It was okay. The waitress was so busy but, there was barely anyone in there. I was expecting to like it more than I did. I don’t think we will return. Although the fries were very good.
As always, food was delicious, service was great.
The chicken breast on the sandwich I ordered was not thoroughly cooked.
Great service and good food
19 year Anniversary
Great selection of beers and a very solid bar menu. Our large group was well taken care of and food was good.
Large section of beers, outstanding service and good food.
Coffee was great. Our servers were very friendly and attentive. Omelet and egg pie were cold and not tasty. Crab cake sandwiches were ok. Sides (potatoes) were not edible-cold and chewy. Restrooms were awful.
The food choices are unique and amazing. I would like to see more savory vegetarian options. Yum
Great food, great value, but despite it being very empty on a Wednesday, night, there wasn't a lot of attention paid to our table by the server.
Our table was ready, service was very good, menu options were adequate and everyone enjoyed their selections. There was a male team of 25-30 people that made the noise level a bit more than "energetic"
Great food. Good place for a business meeting
We had a nice brunch on the patio, which was secluded away from the street. The area is covered, and we enjoyed the classic rock music and still were able to have easy conversation. Everyone enjoyed cocktails or beer and the many brunch choices. It would have been nice to have more salad choices other than Caesar (especially the beer salad which is always great) and another vegetarian choice than the omelet that wasn’t a sandwich.
atmosphere is nice, food was good, service was friendly, but slow. We did have a larger party of 10, but the resturant was less than half full and it took a very long time for our meals to be served. Not the server's fault I realize.
Wonderful food, beer and service as always!
Excellent tavern choice. Good service. Fun enviornment.
We had excellent food and service at Chelsea Tavern. The prix fix dinner had generous portions of the charcuterie (wonderful smoked duck and other meats), pork loin with spinach and sweet potatoes, and snickers pie with Woodside Dairy ice cream. The pork was tender and moist (the best we have tried in past year +). The California Reuben was very good, and the beet salad was just as good as in the past. We would have liked a few browns, porters, or scotch ales on tap list.
we go to Chelsea before performances of Delaware Symphony since it is across the street. it is convenient and food and service are good and reasonably priced.
Chelsea Tavern is always a great experience. Great food, friendly staff and good service.
We went for mother's day brunch, and everything was Fantastic! Parking is the only tough part about this place, but I heard that depending where you park, they can add a credit to your bill
I had two meals at Chelsea Tavern when visiting Wilmington. Dinner was a much better contender than brunch, but I'd recommend this spot for both meal-types.
At dinner, we had the pulled pork sandwich and Buffalo wings. Both were outstanding. Definitely splurge and have the trio fries - the aioli was absolutely delicious, with just enough kick. Our friends loved their entrees as well.
At brunch, we had to have a do-over on two of our entrees, but it was Mother's Day, so they were swamped. They were really nice about it. My husband's eggs benedict were overdone, and my omelette was missing ingredients. The coffee was terrible :) but we didn't complain, because the mimosas were delightful.
The real standout at this place is the fantastic service. The place has a chill vibe, and the staff were all really nice! Even though this is billed as a "gastropub", and the food really IS way better than your standard pub grub - there isn't any attitude about it. Highly recommended for a relaxed meal of delicious food.
Great place however the service was a little off. The fries were really oily; that may be by design though. My beer sat at the bar for almost twenty minutes while the staff was standing next to it. The server also spilled it on the way over without topping it off. If you’re a beer drinker, you know what I mean. Otherwise, I would still recommend this place. Seems like the staff was just having an off day.
We love the breakfast nachos! Brunch is always fantastic!
A perfect place for a pre-opera lunch. The mushroom bisque was delicious and the roasted beet salad outstanding.
Great place to grab a bite before our show at the Queen. Very close to the Grand also and downtown Wilmington. Nice server who knew her stuff and attended to us very nicely. Will definitely go again.
I was not happy with Open Table. It let me book an 11am reservation when the restaurant did not open until 11:30am.
I also thought that the Jambalaya was too salty and the rice was a little soggy. It was perfect once I took it home and made Jasmine rice.
Overall, the restaurant had great service, the ambiance was cool, and the Calamari was great!
Nice casual dining in a nice, somewhat dark, good restaurant with a downtown atmosphere. Cool nice people around, young and old. A good menu brunch. Overall we were pleased.
Our waiter was very nice and the food was good. The Tavern is located across the street from the The Grand Opera house so it was very convenient to attend the opera after lunch.
Convenience to the Grand, Chelsea Tavern's food has always been disappointing to me. It sounds great on the menu, but execution is not up to snuff and service before an event is slow (the kitchen's fault, I think) -- so get a very early reservation. Drinks and bar snacks are the best way to go here.
Food was good, waiter was very attentive.....
Made a reservation with no difficulty.
Will definitely return for another visit.
Good food and service. A great spot to eat dinner before a show at the Grand.
Pre show dinner and drinks
Awesome place! Day or night vibe is always on point.
Our reservation was not recognized. The staff were cleaning up a "Party", abd the service was awkward.
We went to Chelsea Tavern for Restaurant Week. We have been there a few times before (for lunch and dinner) and enjoyed great food and a large beer selection. For this visit, the service was pleasant but seemed a bit slow based on the few diners at the time. Beer flights were good. :) Clam Chowder was very good. Quinoa salad was good. Bacon-wrapped filet, green beans and mashed potatoes were great and cooked perfectly. Duck breast was good. Roasted Brussels sprouts were overcooked and WAY too salty. Server offered to remake them and the replacements were even more overcooked and looked boiled instead of roasted, with no seasoning at all. Bleh! The server offered another side or a salad, which was nice. The manager stopped at our table and gave us a small gift card towards a future visit, which was also nice. Although it was the first night of the special restaurant week menu, they were out of one of the desserts. They subbed a Snickers torte, that was very good. The bread pudding was more like a custard, but tasty. Overall, a decent meal and service, but we wont be racing back anytime soon. We will likely explore more of the places in the area before deciding to return.
Our dinner was great and so was our service. Our sever Danielle was very attentive and great service with a smile.
We all had good meals - and a great beverage selection (it IS a tavern). The burger, salmon entree, and white bean chili were the best of the table. Convenient to the Opera House... of course.
We had the tuna and the rib eye steak and they were both delicious. The accompanying sauces and sides were yummy. Nice place!
Great restaurant, went before a show in town on a Saturday night, service was excellent, food was incredible, will definitely be coming back!!
Only one seafood entree on the menu .. should have a couple specials during Friday’s in Lent
