   Chef Jj Johnson has created a menu that is unlike anything on the restaurant scene in NYC. In a crowded space of competing establishments both old and new, his menu is a breath of fresh air that delicately explores the flavors of Afro-Asian cuisine.

   Pretty disappointing. Went for JJ Johnson. No actual JJ Johnson. His menu was solid but not as good as at Cecil's. Service was slow and amateurish. Not much charm

   I have been there several times and enjoyed the meals but found this particular dinner by JJ Johnson to be overpriced.

   We always love the eclectic menu offerings at Chef's Club. The beef and oyster tartare was delicious and our waitress was excellent . Always new things to discover here. Love the ever changing roster of chef's and concepts.

   Enjoy the privilege of tasting different dishes created by the most famous Chefs in the USA all on the same menu page, with a view on the open kitchen, that makes it homy.

   The food was good but not as anticipated. In that context, the place was too pricey. A beef tartare with oysters is creative, but not if the accompanying toast points were far too thin and not more than plain (hard) white bread. On the other hand, the starter pizza was truly excellent! My wife and daughter looked forward to their croque monsieurs which were disappointing: they came straight out of the refrigerator. Idea promising, execution falling short. The Russian River Chardonnay was excellent, my vodka gimlets impeccable (but pouring was less than generous). Finally, Moina, our waitress was genuine, friendly and attentive, but the fact that we had to wait half an hour for our cold appetizers is shoddy. It may not have been her fault (the kitchen was busy taking care of a big party - the place was only 25% full when we sat down) but we had to complain. To his credit, the manager came to apologize (albeit with the same lame excuse) but did not offer a round of drinks on the house either. Hoping it was just an off night, we will try it again before giving up.

   We had a great first visit. Can't wait to go back. Apps were on point, steaks cooked great, pasta uni entree very good. Server was very good, somm was helpful with wines.

    The appetizer selection was eclectic, too eclectic. The portions were too large for one person and there should have been a simple salad on offer. We had just been seated when the lights went down (making it difficult to read the menu) and the music cranked up (making it difficult to hear one another or the wait staff).
