Chef Fredy's Table Ratings and Reviews
My boyfriend and I were very pleased with our date night at Chef Freddy's. We have heard good things about this restaurant and decided to try it out. It was delicious! Good portion sizes and good service. It's a BYO and there is a liquor store right next door if you forget or if you run out of wine. I had one of the special dishes, sea bass and served with mushroom risotto and my boyfriend had the chicken and pasta. Both meals were delicious. Overall, it was a great meal and we would definitely go back!
I first started going to Chef Fredy's about six months ago. I have been there about 10 times. I do not know why there is not a line out the door. The food is terrific. I can highly recommend the Crab Tower and the Jambalaya as two of my favorites. It is BYOB, which I like due to the cost savings, with the added benefit of literally having a liquor store right next door. A liquor store that has a very good selection of wines at various prices.
Everything about our Friday night dinner was wonderful beginning with the valet parking!
The service, (Gerard and Jimmy) was helpful, friendly and engaging. The food, crabmeat tower appetizer, duck and tuna dinners were prepared and served to perfection! The dessert - what a wonderful way to end the evening - key lime pie and bread pudding. My husband and I can't wait to return! Thanks to all at Chef Fredy's Table!
The redesigned interior is pleasant and inviting. The baked Brie came to the table with the top burned which ruined the taste. I asked for the burned part to be scraped off and we ate the rest which was tasty. The “Vegan Dish” on the menu was delicious-nicely seasoned. The menu special halibut was over cooked, dry and so under seasoned that none of us finished more than half. The night was saved by the raspberry chocolate cake which was amazing. The service was very attentive. Unfortunately the so-so food overshadowed the evening’s experience although I would give it another chance .
It is well located with Headquarters Plaza parking garage across the street.
I went with some friends for an early dinner on a Sunday. The place was quite but for the time I was not surprised very few people were eating at this early hour on a Sunday. The waiter and the server were very friendly put up with us asking many times about the specials. The food came out it was delicious I had soup my friends had a vegetarian appetizer all very good. I had a fish special it was excellent my friends both like their meals and they had great desserts I highly recommend going to this restaurant
We placed an order for calamari for our appetizer. The amount of calamari was small. It had a lot of the items in the dish. The point was we wanted calamari. It just so happen the special that night was surf (lobster) and turf. The lobster which I was so looking forward to was way under cook. By the time one of the waiter came by to check, I was all most done with everything else. Also so was everyone else with their meal. I choose to bring it home to finish cooking it myself. They did give us the dessert for free. But that isn't the point.
Service was terrific, decor was classy, Valet parking was awesome, food was super delicious... roasted pear salad unbelievable, pappardelle pasta dish was so delectible and the cappuccino Creme brûlée was one of the best creme brulees I've ever had! And great to meet Chef Fredy! Will definitely come back and bring more friends .. highly recommend this place!
I have always been a fan of Chef Freddy's table and try to go at least once a month. The food is phenomenal and the service is out this world. Nestor always goes above and beyond to ensure that you have the best experience as well as the rest of the staff. I cannot wait to go back and try another delicious meal.
I feel scammed. I asked for a filet mignon and charged for a filet mignon but I got something else. I had many filet mignon in the past and it never looked like this. 2 pieces of meat that didn't taste great. They had some special with some other type of steaks, I think I got that. Even though the presentation was good, I didn't get what I paid for. I wouldn't go back.
Amazing, amazing, amazing!! The last time that I was at this restaurant was when it was Tim Schaefer's Cuisine and it was located a couple doors down. My expectations were not high (but more average) going into the meal. My wife requested to go there for her birthday dinner and from the service to the meal, it was incredible. We started off with the calamari, and each got the surf and turf for our main entrees. Everything melted in our mouth, it was so good, and just the right portion size. We were both blown away by the meal, service and atmosphere. We can't wait to return again, and it just got bumped up to the top of our list!!
Good byob in Morristown. Great variety of choices for apps & entrees. Service was exceptional & atmosphere that night was quiet & perfect for good conversation. Typically packed on weekends but a weekday night was easy to secure a table. Highly recommended.
Freddy's comes through again. It's one of our favorite places for when you want to have a more casually refined dinner without drinks inflating the bill. The food runs from pasta to game and everything has a touch of uniqueness to it. Bring a good wine with you and enjoy.
We had great service. From the hostess to waiters, everyone was great. That's the high point.
The food itself was lackluster. The bread was stale. Vegetables that were served with the entrees were frozen. In the summer this is just not acceptable in a restaurant like this. The presentation was nice but the fish needed a bit of a sauce and better seasoning. The risotto seemed like it was cooked hours before. I was really disappointed as these details make the meal.
Chef Fredy's has been a favorite of mine in Morristown. Well prepared food along with friendly and attentive service makes for an enjoyable evening. The menu has changed to become more mainstream but I do miss some of the old standby dishes. The emphasis this evening was several offerings of fish with less of the southern style offerings.
