Led by Executive Chef, Matt Ginn, our CII team focuses on making sure you're eating local by utilizing produce from the island farm, the Chef's garden, and lobster from an island lobsterman.

Our menus change a few times each season to make sure we're taking advantage of all that Maine has to offer. Menu items feature casual fare with attention to detail that makes the restaurant perfect for a regular night out and a special occasion.

We offer snacks and cocktails from 2:30-9pm on our porch, making it a great gathering spot for anyone with guests, out for the day on the boat or meeting up prior to dinner.

Parking details
Chebeague Island is accessible by boat only and has limited car ferry options. Most of our guests choose to visit us using the Chebeague Transportation Ferry. For a more scenic trip, guests enjoy the Casco Bay Lines Ferry. If you're coming by your own boat, we have 8 private moorings and complimentary launch service available. Please call the hotel if you'd like to arrange a van pick up from the ferry.

Wonderful sunset on the deck. The manhattan wasn't the best but the view made up for it. The sinner was great!!

Gem of a spot! Taking the ferry to an island made the night that much more special. Chebeague Island Inn is more Maine than an LL Bean catalog!

Sunday brunch with friends. Beautiful boat ride from Peaks Island to the Inn. The setting is fantastic with a lovely view of the Maine seacoast. The food was excellent. Some in our party had brunch, others the burger. Everyone was pleased!

Beautiful setting! We took my husband's parents out to the island for lunch and enjoyed every bit of it! The food was overall very good. The service was excellent. We were able to call for transportation from the ferry as Jim's parents would not be able to make the trek up the hill and the bellman arrived very promptly. We were seated immediately and enjoyed talking with our hostess and the wait staff. Recommend enthusiastically!

The restaurant is welcoming with an efficient and friendly staff. The food was very good served by a knowledgeable and accommodating waitress. The Inn is a step back in time which is refreshing in a world full of change. My party of 7 could not have asked for a better dining experience! Wish we had discovered the water taxi earlier in the summer! Our best lunch of the summer. 5 Stars all the way around.

Took a private water taxi out for special occasion/birthday dinner. I've lived in Portland for years, and this was my first visit - and I was so happy with this choice. The location is unbeatable - sitting on the outside porch of a lovely inn watching the sun set. Ambiance was wonderful, food was creative and delicious (had the deviled egg appetizer, with duck breast main course - wonderful) and the service was truly outstanding. Incredibly attentive without being overbearing. I can't recommend highly enough. It's not super easy to get to (you can take the Casco Bay lines ferry from Portland, or another ferry from Cousin's Island) or water taxi/private boat to get there. It's 100% well worth the beautiful trip across the bay to get to it. Exceptional.

The ambiance cannot be beat at the Chebeague Island Inn. Gardens outside were in full bloom. Porch sitting there cannot be topped. Food was not good this time. Lettuce in salad was a little brown. Mussels not cooked uniformly. Some nearly raw. Size and color varied. An off day? Last time there, same food items amazing.

There seemed to be an awful lot of people working in the dining room, but service was extremely slow. Our food was delivered by the kitchen and we didn't see our waitress until the meal was over. Fortunately we were able to tell the young woman filling our water that we'd like drinks, and someone from the bar brought them over. The food was fine, this is a wonderful old building with character, and from the window we were able to see a great sunset over the water. It's just the chaotic and uneven service that detracted from the experience.

This was the second time that I have asked for a specific table, was told it would not be a problem, reconfirmed the table and then arrived at the restaurant, with my party of five, to find the table had been taken moments before our arrival. I had also purposely selected a very early seating to assure that I did not encounter an earlier party sitting at the same table and staying longer than predicted. When I pointed out the problem to the person in charge of seating, she apologized and said she had made a mistake. This is exactly the same excuse I was given the first time this happened.

I also documented the earlier seating snafu in a OpenTable Review. Based on this second experience, I would not count on the restaurant fulfilling commitments made to special requests.

As frequent patrons of this restaurant, two words come to mind....very disappointing!

This was the best dinner I had in Portland. The staff is very professional and courteous. The food was outstanding. The wine I had was amazing, went perfectly with my dinner - the cucumber salad (above and beyond!) and the butter poached lobster with littlenecks. The lobster dish was phenomenal. Homemade cornbread, corn puree, everything tasted fresh and was plated beautifully. Just as constructive feedback, the service could do better. The food was amazing, but the waitress never came by to ask how anything was (the wine, the salad, the entree, the desert). And I waited a very long time for the check. I may have been overlooked.

The ambiance can't be beat! The servers were very pleasant but our service was a bit slow as the restaurant was extremely busy. Nonetheless , it was worth the wait as the food was delicious. The Duck was very tasty and artfully prepared. The lobster bisque was delicious with chunks of sweet lobster. The pork was also very tasty. The porch is amazing and the ambiance is A+++! This is a real treat!

We came over for the day to ride bikes and have anniversary brunch - our first visit to the inn or the island. Glad we had a reservation, as we likely would not have been seated outside on the porch. Option was to also be seated on the lawn but super windy. The porch allows the option to put the plastic down and offer some protection. We ordered basic breakfast fare at what we felt was a decent price - eggs/toast/potatoes/bacon for me, and a breakfast burrito for her. We had live jazz during our meal which made it amazing. Waitress was friendly and filled coffee and water timely. Everything was cooked well, the view is out of this world and the fact that you can lounge, post meal, on the porch or any of the adirondack chairs on the lawn is an added bonus. Fun way to spend the morning - would love to go back and stay for the night to try dinner!
