Chayo Mexican Kitchen + Tequila Bar Ratings and Reviews
Sorry to be too harsh on you, but I won’t visit here ever again:(
Food was subpar... no taste and I can make way better food by myself! (Even by non-Mexican here!!!)
Especially its Asada(?) steak? Meh...
Also, NO happy hour deal for peep sitting outside... is it normal?
The only thing I like here was its ambiance due to vibe in the street.
Oh, thanks for manager’s special comment about using Groupon, “Special(?) discount was applied to your bill!”, which sounds sarcastic and I do appreciate to wrap up my experience here lol
Food was awful - very salty .We had the nachos and it tasted like the chips were out the entire day - not crunchy - kinda soggy and tasted like it had gone bad. The cheese, we were convinced was cheesewiz and tasted just as bad.
We had planned on staying there for dinner - but walked out after the drinks (which were great) .
Ambiance was ok - TVs were really really loud and had to scream to have a conversation.
Food was average at best. My carne asada was a good piece of meat but tasted like it was nothing more than dusted with taco seasoning. Wife's chicken fajitas had some odd bright green seasoning on it. Music was extremely loud, to the point or party of five couldn't even talk to each other without yelling. The margaritas and chips/salsa was good though.
The restaurant is nice looking but the food was not good and not worth the price. I’ve had better Mexican fast food at 1/4 the price. The restaurant was not even half full and we had to work very hard to get someone to take our order or to attend us in any way.
I went to this restaurant a couple of years ago and the food was much better and the menu was much more complete. They’ve condensed the menu and have stopped putting an effort into the cooking. It’s such a good location but not worth it.
Halloween night, group of 10 ppl. Reservations were changed twice by the restaurant. Did not have a comfortable seating area set up for us when we got there. Were told immediately can’t bring outside drinks in so we threw out our beverages Just to be told it would be 10 mins yet. Could have finished our drinks in that time frame. Lady taking “souvenirs” photos was super rude and not a good photographer. barely able to hear her.
Food was disorganized getting to us. Drinks took forever.
The young lady that greeted us at the check in seemed less than enthused to be there, not very friendly. Our server on the other hand was very sociable and friendly. Service was prompt. The guacamole and salsa were tasty. My wife had the shrimp fajitas which she enjoyed very much. I was excited about my short rib enchilada. Very lack luster, extremely dry and border line tepid as if it had sat for awhile. Maybe a other choice for an entree and I may have had a better experience. Based on this visit I can't say I'd honestly recommend this to anyone.
Very disappointed. Soup tasteless. In fact, table next to us also complained about soup. The waiter tried hard to make up for refried beans that came to table instead of rice. Couldn't use Groupon because it's Labor Day weekend. My hubby had to find someone to get more Diet Coke. I'm Mexican and I know Mexican food. This was horrible. I'd rather eat at Taco Bell. Take your chance but I'll pass. There's hope that managers read this review and do something about this.
We had a taste for Mexican and this was close to the THE LINQ in Vegas so we gave it a try. The chips and salsa are great to start out with . I had short rib enchiladas and they were very good. My wife had a chicken burrito that was good but could have had more chicken in it. The service was very friendly and just the right amount of attention .
The food and drinks were good and ambiance was cool. The service was just ok, server took order, brought food and brought bill. There was nothing special about the service as he did the minimal amount of service he could and never checked in with us. He's what I would call an order taker. If we needed anything we needed to call him over.
My only complaint is that it had very dim lighting in there and it was very loud. Very hard to have a conversation without practically yelling at one another. Food was good and service was okay. Charged different prices on the desserts than what was on the menu but it was corrected very quickly. I would go again.
I was very disapointed with the food. The food was terrible. Our waiter did try his best to make us happy but I would not recommend the Fajitas as the steak was burned, overcooked and did not taste like filet mignon as advertised on the menu. I saw a lot of plates being returned. The nice thing about this place is the outside dining and the location.
The food is just ok. The empanadas were good and portion sizes were decent but it really have no flavor at all. For a mexican place they should bring you hot sauce with your meal. I had the brownie with ice cream and the brownie was cold (would have been better hot), it was very cakey, and there was no chocolate sauce or hot fudge. Not the worst meal i had, presented nicely, but all the food was bland.
