We love chef soon. It's one of our regular stops. Fireball, Millennium, Seven Spiced Ahi, Blue Toro Roll...Are all amazing. They have the highest quality fish. I've been to sushi restaurants in Chicago, New York and LA that are 2x expensive and don't hold a candle to Soon.
Spectacular sushi offerings in a contemporary atmosphere. Great cocktails and bar accented by excellent service round out a superb experience
Great tasting and fresh sushi. Eaten here several times and everything has been great.
Outstanding taste..My daughters teally loved Seven Bridges sushi...wish portions were bigger as its pricey. Like my older said : its really good but Blue Fish in Northbrook still better and lower price. I dont believe her, so I will have to go there too.
Thank you for great service.
Really good versions of the standard sushi rolls, and many innovative creations. Top ranked were the Green Turtle, Dragon Fest, and Sunset rolls. The Summer Roll is in a category by itself - incredibly light and refreshing and needs no wasabi or soy sauce. Recommend finishing with this one.
Really high-end sushi/sashimi selections without having to go to the city!
Kitchen dishes are usually hit or miss. For example, the appetizer, Salmon Roulette, was delicious. Whereas, Beef Negimaki, a typical Japanese appetizer, tasted alright, was not on point due to uneven thickness of the beef slices and the uneven bundle of ingredients across the dish.
Keep in mind this is a "Contemporary Sushi" restaurant and not a traditional Japanese spot. With that in mind, sushi and sashimi's are very fresh, premium cuts and selections. One can easily observe that Chef Soon takes great pride in his sashimi, nigiri, and maki rolls with their attention to detail on cuts, evenness, sauces and presentation.
In terms of service, my first visit was lack of service. Second time around we sat right in front of Chef Soon and our waitress was very much on top of her game. I️ wonder if seating had to do with service.
Overall, I️ recommend this restaurant. I️ want to give Chef Soon a 5 Star, in time, may they get there.
Unfortunately Chef Soon wasn’t there and it was quite obvious due to the quality of the sushi rolls, the cuts of fish and the presentation. I will never go there on a Thursday again.
One of the best, if not the best, sushi restaurants in the Chicago suburbs.
Chef soon has creative and incredibly tasty sushi. Our favorite spot for sushi!
Amazing sashimi as always!
As usual our meal and service was outstanding. This is the best Sushi in the Western suburbs*
Loved the food and our server, Laura was great!
Always an amazing dining experience with Chef Soon. An unique array of tasty delights and mixing of flavors that make you stop and say "Wow." There is no where else I can go to get this level of freshness and variety of choices.
Good, creative sushi dishes. It was nice to see that on a Monday night at 7:45 there was a decent crowd and by 9 it had picked up! Glad to see they will have outdoor seating when the weather warms up.
It is by far the finest sushi you'll find in the western burbs.
Such a great place for sushi. Cool and modern, excellent service. Amazing food.
We brought my mom here for the first time to celebrate her 88th birthday. We went at 6pm on a Wednesday and soon after the whole restaurant was full, every table, booth and sushi bar. That says a lot. We have been fans of the chef since his early days at Blu Corral then his own small spot inside a Korean bbq place in Lisle to this restaurant. The restaurant is not very big, decorated in white furnishings. Their wait staff is always good here and tonight our server Emily was so attentive and patient. She provided fantastic service! The food here is always fresh, innovative and flavorful. The pricing is on the higher side, though, compared to another one of my fav sushi places that does compare to this one. For example, I paid $15 for fatty tuna maki, which were 6 very small rolls with a small amount of tuna. I don't even think the tuna by itself weighed an ounce. Very disappointing with that price point and the amount of fatty tuna as I love it. Everything we ordered was delicious...two salads with ginger dressing, gyoza, edamame, two baked oysters, scallop appetizer, two shrimp tempuras, Philadephia maki, tuna maki, fatty tuna maki, yellowtail & scallion maki, green turtle maki, spicy tuna maki. Emily surprised my mom with a delicious piece of birthday cake, light and fluffy with fresh strawberries. So nice! My parents' first experience here went well; they loved the food and will be back. I think we converted them.
The seafood is SO fresh and the rolls are completely unique! This is a diamond in the rough as it's located in Seven Bridges along a movie theater and behind BWW. Not an ideal spot for such amazing sushi, but it's worth it! SO GOOD!
y husband and I went to Chef Soon for the first this past weekend and were very impressed with the freshness and innovation of the selections. From appetizers to Nigiri to Sashimi to the rolls everything was excellent. Although in the end, it was a little pricey, we would go back.
Exceptional maki rolls and appetizers. Talented chefs and great sushi experience. Knowledgeable server. Always a great time!
Cheer soon never disappoints! Best sushi in the Chicagoland area!
This was our first time to Chef Soon. Everything was very good. We don't know a whole lot about sushi and ordering it, but our server (Laura) was great at making suggestions. We loved everything she suggested. We will definitley be going back.
Quality fish. Creative rolls. We’ve been patrons of Chef Soon for years and it’s great to see bustling business.
Great food, small Dino by area so it gets loud!
The Best Sushi in the area! I Love This Place....
Visited with my elderly parents for Dad’s b’day- was noted on Open Table reservation though no acknowledgement of it. Unfortunate. Atmosphere lovely inside, except large windows next to booths faced outdoor seating area, which is obviously closed and, therefore, was a mess to look at! Pull blinds down to improve nicely updated, modern interior. We ate simple sushi, not too daring, probably our loss. Our sushi selections were good, though shrimp tempura appetizer was excellent- nice, light batter! That itself would bring me back! Hubby doesn’t like sushi- nice presentation of sirloin steak though meat was actually very mediocre. Our server was very patient, kind with folks and service overall was very good.
The freshest sushi selections I have found in the area. Otoro that melts in your mouth...what more can I say. We'll be back.
Best sushi in Chicago!!!
Excellent sushi - we especially enjoyed the Ocean Drive, Kamikaze, and Golden Lobster rolls.
We really like!!!! Go try
We have followed Chef Soon for many years. We love his menu and we love the wait staff!
Chef soon is absolutely amazing! My wife and I love eating out and traveling and we are lucky enough to live next to the absolute best sushi available anywhere. We have tried every Japanese restaurant within a two hour drive from our house. The only thing that comes close to this is Kai zan in humboldt Park, except for two people there you’ll be lucky to spend under $350.
This is the best sushi I’ve had in the entire Chicago area. Their service is always great, too.
Simply amazing, as always.1111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111
The food quality is high! Fresh! Very welcoming place.
Great food we will be back for sure
Excellent sushi surprise and service in the southwest suburbs. Diverse and creative menu with something for everyone at a reasonable price. We were delighted to find this gem in the burbs.
The best sushi around! Delicious, creative, fresh, amazing!
We absolutely love this place! Chef Soon's Nigiri + bites are by far the best we have found in the suburbs. Fresh and delicious sushi. Highly recommend.
