Took a dear friend for her birthday, the first time here, and it was just right. The food was excellent--steak perfect, halibut also, not easy to cook fish perfectly, but it was--and the sides were excellent. Gourmet cooking, I'd say, but at a good price. The wine list was very small, but the wine was good and the glass filled and then some. Good value indeed. We had a quiet and happy time--compliments to chefs and server.
This restaurant is woefully bad. If you go, you will be paying a significant sum to be their guinea pigs for food and service. All of their food is oversalted and will leave you incredibly thirsty. The tastes of many of the dishes will also turn your stomach. We asked for medium well steak and received rare and we sent it back, then received burnt steak the second time, with a comment from the head chef trying to argue with us it wasn't burnt. Their A/C is also broken so be prepared to eat your food in a sauna like environment.
The restaurant was experiencing air conditioning problems, so it was a little warm. The service was terrible! Our server finally brought water. Disappeared for awhile. I observed him across the dinning room unpacking glassware in an anti-room. When he finally came back to our table, I mentioned that we felt abandoned, He replied " sorry, I had to wipe some glasses". We had to ask, and then wait, for a wine list. Our party of 4 waited a long time to get our orders taken. When the wine glasses were empty, there was no server within sight. Still no food! I had to go to a service door and wait for someone to appear to complain that we were being ignored. Our food finally arrived and then while were trying to eat, a manger found his way to our table and wanted to visit! The food was good but the evening was not a pleasant experience. We've have dined at Chef di Domani many times but I don't know if we'll return.
Our tradition for the last several years has been to celebrate several family member's birthdays at Chefs di Domani. We have loved the food, service, and experience! But this year, the service was terrible. The waiter didn't know the menu, didn't bring our food in the right order, and took too long in meeting our needs (like refills, our food in a timely manner, delivering a knife he forgot to bring in the first place).
We thought maybe he was new to the school, so we tried to be patient, but then he shared that he is just a few months away from graduating! It appeared that the other tables were having similar experiences with different wait staff. I saw food being returned to the kitchen and a table that seated shortly after us didn't get their food until we were completely finished and waiting for the ticket; maybe an hour and half later.
I don't know what specifically has changed in the program, but those changes have not been positive. I used to share with others about this great experience, but I just don't feel I can do that anymore. We are very disappointed that we will need to find a new birthday tradition.
That being said, the food was amazing! The ribeye was like butter and the salmon was delicious! We all raved about the flavor of everything we ordered.
The restaurant was not even open. I went the week of July 4, and there was no notification that they would not be open. I'll have to try some other time on a non-holiday week.
Three persons in out group
Each said food was too salty
Out of wine
Past experiences excellent
We walked in and the whole place was empty. The floor was dirty and employees/ students were poorly dressed. I wanted to leave but decided to give restaurant s chance. I thought it was overpriced and will not recommend to friends or be back.
I would recommend Chefs di Domani to anyone! It’s definitely worth the time and price! Prepare to spend about $20 per person, but it’s completely worth it! You won’t be sorry!
We have eaten here twice, and we are so impressed can time we visit! The food, atmosphere, and service have been excellent each time! They make sure you always have a pleasant experience when you dine in! It’s definitely worth the drive!!
Great food and service. Will go back! Fun to see excited young chefs at work.
Our food was perfect in every way.the steaks were tender as butter. the potatoes were full of flavor. desert was elegant. Every individual that came to our table was charming, I look forward too my next meal here. Thanks to all that served me,
Service was excellent. Soup and dessert were amazing. Steak was great for the price point.
The online menu was different than the actual menu, so call before you go. We went there for a certain thing. They ended up making it for us but it was a modified version and was good not great. Got the crab cakes which were odd, I feel like they were fish cakes. Tasted, smelled, flaked apart like fish. I don’t know though. Service was good, rolls were awesome. Been twice, the last time was great all around so it may have just been an off night.
It's a chef and restaurant school. They work hard to please. The food is good. Don't be afraid to go there. Good experience.
My wife and I went here for a date. We had not been to the restaurant for over a year. It was nice to see that they are still serving the same high-quality, delicious food with high-quality service.
