We had read about the view from dinning on the deck; however, it was a stormy and rainy Friday evening, so no deck experience. We dined regardless as it was our wedding anniversary, and we are pleased we did. Our dinning experience was wonderful in every perspective. We will go back this summer to dine on the deck!

The view was most wonderful and restaurant itself were very nice and clean. The food was good, however the dessert was a major disappointment. The chocolate cake was actually a dry, almost seemed as if it was frozen then thawed brownie. Service was good, wait staff friendly as well.

We shared a trout appetizer that was excellent. Service was excellent. Desserts were very good. The only down side was the Shrimp and Grits entrée...while it wasn't bad, the non-traditional marinara sauce overpowered the shrimp and mushrooms and cheese in the dish. I can do better at home...

We have been here 3 years in a row with another couple celebrating our anniversaries. We will not go back again. It was very hot inside. We happened to be seated at a table next to the thermostat. It said 80 degrees inside. We asked to speak to a manager and he barely gave us the time of day, just turned down the thermostat which was already set for 64! We complained again. He said he could move us to a table just a few steps away. Then we had a party of 20 sit beside us. Couldn't hear yourself think! Food was good. Only thing that kept us from walking out. Manager, Kevin, could care less about our experience! There was a wedding going on and VA tech graduation. We picked a BAD weekend but he should have been a little more concerned.

Noisy children running around our table without their parents supervising. This put a damper on the dining experience. Rib eye steak was good except it was one half fat. My wife's meal was good.

Lovely setting, very nice "light lunch" with wine, overlooking a beautiful landscape. One of my wife's favorite spots. Chef's cheese board was good..not great...but the outdoor setting for lunch and the rich full bodied red wine I ordered, made up for any shortcomings.

We had a very nice intimate business lunch here, on a rainy, less busy weekday. The service was friendly and solicitous. We enjoyed the food and the beverages - two of the wines and one of the delicious new ciders. The potato soup and pear cheesecake were particularly outstanding. All in all, it was the perfect location and meal.

As usual, another great meal at Chateau Morrisette! Lovely food, lovely view, good drinks! One of our favorite places to visit. Never a disappointment!
The plus this time was that there was a wine sale at the winery and it applied to the restaurant bottle prices (which was kindly pointed out by our server) !
If you haven't been, you need to go!

Overall excellent dining experience. The brussels sprouts appetizer was fantastic, as was the bone marrow. The shrimp and grits flavor was delicious; however, the grits were just a little more “soupy” than I prefer my grits to be having grown up in the south 😜. Excellent service and overall experience. Also note, the view is to die for on the patio that we enjoyed for a beverage before dinner and they were able to accommodate our request to sit near a window for dinner service. Thank you Château Morrissette !!!

Having two children, it’s difficult to find time for my husband and I to have some time just the two of us. When we finally do have the time, we make sure we do something very memorable and enjoyable. I’m so happy we chose Chateau Morrisette for our day date because it was so beautiful and fulfilled all of our expectations! Going during the wine sale was a bonus too! We will definitely be going back!

The food and service were wonderful! My husband and I were celebrating our 34th wedding anniversary, and it was worth the drive from Mount Airy. The wine was delicious as well! My only regret is that we both wanted t-shirts from the store but there was a very limited selection and none in our sizes!! There seemed to be a million light blue long sleeve tee, but absolutely none in a medium!! My husband was looking for a short sleeve in XL and none could be found! That was our only disappointment.

The wine is excellent and the food is well prepared and tasty. Be sure to get a table on the terrace if the weather is cooperating. If you still have room after dessert, try a wine tasting over in the winery before you leave. This is a consistently reliable place to stop for a good meal in a relaxed atmosphere.

There are two seating areas within the restaurant. From the entryway, the one to the right is a noisy auditorium, the one to the left has smaller nooks and a much nicer ambiance. The food was priced well, not cheap, but appropriately and they will allow the tasting of any wine desired before purchasing. The wait staff is excellent.

We went for Easter brunch and thoroughly enjoyed our experience.

We have been going to Chateau Morrisette for more than ten years & this visit for our anniversary had to be the worst. When making the reservation we listed anniversary as our special occasion but it was never acknowledged by the host or our waitress. Our whole experience seemed chaotic like there was no management present in the restaurant. The food was OK except for our dessert of dried chocolate cake which seemed like there was an poor attempt to correct it by topping it with a layer of marshmallow followed by ice cream. We felt like the whole experience was not up to their usual standards.

I have always loved Chateau Morrisette, and they continue to do a really lovely job. It is a destination drive, and the views from the restaurant and patio are spectacular. They also allow dogs on the patio and in the tasting room, so your four footed companion can join you.

They were having a sale on their wine, which just made it even more fun :-)

Beautiful drive on a gorgeous day! Royally greeted and taken to a quiet table by the fireplace that had a roaring fire. Jennifer told us about several different wines and we ordered. Shrimp with grits and steak frites were superb! Every bite was enjoyed by both of us. Cheesecake with fresh figs topped off a perfect birthday celebration! We can’t wait to return! Service A+ and food and wine out of this world!

We've loved coming here for years whenever we are in the area. The food was delicious as usual and the setting beautiful. I feel that they were a little understaffed as the waitress had a large number of tables. She did her best but there should have been another server.

We have been to Chateau Morrisette on numerous occasions, but it seems this last time, the food was not quite as good. The Brussel sprouts were outstanding. I ordered the puff pastry with spinach, but it was lacking in flavor. We shared a couple of deserts - one was the cheesecake which was below par and the other was chocolate cake which was dry. I would like to see more vegetarian options in the future.
