok. Standard pub food. Nothing special, but a good place to eat if you are going to a show across the street.
First post-pandemic return to what was for years a favored spot. Disappointing to say the least. Arrived for our 6:30 reservation to be told we were being seated outdoors. At no point was there any indication in the reservation process that even hinted at outdoor seating - it is October! That was unacceptable, especially since a member of our party was a senior with health issues. We were given an indoor table after I objected. We ordered within 5 minutes of being seated - 2 sandwiches, a burger and an order of fish and chips. 50 minutes later, our food finally showed up. However, the burger ordered medium, was nothing but a pile of raw meat! Not rare, but literally nothing but raw meat, not even warm thru. Our waitress did secure a replacement but as we had theatre tickets, our member barely had time to wolf down about half the burger. Management did remove the burger from our tab. Overall, a very unpleasant experience for which we were assessed an automatic 20% additional service charge on our bill. One would assume that if if an establishment feels justified in assessing a service charge, they should be providing at least acceptable service. We'll be eating elsewhere in the future.
Knowing how crowded the Chelsea gets when there is a show at the Opera House, I made a reservation for 6:15 since the show was at 8. Arrived a little after 6 and it was about 20 after before a hostess ever even appeared at the desk. She couldn't find our reservation even though I had a confirmation number. Had me spell our name again, then said it looked like they seated our party already and there were no other tables available. Luckily someone was just leaving so I asked to have their table. She was hesitant but let us sit there. Service was unusually slow. We got our food with only a half hour before showtime. Waiter never checked with us to see if we wanted drink refills. Got the check and they are automatically adding a 20% service fee to the checks! I normally tip over 20% anyway even when service is lousy but I was shocked to see that they added it to the bill. Next show we will most likely go somewhere else. It's so loud in there you can't have a conversation anyway.
Our reservation was not honored. Several other parties had reservations for the same time and no tables were available for any of us. We left and had dinner elsewhere. Never going back here!
This is a convenient stop prior to attending a show at one of the venues in the street. Beer selection is great, cocktail program insured there’s always something you will like. The food is always good
Food was not as good as it has been. Waitress was not as attentive as previous waitstaff. Felt sorry for Joe - he was working harder than everyone else. Beer selection super, as always
My husband and I were going to a show and we wanted to have dinner
Food was good, service was great
This restaurant was a wonderful surprise. We were looking for an eatery near The Grand since we were seeing Thursdays show. The Tavern has wonderful unique Martini's and a very versatile menu. We dined on starters of Wings , Brussel Sprouts , Quesadilla , and then Caesar Salads, Quinoa w/shrimp and Turkey Reubens. The 4 of us shared and everything was excellent. We can't wait to go back again. And we will be requesting our server Q because she is excellent, checking on us just often enough .
We’re visiting from out of town. Sometimes you walk into a place and it feels right. The waitress was helpful and her food suggestions were right on. The mushroom soup and short ribs were just what we needed. Hope to return
The food was OK but far from outstanding. It was a busy night and the staff was hustling but it made for pretty slow service. Doubt we’ll be back.
As always our dinner here was delicious! This has become our go to place when seeing a show at the Opera House across the street. What started as a convienence, due to location, has become something to look forward to! We always love the food, drink selections and the service is always great! We enjoyed the special tator tot appetizer, my husband had a perfectly cooked steak, while I enjoyed the special pan seared scallops. We topped everything off with one of their desserts!
First time and enjoyed. Food was very good and so was service.
We had the coconut shrimp appetizer. Only 4 small shrimp and they tasted burnt. I had the Turkey wrap and is was good. Overall, ok but not fine dinning.
Great place for a pre-show meal. Our server was outstanding!
Great food! Maddie was a friendly & helpful server!
The food was ok. I was expecting a little higher quality from the menu descriptions. The service was pretty good for being short-staffed. It was a little dark and loud for a comfortable brunch. Would probably be fine for dinner and bar time. The thing that put us off the most was the 20% additional "COVID FEE". I was trying to find out if that was a normal thing in Delaware, as we are from out of town. I am hoping that the restaurant utensils, tables, etc. were being cleaned thoroughly before the pandemic. So I'm not sure of the charge. I hope it doesn't cause people to tip the servers less. I know they are struggling right now.
Our go to place. Always good food and beer selection.
We arrived at 1230 and did not get our brunch order for an hour! Our drinks also took forever. The food was great and our server was nice but 2 hours for breakfast food and drinks is not acceptable.
Tip should be according to service not automatic, this allows a server to choose when to return to the table.
CT continues to be a consistently good place to eat. Outdoor seating along the side of the building was very nice for a July evening with low humidity. Service was OK and I think the kitchen staff is a bit strained based on comments from our server. Meal was good but not quite as good as we have had previously. I had tuna and my husband had the seafood stew special. All fresh and cooked correctly. They are adding a 20% service charge to all checks which goes to the servers. It is called out on the menu so there is no surprise when the bill arrives. We were fine with that approach given the beating the food service industry has taken during COVID. Tip: Always order trio fries!!
Everything was exceptional
It was unbearably hot inside when it should have been well airconditioned. Food was less than average. Service was the only plus. 20% is included in the bill. No wonder.
Outdoor seating is a nice plus; recommend sticking with the basics here