Our reservation was recognized when we arrived. We started off with the arancino appetizer. This week's stuffing was beef short rib. (Short rib was also available as an entree). There were three on our plate. They were placed on top of a creamy white (yogurt-based?) sauce combined with drizzles of balsamic vinegar. Some sprouts were added on top for a pleasant looking garnish. The outside coating was crispy, the rice inside was al dente, and there was just enough short rib and carrot to give some bites a good chew.
I ordered the delmonico (boneless ribeye) steak. I asked for it to be cooked medium well. It came out what I would consider to be medium since it was pink all the way through but not bloody inside. However, I didn't send it back before my first bite was delicious. It was so large, though, that I took it home for two more meals. The steak was served with a generous amount of crispy, fried onions on top. They were tasty, but I don't care for fried onions very much. The fried onion lovers out there will probably find these to be some of the best that they have ever had. It also came with some creamy mashed potatoes and crisp, cooked asparagus.
My wife ordered the fried chicken and waffle. I tried a little bit of the waffle. It was delicious because they put real bacon bits in it.
They gave us a complimentary dessert because our special occasion. There was a flaky pastry with fluffing frosting and berries in between the layers, and there was a ball of chocolate mousse with a chocolate cookie crumb crust underneath. I enjoyed every bite of the chocolate mousse concoction.
Chef D’s is a great experience! Not only amazing food, but also an opportunity to help the students improve. Our favorite restaurant by far!
I will definitely return
This is the teaching restaurant for Platt College culinary arts school. As such, it is a bit sparsely on the decor and the menu is rather limited. However, the food is very good and well prepared. The portions are a bit large. Maybe some work portion management would be in order. Overall, I would recommend it for a nice evening out and it's also gratifying to know that you are assisting folks who are learning their profession. We will be going back
This was a wonderful experience for my birthday dinner. People don’t think to go here, so it is pretty quiet. The food is prepared thoughtfully and was cooked just right. My husband and I both had the ribeye which was cooked to perfection and was more than either of us could finish. It was accompanied by asparagus that was cooked to just the right doneness. They served an artisan butter with their soft rolls that was delicious too. We were too full for dessert, but will definitely be back to try it.
My girlfriend and I had a good experience here on Friday night. No crowd. Good food. We will be back.
They need serious training for the wait staff, very poor service, room is very plain and unappealing. Should list in information on open table that it is a teaching restaurant.
Chefs di Domani is a nice dining experience.
They have Arancino which vary weekly. Ours were crunchy and savory.
My wife had the Duck Breast. The sauce served with it was a little too sweet, but nice brussel sprouts accompanied it.
I had the Delmonico ribeye.
It was cooked perfectly, and served with delicious tobacco onion straws.
Was the food out-of-this-world?
But it was plentiful, very reasonably priced, and we had a nice time.
Always great food!
Understaffed. Especially when party of 14 shows up. Pleasant waiter but he was running all over the place. Felt sorry for him. We 4 all loved our meals. Food and dessert was marvelous. Tho dessert was slow to arrive.
Wonderful place. Great value. This is a school, so not everything will be perfect.
The service was bad because only 2 waiters on Fri night. We thought the food was excellent. My salmon could have been a little less cooked. My husbands Fried chicken was as good as a southern grandmas . Everything took a long time. Ordering , getting served , etc. We ordered a second glass of wine but had already finished our meal when we said to forget it. Our fault not to catch it but we were still charged and paid for the second glasses of wine. We want to try it again but hope they Staff it with more help.
I ordered the special. The special was the final exam. I had bratwurst, cabbage, and pan fried potatoes. It was served at the correct temperature and was quite good. The chocolate dessert was fine.
We had a group of eleven people dining all together. We were started off with rolls, plus three types of butter. The butters were cinnamon, garlic, and regular. My favorite was the cinnamon butter. A group of us then shared some scallops as appetizers. I'd never eaten a scallop before (land-licked Oklahoman!), but I loved whatever was used to crust them. I personally had the Del Montico special, and my steak was cooked exactly as asked. I got a to-go box for half of my entree so I could have room for dessert. I chose triple-layered mousse, and it was delicious. One aspect of dining was that every dish set before us was beautifully plated. I'll be saving money to go back!
