Occasion of celebrating the school year end. Party of 6. Restaurant was fairly empty at 8:00 on Saturday. On arrival we were told a short wait for our 8:00 res. time. Went to bar and it took about 15 minutes for 4 drinks and 2 sodas? Then presented wrong check at bar, bartender essentially said I looked at the wrong one. It was directly in front of me! Service was pretty good once seated. Last night for restaurant( Closing) and kitchen was out of at least 2 items we would have ordered. Entrees pretty good but shrimp in Shrimp/scallop dish were ridiculously small, probably 31/35's. (approx. a $30-35 entrée)
Overall an ok experience although pretty high prices even for a fine dining venue. I an not a foodie but do eat out frequently and know that this was not a very good value. For example Lava cake--$11.50 for a small cupcake with Hershey's sauce, no flare no "flowing lava"
Always enjoy CH in Sarasota,( Longboat Key) but this was just OK.
This location is closing at the end of the month so that they can build condos on the site. This Mother's Day meal reflected that fact. Food quality was fair at best. For 41 dollars a plate (buffet) they could have done much better. Wait two weeks and this review won't matter.
Food selection was very limited, Taste was not memorable, Desert station was absolutely not lavish as they claimed, Nothing upscale about this restaurant except the price and the view. They should send the manager to Oystercatchers to learn how to put up a great brunch. Last time We had Halloween three course special, We were very disappointed too, The lettuce in the salad already had black lines and were very small portions, Again the manager should check out Fleming's and Roy's three course meals.
First started going to the Chart House in Tampa when my son started school at University of Tampa..Ended his 4 years and graduation with dinner there as well. Was VERY sorry to hear that on future visits we will not be going there as the land was sold... Hope Ryan and the staff are able to relocate quickly as all were wonderful!
Very enjoyable luncheon celebrating our daughter's 42nd bday with a wonderful group of ladies. Cannot remember our waiter but he was very attentive and had good recommendations.
Food was good, we had to ask for another side of sweet potatoe fries because the A/C was blowing on top of the table and everything became cold quickly. They were very understanding and brought us a large side for all of us to share.
We have been here several times and it was a hands-down decision to return here for our mother's special birthday. The staff was wonderful in making sure that everything was perfect, and even prepared a special menu for the table. Beautiful view, excellent everything, Thank you Chart House!
First time to this particular Chart House and did not find it all that good. The restaurant was very warm inside, the decor is in some serious need of updating, the salad plate was nasty with greasy finger smudges, the lettuce welted from not being refrigerated. The cod was over cooked and the broccoli was a pile of mush and disgusting. The Parmesan crusted snapper dry and the crab on top not helpful.
The food and service were good, but the ambiance,(compared to 5 other Chart House restaurants I have eaten at) was lacking. It felt like I was eating in a large open banguet hall. No intimate/warm feeling whatsoever. More like a group dining experience.
Both of our fish dishes were perfectly cooked. We had the coconut shrimp as a starter. The shrimp were good, but the coconut dipping sauce was very sweet and cloying. The other 2 dipping sauces were fine.
This was our second visit to the Chart House and it was as good if not better than the first. Our server insisted that we sample the featured wine and we were sold from there. Our entrees and dessert were excellent and the view of the bay at sunset just added o the evening. Just another great evening.
Perfectly located by Tampa Bay, this restaurant offers a wide variety of foods for all tastes. Their wine list is is comprehensive and the overall environment makes for a delightful dinner.
Recommend this restaurant for special occasions as well as group get together. A+.
We decided on the Chart House due to it's proximity to our hotel and the water. The service was impeccable, really well trained staff. The only negative, they couldn't provide us with a full order of the King crab we ordered. So we ordered it anyway, and it was a very small portion, but then they brought more! Everything was delish, good for entertaining clients.
The food was magnificent and the ambience. It was my husband's 50th birthday. He loved his meal. There were not many people in the restaurant, but the service was VERY slow. The waitress was never around and our water glasses were constantly empty and had to ask everytime for more. Our dinner took 2 hours because of poor sevice.
I had checked the menu before going to dinner, but, since it was for our anniversary, we went ahead with it. We ended up spending $160, with my wife having one drink, and none for me. This is just too much to justify frequent dining there (I wish it were still Landry's. As I said, I know what I was getting into, but, it is doubtful I will be back anytime soon
We had a reservation at 4:30 on Easter and they were still serving breakfast and when we were done eating then they brought out dinner food which is what we had wanted to eat. We would of appreciated the server telling us that dinner was going to be coming out soon.
Not many better waterfront views than the Chart House. The food is five star, their signature drinks stellar, & ambience very romantic. The only drawback is the servers are a bit slow each time I have been there. Other than that, a fabulous dining experience.
We knew what the prices of the chart house were going to be before arriving - so it was no surprise that our bill for two people with only one glass of Wine was over $130 after tip. My Fiance ordered a steak cooked Medium - and it came out what you would call "Blue Rare" our server took one look at it and said oh that's not cooked enough for you is it? and we sent it back, it came back out several minutes later - after I had completely finished my meal - cooked Medium Rare at best. Still under cooked. My meal was good and had no complains on it - but had to eat alone while he waited for his steak. I realize that some chefs see a "Medium Steak" as undesirable but if you refuse to serve it that way don't put it on the menu as an option. We were paying with a gift card so I felt obligated to just deal with the food the way it was served. But still - we were given that gift card to have a night out to enjoy. We paid full price for our meal and left an appropriate tip based on the price - we did not ask for any type of discount for the steak but left unsatisfied and disappointed. Service was great and view was beautiful - but the food did not match the price tag for us.
Really enjoyed a first time visit recently. The varied seating options were nice to choose from. The wait staff was friendly, timely and delivered really good food. Outdoor dining offered nice views though not sunset views. I will definitely return next time I'm in Tampa.
