Had a great experience...food and service were excellent! Shoutout to Katy for making sure we all had a great dinner. We will definitely be back!
We are regulars, but this was our first dine-in
Had 5:30 reservations and when we arrived we requested one of the booths. She explained they could only seat in every other due to COVID and that the 2 available were reserved.
Then we were seated in a lower table. There weren’t any COVID restrictions apparently there, because every table was full. No distancing whatsoever.
We finished at 6:45 and one of the two booths was still empty.
Change in chicken type used. Not informed and not tasty. Disappointed. Was offered a free dessert next time. Not exactly that helpful for the current meal.
Got seated right away. Prompt service and was given a beautiful menu presentation. Poutine and Hot chicken pakoras were amazing.Ghost pepper sauce was worth the drive.Entrees were served at just the right time. Wife’s lamb was tender and my pork chop had the perfect amount of spice. Vindaloo curry was perfect. The cheesecake was the absolute best way to finish the meal. Five stars and it lived up to the hype. Can’t wait to go back.
3 ladies were there to celebrate a birthday. 2 had never been before. Our server was phenomenal, he brought out a couple of sauces to taste before they ordered. Drinks were of course amazing. We tried the poutine for an appetizer which hit the spot. Our server surprised the birthday girl with a dessert which was so fun. Thank you for an amazing night out, great food, great ambiance and the best service ever!
The food and service were awesome! Can't say enough good things about the meal we enjoyed with our friends. The only thing I wished were different was the noise level. It could have been the pent up energy from the recent snow/ice storm. Saturday was a sunny gorgeous day and it seemed like everyone was eager to get back out in the world. But it nearly made conversation impossible. However, it didn't dampen our wonderful experience.
A little on the expensive side but great food and beverages!
Omg visit chauhan ale and masala house today ! Best meal ever !! Kids loved the chicken pakoras ! And I’m still drooling over the Keema papri nachos - hubby devoured the lamb chops and I cannot get over the gulab jamun cake ! Driving back to madison and what a perfect stopover in Nashville ! Sis @sabahzee recommended ! You are gifted Maneet ! Yummmm
Poutine was a nice twist of meat, cheese, potatoes & sauce. Lamb Korma was yummy & my companion's chicken (choose your sauce) was a nice slow heat that was quite tasty.
Love this place & it was busy at the end of an ice & snow storm. Great atmosphere too.
Great food and overall dining experience! We will be returning soon.
Food was amazing, it always is. We were celebrating a birthday and it was confirmed on the reservation. We told the server, it was never acknowledged, we didn’t even get offered a dessert menu. We watched another girl blow out a birthday candle on a dessert and have been for a birthday before with that experience. Great food, atmosphere, etc, but for a birthday or special occasion no. The service was terrible.
Truly incredible experience the ambiance is always nice and service is top notch! Was our second time there and will be coming back!
This was one of the best meals I have eaten in my entire life. The environment was amazing and our server was very informative on recommendations for a lovely evening with my wife. Kudos to Chef Chauhan and her entire team. Oh and by the way my wife is probably your biggest fan. See you all again very soon!!!
We were given excellent recommendations by the waiter. He was also bartending but took amazing care of us! The food was sooooo good.
As a downtown Nashville resident this restaurant is one of my favorites. The combination of the food quality ambiance and service make it one of my top picks for Nashville dining. Try the Guppa shots with regular tequila they were amazing.
Our server Sujeet was very skilled, attentive and helpful. Our drinks were unusual but good! Upon Sujeet's recommendations, we ordered two appetizers and split and entree and left completely full. The high light was the naan bread app with cheese and a French onion dipping sauce. Simply amazing! Our second app was a flour ball filled with chickpeas and a cilantro mint water you pour in it before eating the entire thing. Our entree was the Tikki Marsala with chicken. This was delicious and had many wonderful spices to it but was not heat-hot. We will return to sample more of the menu. And while they do have valet parking, there are two parking lots within a few hundred feet. But as you may already know, parking on a weekend night will be not be cheap.
