Chelsea Ristorante Ratings and Reviews
Consistently excellent! This is the best Italian Restaurant in Chelsea, and it competes with the best in New York. What makes this place so special is the very warm greeting, the excellent professional service and of course the very good Italian food that is served from the large menu. Chelsea Ristorante never disappoints and it is a place that I would recommend very highly.
Have not been to Chelsea Ristorante for years. I found it better than before, excellent in fact. The green fettuccine was delicious as was the fried zucchini. Their cappuccino was the best. Good cocktails. The service was right-on, friendly, efficient and welcoming. This is a well managed restaurant. They know what they are doing.
Wish this place were in San Francisco, where I live! Am thrilled to have found this family-owned
sweet and terrific Italian restaurant in Chelsea. I'll definitely head back here next time I'm in the City. The crab tomato sauced pasta is spectacular, and the pizza is perfect- beautifully thin and so tasty. Thank you, Chelsea Ristorante!!
The service is good. Main dishes are good. Food is a little skimpy, especially the salads and the vegetables served with main dishes. I'd be ashamed to serve that tiny quantity of vegetables.Salads are not great, especially for the cost. Caprese salad is two pieces of mozzarella and two unripe tomatoes for $15. Wine is amazingly overpriced for the inferior quality wine that is served. Suggest beer or a cocktail alternative.
These guys treat us like royalty every time. Donnie, Ajid, Lab and the rest of the crew always make us feel welcome and special. The Spaghetti alla Vongole was delicious and large for an appetizer portion, the Veal Valdostana is my favorite and always exceptional.
Simple yet elegant & absolutely delicious food with lovely & solicitousness staff. Love the outdoor, outdoor/ indoor or indoor options. Our first visit to this sparkling gem of a restaurant which most certainly will not be our last! Thank you for a wonderful dining experience!!
Chelsea Ristorante is the ultimate neighborhood restaurant. It is an Italian joint that serves wonderfully prepared dishes that are served by the friendliest waiters imaginable. There is always a warm greeting from n the local atmosphere with a great bar and many choices on the large menu. Not only would I happily recommend this restaurant, but the fact that my wife and I frequent it often, means we feel this is a very special NYC place to enjoy a good meal that is always worth the moderate price. Talk to Donnie, he will always make you feel right at home ....,
I used to work down the block, which is how I discovered this restaurant. The food is delicious and it has a nice atmosphere. I always bring friends and relatives here from out of town for good Italian food. The service was very good. My only problem with this visit, was that it was very warm out and the air conditioning was not very high. Then they opened the front doors, and it got even warmer.
One of the most disappointing Italian meals I've eaten in NYC. I should have known from how empty the restaurant was on a Sat afternoon. The food was really mediocre. My friends had the pizza and it average. I ordered the pasta of the day and it was just bland even with the chopped bacon in it. I would have gotten more satisfaction eating something from the supermarket aisle. Service was passable. At one point, the waiter interrupted our ordering to chat with a friend. I wouldn't go back again. It's just not worth it.
I have never had a bad meal here and I have never had less than good service here. For me, it is the little details that count - water glass being filled without being asked, wine being poured by the server as needed. This is a restaurant that simply knows how to offer a pleasant dining experience with good food.
Very good dining experience. Four different main dishes, all ample and well-prepared, as were the appetizers. Reasonable prices. Very good service, although a little hurried on a Saturday night. The one fault is the not so extensive wine list, with the available wines being overpriced.
Chelsea Restorante is a hidden gem in the Chelsea neighborhood. We have been going for many years and it does not disappoint. Their pastas are great and live that a half portion can be ordered. All their appetizers are good, but the grilled vegetables and artichokes are excellent. We have a vegetarian in our family and there are many wonderful dishes to choose from. Their wood burning oven makes a wonderful crusty pizza.
Chelsea Ristorante is probably my favorite Italian restaurant in Manhattan. From the minute you walk in you are greeted with a smile from either Nino, Jimmy, Artie, Adrian, Luis or Eki. Very warm and friendly. The food is amazing. Of course it has wonderful pasta and other Italian favorites. The pizza is top notch. They also have a wonderful grill for steaks, pork chops, etc. Once you go you'll be back. And don't worry if it's not on the menu; if they have the ingredients, they'll prepare it for you. An amazing neighborhood find!
I was seeking an authentic New York dining experience for my team of business associates. We were not disappointed! Chelsea Ristorante is easy to get to, even for those who may be intimidated by the New York Subway. It is steps from the 14th Street stop on the 8th Avenue line. The food was wonderful with a good selection of options at affordable price points and the service attentive. I would definitely recommend Chelsea Ristorante as an authentic experience, yet away from the crush of the mid-town crowds.
