Chateau Morrisette Ratings and Reviews
My wife and I celebrated our 27th wedding anniversary and her birthday. I requested a private table for two and had flowers delivered that the staff had on the table when we arrived. The service was outstanding and the food was excellent. Our new favorite restaurant.
We have visited and dined here before. We brought our daughter here on her first day after arriving from California on vacation. She loved it and felt very special. The service by Autumn was excellent as always. She'd been our waitress in the past and it was a pleasure to have her again. She remembered us. How nice. She was simply awesome. She's got a great personality, knows her business and treats people like family. The buffet was exceptional and the atmosphere was pleasant.
This not the first time we have been to the restaurant, however it is the first time for their Sunday Brunch. The food was wonderful and the selection was great. Everytihng was fresh and they kept everything full. The dessert selections were absolutely out of this world. If you leave hungry, it would be your own fault!!!!
We live too far away to frequent CM as often as we'd like. The venue is wonderful, the view (if you go during daylight) is spectacular and the food is extraordinary. The brie crouete appetizer was fabulous and set the tone for our most enjoyable anniversary dinner. We can't wait to make the drive across the state to dine there again!
The staff was very accommodating and understanding regarding two of our party being 45 minutes late due to never having been to Chateau Morrisette. Since advertising is not allowed on the Blue Ridge Parkway, it is advisable to have good directions before starting out. There are no directional signs on the Parkway itself.
Good but a little over-priced. Salmon was over-cooked but still decent. Crab cakes were oddly spiced but I appreciated the quality if crab meat. Mixed salad and gespacho was quite good. Autumn, our server, was attentive. Room was a little loud with one lady on a cell phone and another who had too much wine.
We love Chateau Morrisette. It is a nice escape from the foothills. We love the mountains and the views. Our food was excellent, and our waitress was great. We did have a long wait between appetizer/soup and entrees....about 30 minutes. Not sure what the problem was. Won't stop us from returning or recommending to others.
My daughter and I treated ourselves for a first time to Chateau Morr. and it was a great treat. The prime rib was superb, service outstanding! we had plans to attend the Orlene Puckett play at 2:00 and last minute decision Saturday night..so glad i did..made the trip so enjoyable.
We had lunch there before the festival that was going on July 9th 2011. It's a very beautiful winery, friendly service, and awesome food. My husband had the wedge salad and I had the chateau salad with pomegranted vinegarette dressing. Both salads were fresh and very good on a hot summer day. We also both had the shrimp and grits 3 large tiger shrimp sat atop grits, andouille sausages, green onions with other seasonings I can't remember. It was the best I'd ever had. Our friends raved about the Mahi tuna atop fresh greens they had. I reccommend this resturant to everyone.
Although we've eaten dinner at Chateau Morrisette many times, this was our first brunch experience. The whole experience was wonderful. Our waitress was great, the food was wonderful; and the ambiance was excellent. We will definitely have Sunday brunch at the Chateau again!
The wine and patio was fantastic, but I was VERY disappointed with the food. The "crab fondue" was very poorly seasoned and I could get better at an Applebee's if truth be told. I ordered the chicken dish and it was unbelievably DRY. Everything was poorly seasoned. I sent my dish and it was taken off our bill-and the waitress was very nice & understanding. My husband got the pork chop. The cut of meat itself was somewhat of a disspaointment and it was also poorly seasoned. Please know, I NEVER complain at restaurants...and have only sent something back MAYBE twice in my entire adult life. However, when there is a disclaimer on the menu that "you can't rush great food," it was very disappointing. View was great.