Dinner was spectacular. We love this restaurant and will be back
Food was par aside from a few unique dishes. Service is decent
Great, food, great service! However it’s a more eclectic type Indian, not traditional as one would think. A great spin on the food, but doesn’t justify the price! Great food, great service, waaaaay Overpriced!
Great food with interesting flavors. Short rib naan is ridiculous! It should be a controlled substance! I might be addicted!
Tandoori chicken poutine was awesome. 28-day ribeye was very good.
There two problems with my visit.
I read online that there was valet parking available. When I arrived at he restaurant, I called and asked about valet parking. I was told there was no valet parking available at this time and that I needed to find somewhere on the street to park or to park in the lot across the street. There was no street parking so I parked across the street. It was $22 to park for up to 4 hours.
When I walked into the restaurant, there were only two customers at one table in the entire restaurant. The hostess led me to a small table. I asked if I could be seated at one of the booths (there were about 12 booths and only one had the other two customers in it). The hostess said that the booths were for tables of 4 people or more.
The tables are lower than the booths and it feels like sitting at the kiddy table.
I asked for a manager and asked to sit in a booth. The manager was able to move me into a booth.
When a huge restaurant only has a total of 3 customers in it, the answer should be "yes" when a customer asked to sit in a booth despite not having the rule of "four people only".
Incredible! Thank you so much!
Great food and great service. Casual and approachable for Indian food novices.
There was nothing we ate that wasn’t truly delicious. Great atmosphere, beautiful dishes. Excellent drinks and service.
Wonderful server that had spot on recommendations for some rookies when it comes Indian food. Will definitely be back!
Jim was a fantastic server!! I had dinner with my daughter after touring Belmont and it was a fantastic experience overall.
One big problem is parking. There is no valet option, so the only choice was two pay parking lots nearby, with a minimum of 4 hours which was $20 (plus tax).
Son’s birthday dinner was fantastic, but very expensive. But then again, there were 6 of us and we kept getting additional foods and drinks. Would go again.
Favorite place, always delicious! Great for a date and friends get together.
Last day for co-worker going to another job.
This was our first experience at Chauhan Ale and Masala. The atmosphere in the restaurant is wonderful. The waiter Jim was knowledgable about the food. He assisted us in making our choices based on what he recommended as well as what we did or did not think we would enjoy. The food was wonderful. Our experience overall was outstanding.
Loved the simple menu and the food was amazing! Will definitely go back next time we are in town!
Chloe was a great server and extremely fast. My partner and I only ordered apps, but they came out quickly. I had the lobster add-on and the artichokes, and my partner had the naan and tikka masala fries. The portions were just enough and the flavors were amazing. This wasn’t our first time, but we’ll definitely be back again.
Chauhan Ale & Masala House never disappoints. Always wind up eating too much because the food is just so good.
We've been able to get out to eat AT a restaurant exactly 4 times since the start of the Covid pandemic, and 3 of those times, my wife has requested Chauhan Ale & Masala House. This is high praise from someone who claimed to not like Indian food prior to eating here.
The lamb korma and the broccolini are our go to items, but cannot forget the amazing Philly cheesesteak naan.
Highly recommend this gem.
Great food and service! Will definitely be back.
We had a wonderful meal with great service and excellent food! We will be back and always recommend!
The food was incredible and our server Jimmy was a different class. It makes such a difference having a server that knows everything on the menu and can recommend drinks too.
If you want a curry, there is no better place in Nashville.
It’s more the cheapest, but the quality is great.
Always a gorgeous meal! The coconut curry with shrimp is my new fav!
I’ve been wanting to try Chahaun for a while now and it exceeded expectations! The food was fabulous and our server was amazing! A must try in Nashville!!!
The first impression is the restaurant is beautiful. The people who work here remind me of a family restaurant. We were greated at the the entrance by a hostess who was genuinely hospitable. Our server was Chloe and she was amazing. We had great food to compliment everything. This is a forward thinking restaurant that we wished kept a few traditional vegetarian dishes. The service is impeccable from everyone which to us is almost more important. We'll be returning many times and are looking forward to trying new dishes. Thank you for everything tonight.