Great food, quiet atmosphere, enjoyed the selection
The food was wonderful. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful. The only problem I had with Chefs Di Domani was the wine list. My friend drinks red wine and I drink white. There was no red wine at all and only 1 kind of white. I don't even know what to say about that. I have never been to a place with that kind of a problem.
The waiter was great. Loved the wine I had. King Fu Girl Resisling. Best mashed potatoes I've ever had. Steak Cooked correctly but terrible quality of meat and so greasy which should ever had been an issue. There was only one dessert option, which was bread pudding, something I do not like at all. Needed soft music playing. And there were guys washing the outside of the building with a power sprayer right where we were seated. Super loud and annoying.
We have been here 3 times. Normally the food is very good and the service is sketchy at best. Chefs in training do not make good waiters. This night we got an off bottle of wine that was awful and the waitress spilled a whole glass of red wine on my friend. All they comped was $15. His entire meal should have been comped. Service was extremely slow. We were there two hours. If you catch it on a good night it is a good value as the prices are reasonable and the food is usually very good. This night the short rib was way over cooked and dry. The salmon was also over cooked. It is a nice quiet atmosphere. We may give it one more chance.
We have eaten at this restaurant before and was impressed by the food and service. However, this time was different. We did not get the Open Table points because the person who seated us did not check us in...even though we specifically stated this was an Open Table res. The server was not very smart, knew nothing about the menu and when we asked about a special she brought over a pad that you would take orders on and said her it is written down "cause I aint gonna lie" I don't even know. She was more interested in standing at the booth next to us and visiting than taking care of any other diners. Other staff hung out at that table as well, carrying on a conversation and ignoring everyone else dining. At one point, I saw a lady across the room stand and wave her napkin in the air trying to get someone's attention. Service was horrible. The food was good as always. When it came time to get the check, it took 15 minutes for her to figure out what we owed. She made several mistakes. It was a horrible experience. I have been here several times but am not sure I will ever return. This is a culinary school so I not only expect great food, I expect great service. I at least expect to get my Open Table points.
Simply amazing! The duck is one of the best I've had in OKC. You can't go wrong here no matter what you choose.
Sorry but our dinner was over a 1 1/2 late from our 6:30 reservation. Appetizer took over 35 minutes. Maybe someone on your staff should pay District 21 a visit.
Didn't know this place existed. It was fantastic. Great food and very reasonable prices.
Valentine's Day 2017 was outstanding... the service, food, value and atmosphere were perfect. Chefs di Domani is one of our favorite places!
We were very pleased with the special Valentine's Day Dinner for two!
The service was very good and the food delicious and so artfully presented. Love this place!
Visited here for the first time by randomly picking a new place we hadn't tried. Ended up with an excellent ribeye and a pretty good duck!
I had a reservation with specific instructions regarding the reason for eating at Platt (birthday celebration). When we arrived I wasn't asked who I was or if we had a reservation. After being shown to our table it took 10 minutes to place our order. Then it took almost an hour to get our meal. We both ordered the Delmonico steak cooked medium well. Both steaks were rare, and the meat was tough to cut. I kept sliding back in my chair trying to cut the steak. The potatoes were not seasoned properly.
While waiting an hour for our undercooked steaks another waiter came to our table and asked if we wanted dessert. We explained to her that we hadn't eaten yet.
Finally, after the meal was over, the same waiter came back and asked if we wanted dessert. I explained to her that we were there celebrating my dates birthday (which should have been realized if my reservation had been checked). The waiter offered a slice of chocolate cake. The cake was dry. It was not fresh, and had been in the refrigerator. We only ate half of it.
The dinner rolls, and honey butter, were good. That was about the only redeeming quality of the entire experience.
I had heard good things about Platt, but it was from people who had eaten lunch there. I guess the dinner choices, and staff, are different. As a result of our experience I simply can't recommend Platt.
Sorry, but you asked for my review and this is what happened.
