When you want that NYC style Italian restaurant with great food, friendly staff and just a wonderful overall dining experience, this is the place! My wife loves the Cosmo's here as well 🍸😊
Love this place! Very romantic and food is delicious! Good portions and the ambiance is great!
Love this place! Amazing food every time! From the food, to the service, to the lights decorating the inside. I had visitors in town and they loved it. I always order the lasagna or meatballs and they never disappoint! They even had vegan options and specials which was a relief for one of my guests.
Rosa is an amazing waitress that seems to do it all. She had amazing wine pairing recommendations as well. The food never disappoints and the chocolate cake they brought out for my brother’s birthday was exceptional.
Wonderful lighting perfect for romantic birthday dinner. Cozy and food will make you fall in love.
They made us wait 10 minutes before seating us and there were many empty tables. Once seated it took another 20 minutes to get a server. The server had an attitude and appeared to be disinterested. Our food was Delivered about 9:00 pm and was terrible. Fettuccini was very over cooked and sopping in oil. Caesar salad was tasteless and chicken on top was dried out.
We have eaten at this restaurant for many years but it is now on our NEVER AGAIN list.
Best cioppino south of San Francisco . Great staff and made my wife’s champagne cocktail perfect
Service was slow and impersonal...maybe because they were busy.
We have never been disappointed at Chase but we made the reservation because we got an email about their new vegan meals. Unfortunately, they ran out of vegan Alfredo sometime before our Friday evening 6:30pm reservation. Very disappointing. We will wait a couple months to try the new items, but will call first.
I would have liked less of a draft. When I suggested this to the hostess, she closed the door, but it was a bit too cool where we sat. Other than that, the experience was very pleasant and the food delicious!
This restaurant has long served traditional Italian food, heavy on the cheese and sauce and not innovative. I stopped going years ago. But since they were offering some vegan options I thought I would give them a try. The vegan lasagna was simply terrible. The meat substitute was heavy and greasy, as was the entire dish. And the salad that came with was boring and ordinary.
We had a marvelous time and Chase. Our server was Edgar and he was wonderful. We stayed a long time and did not feel rushed at all. The food and drinks were fabulous and we would definitely go back.
I have mix feelings about this restaurant. The ambience was good, the menu was good and price looked great.
My wife and I had a big lunch and we were not hungry, we decided we wanted to eat light and so we thought we shared a plate. We are from Canada and things are different back home. We order an appetizer and one entre to share. We got a funny look as we were not ordering separate dishes, we just don’t like to waist food. We went a head and order calamari and the penne carbonera, which by the way was great at $23.00 USD a plate. We mentioned that we will share the dishes, the waiter said we can split in the kitchen. I looked at my wife and we said perfect. We enjoyed the food and we were really happy. I asked for the bill and we noticed the dish now was $30USD. We asked the waiter if there was a discrepancy and he said that was the cost to split the dish. Some how I wish this was mentioned when he offered to split the meal.
This was very unfortunate to be honest and felt ripped off. They mentioned the extras when we order a meal, like adding chicken or anything else. This just caught us of guard and will make it hard to come back.
The Chase is out family favorite. We love their Cesar salad, chicken piccata and fettuccine Alfredo.
Great experience. Chicken Piccata was awesome!
The food was delicious, with efficient and friendly service. The music was too loud to hear the other person at my table.
It was almost comically bad. I don't think I've ever had pasta that I couldn't eat.
This place was great!
A great surprise! Lovely space and very friendly service. The food was delicious! We were there when it was nice and quiet, but since the tables were pretty close to each other, I don't know what the noise level would be like when it's full. But we loved our lunch.
Great place to have lunch. Excellent location, food, ambiance and service!
Great food, lovely ambiance and always an enjoyable experience. Great for date nights or simply a delicious, mellow Italian meal. Their menu offers many options!
This one of my favorite restaurants in Santa Barbara. The food is delicious and the staff is friendly. The ambulance is old Europe, red leather, dark walls, and a fireplace that creates a warm cozy feeling. The bar is a lively spot to hang out with friends or meet new people. The chicken piccata linguini is the best I’ve ever tasted, it’s to die for!
An incredibly cosy American-Italian restaurant with a consistent style to it. The staff were very attentive and the service ran on time all evening. And you seriously can't beat those huge cushy booths!
I read the Open Table reviews and selected this spot. Bad choice. Should have known it was going to be a bad night when we got there and the restaurant was only half full and our table wasn't ready. Looked like they may have had only one waitress working. Service was slow. She brought my daughter the wrong appetizer and brought me the wrong entree. My entree came after everyone's plates were cleared. We weren't charge for my meal but it was too late to save the night.
We reserved a table, but after we were seated, we were asked to move to a different table.
The food was excellent, the service very good, but I did not like sitting in such close proximity of another couple. Next time I could perhaps reserve a booth.
Outstanding! First time dining at Chase and if we lived in SB or near we would definitely be regulars. The food was excellent and we couldn't ask for better service. It was a wonderfully delicious evening.
It would have been better not being seated at the front door with the cold air blowing on us
A bit louder in ambiance than expected from seeing the photos online and seating was a bit awkward in the corner of the both for two people but the low lighting is nice. More lively than expected so if you're looking for intimate/romantic you may want to look elsewhere but it does have a few subtle touches of romance.
We went on a week night off season so it wasn't packed. Service was great - place is charming. Food was delicious but we only ordered entrees.
Great location food and service
We had a great girlfriends get together at Chase. Beautiful ambience, good food, good service and an all around good evening.
Always a good meal. Lots of locals meaning it has to be good.
We had a delicious lunch. Our waitress was very helpful and friendly.
On a short getaway for daughters broken leg and found this accommodating boutique and unique restaurant with exceptional service...food was tantalizing and extraordinarily good! Good choice!
We are locals and this place is our "go to" for comfort food. We love and split the chicken picatta, so yummy, easy split, plenty of good.
We went there on our anniversary. It isn't the most romantic place in town, but it you like Italian food, this place has the goods. The portions are huge so be prepared to take some home (hopefully you have a fridge in your hotel room). Service was great even though they were crazy busy. The cool thing is that they really decked the halls with holiday cheer (big tree at entrance, lights...) so it was very festive.
Great Greek salad and veal parmigiana
Always great meal. Super service. Fettuccine alfredo is the best ever.
This classic downtown restaurant never fails to be an elegant but unpretentious setting for special occasions or dinners out. The salmon is beautifully prepared, as are the pasta dishes. The decor is beautiful and best of all, the cozy design makes quiet conversation possible, so unlike some of the more edgy, starkly furnished newer restaurants in town.
The Chase is ALWAYS fantastic. The way they decorated for the holidays made it even more magical just being there. The chicken dishes are phenomenal (I had the parmagiano) and the alfredo is delicious. My father in law has been going there once a week for lunch for 35 years! That right there attests to the quality of the food here. Don't miss this place if you're in Santa Barbara. It's so good. We'll definitely be back!
