Chef Tony's is one of our favorite restaurants. I am hooked on his Scallops. Have never found hem better anywhere else. This last visit, we were celebrating our 65th anniversary. Wouldn't have wanted it anywhere else.

Where else can you get a great mojito with mint from their own garden? The seared scallops were seared to perfection, the calamari tender and the poached eggs Chesapeake divine. So other than good food, what's so great about Chef Tony's? I think the willingness of the staff to go the extra mile to be sure that each customer leaves with a smile is exceptional..

Fantastic place. The first time I went (2 years ago) I was not overly impressed. I think the server that day was not great. However, earlier this year, someone recommended that we go back and I was blown away. I am not easy to impress. Best food in that price range I have had in DC. Great staff, good and changing menu, fresh ingredients, and a fantastic chef. Highly recommended.

My wife and I had a very nice, romantic seafood dinner at Chef Tony's. Atmosphere was very nice, the food was very good and reasonable, particularly given it's quality. The calamari appetizer could have been a main dish, and the desserts were (chocolate sin cake and creme brulee) were very good.

The food was very disappointing. It is a seafood place and we had probably the worst good we've ever tried.. The canolli tasted old. The service was good however.

We have eaten here several times before and this time were really treated like family! We were welcomed by name at the door and asked which member of our party was celebrating a birthday. Everything on the menu was explained clearly and the service was impeccable. Chef Tony came out a couple of times to say hi and check in with us in person. I even received a call the next day thanking us for choosing to come to Chef Tony"s on my birthday. Very welcoming!!

Perhaps it was the high ratings from prior diners or our ordering but this place fell below expectations. The appetizers were weak and the portions were paltry. The calamari which was oily. The salad, bread and olive oil were subpar as well. The scallops were good and perhaps the secret is to simply order the fish mains. Service was very good but it comes down to the food and it was disappointing.

The atmosphere was very nice for a romantic dinner for two. It was dark and quiet and we sat in a narrow "hallway" that felt very private. Appetizers (calamari and mussles) and desserts (creme brulee and chocolate sin cake) were very delicious, but the main courses were just okay. I had the grilled trout and my husband had the sole and the restaurant is known for the seafood. The grilled trout was dry and bland. Side dishes of roasted potatoes and wilted spinach were simple and tasty, but nothing special. The service was very good--no complaints there. The staff were knowledgeable about the menu items and helped us make some selections and they were attentive throughout the meal. I am not sure if we will go back there for dinner or not.

We live in Virginia and rarely go to Bethesda to eat. We had tickets for Strathmore and picked this restaurant because Open Table gave it good reviews. It exceeded expectations for the food and was reasonable priced. A wonderful experience.
