We had a great experience. The food is phenomenal.
I've been to Chauhan many times and have had many great meals there. This time we decided to try brunch. We ordered the tacos and the chicken and waffle. Unfortunately, the tacos weren't anything special and were a bit on the greasy side. They were too heavy on the red onions for my taste. The waffle wasn't fresh. It tasted like a frozen waffle that had been in the freezer too long. The meal was a disappointment. We wanted to like brunch but it was mediocre.
Delicious food, drinks and great service.
We have been here in the past several times and thoroughly enjoyed it. This time it was completely different. Our food was extremely bland, the appetizer which should have been soft, was difficult to spread as if it had been left sitting out for a while. The naan bread was cold and stiff. The waiter was inattentive and acted very strangely. He dropped used utensils twice while clearing away our plates and then the table beside us, flinging food all over our legs, with no apologies. We were very disappointed and regretted suggesting going there with our friends.
Great experience. Great manager (Heather). Great staff.
Great! Delicious and quick before the preds game
We came in from Atlanta. A friend recommended Chauhan. And, boy we were glad. Best meal we had the entire time we were there. Several folks said it was the best Indian food they had ever had. I think, between 6 of us, we ordered 90% of the things on the menu. Go here. Don’t walk. Run.
Had a date w my mother after a great appointment at Vanderbilt. Wonderful way to celebrate her health! Thanks for making it special for us.
In-laws in town
Our server was amazing! She was helpful, honest and informative. The chairs are a little small and a bit uncomfortable, but the overall ambiance is very good. The Brussel Sprouts were cooked well, but way too salty! The rest of our food was amazing, and we loved the Guppa Shots appetizer.
Definitely Not as many vegan options as expected. Would like to see more salads and veggies. Server was helpful.
Amazing! Every bite was better than the next. Best meal I have had in a very long time. Highly recommend.
Great brunch, maybe a little pricey but the food was delicious!
The food was original and excellent. We had a great time and will be back!
This was probably our fourth or fifth time visiting Chauhan's and it was just as brilliant as the first visit. The food is stunning and overflowing with heart. The menu is innovative yet has enough classics to please both the adventurous foodie and your dear southern Nana who's never had Indian food before. The atmosphere is always very alive and energetic. The prices are incredibly reasonable for the quality of service and food. The cocktails have always been fantastic and different as well. We've tried many of the top restaurants in Nashville and can VERY comfortably say that Chauhan's leaves Husk, Adele's, Etch, and many others far in the dust behind it. Our favorite dishes have been the Flanksteak and Pork Chop, the Chicken Tikka Poutine and kebabs, the Desi options (especially the lunch chef's choice which is served in a huge and very impressive silver tray), the Naan French toast at brunch, and the Jackfruit Toffee Upside-down dessert. The only complaint I have is that one of desserts (a saffron rice pudding with pistachio ice pop and strawberries) was served in a mason jar and therefore really hard to eat and the ice cream tasted a bit like the popsicle stick. I can literally find no other fault with Chauhan's (even their restrooms are beautiful) and hope that we can come back soon before we move away this summer.
Simply the best
Waiter Peter was amazing!
I love the unique variation of food here but sadly this restaurant is WAY TOO LOUD... We had a hard time hearing our conversation and it frankly wore me out, I could't wait to leave.
Great Great place very good recipes! You need to go 5 times before saying what is best.
To be blunt “it’s the noisiest restaurant in Nashville that I go. But I return.
We sat at the bar and split nachos and poutine. Plenty of amazingly complex food. We loved it! Will definitely come back next time we are in town.
Best spot in town for date night.
This was our first time at Chauhan (we’re regulars at Tansuo around the corner). We LOVED it. Our server, Peter, was lovely- good suggestions and very welcoming. We’ll be back!
Ahhhhhmazing. The flavors and food were just DELICIOUS. Wish it wasn't so loud in there but it was super crowded so good for them. Can't wait to go back.
Awesome experience, again. We had decided to only appetizers/sides. Ordered the gol gappa, naanzenella salad, paneer poutine, and veg of the day. Every dish was delicious. Enough vegetarian options. Great service by Zach.
Excellent food, service and ambiance . Nice decor and creative fusion food.
We came to lunch, not knowing what to expect, and were delighted. I had the Desi bowl and my wife had the Indian nachos, vegetarian style. Both were outstanding; great flavors. Next time we’re in Nashville, we’ll go to dinner.
If you like Indian food you will love Chauhan. Delicious authentic menu that has something for just about everyone. Get there early and relax.
the coconut curry shrimp is amazinggggg
We had a lovely time dining at your beautiful restaurant. Unfortunately, the server we had was either having a bad night or needs to find another job. Being in the industry, I feel like there are no excuse for treating a table like “he couldn’t be bothered.” He was not very excited about any request we had. He said, when my friend asked for a side of chicken for her salad that “the kitchen was swamped” and he’d have to check. Our food took a normal time to be delivered to our table, so I thought he was just making excuses and being a bit lazy. Sales are how servers make money so, I thought that was a poor move for him. Also, I hear you guys have craft cocktails, but I had a glass of cava because nothing was suggested to the table.
On a positive note, the food was delicious and the rest of the staff was very friendly. We’re greeting with smiles and your hostess team was sweet and helpful. We were late and our friends had sat already and they went out of their way to take us right to the table. The atmosphere is wonderful and we will try again sometime soon.
I absolutely adore this restaurant. It's my go-to for any gathering, large or small. The food is outstanding and so is the service.
I have been to Chauhan a few times for various occasions and it is always outstanding! I’ll try to go every time I’m in Nashville!
Chauhan is normally one of my favorite restaurants with consistently delicious food and great service. Our last dinner, however, was not up to the usual standards. The service was extremely slow and the appetizer was barely warm. This will not dissuade us from returning as I'm sure it was just a fluke.
I eat out fairly often. The food at this restaurant is absolutely superb! Our server was knowledgeable of the wine list and the pairing with the entrees. The cost of the entrees is minimal compared to the exquisite taste of the food!! This was the second time I have eaten here and I will be sure to eat here again when I return to Nashville!
Awesome menu all around. Amanda waited on us and she was amazing. She explained all the ingredients and menu in detail. This was my first time trying Indian food and i fell in love. The favors were on point. The coconut curry chicken was AWESOME!
I love Chauhan! The atmosphere and the food were great as usual!
Fun, creative, delicious!
Amazing! Service and food was perfect! I’ve been many times and this by far is one of my favorites. Had the nachos last night for the first time as an appetizer and they were really good, a big portion so keep that in mind when ordering your entree. 5 Star for me!
We absolutely loved this place. The food was just divine. The spices were exotic but was very pleasing to the palate. We had the chicken pakora, the curry mussels and the pork belly. The chicken pakora was so tender so it may have been brined first and the sauce that decorated the bowl was a brain biter. Definitely had heat but it was delish. The curry sauce on the mussels was just sublime. The pork belly was melt-in-my-mouth goodness! What a great find!
New and traditional Indian fare. Gol Gappa app was great. Traditional eat and three was delicious and plenty of food, good value. Definitely looking forward to returning.
We had a great time here, go if you can!
