About
Charr'd really is a hidden gem. Any seasoned traveller knows most hotel eateries are overpriced and underperform when it comes to food and service. Not only is the hotel lovely and the bar area quite with lot's of comfortable seating and excellent drinks, the restaurant is cozy and the food is great and reasonably priced with a very creative menu. Service is always great. We eat there often both as a couple and with friends and always have an enjoyable time. I highly recommend Charr'd. Jim & Evelyn Brown
Charr'd, just maybe, the only "BOURBON BISTRO" of it's kind in Louisville. A (REAL) Bourbon Bistro.....Not to mention a super value for this type of restaurant that has such a huge bourbon list.
Only negatives is one burger was chared, my son never said anything until we got home, warn prople how salty the ky hot brown is, I have never eate it ablnd was surprised. Also I thought it had sliced turkey. It was more of a casserole than a smothered sandwich.
Excellent food, cocktails, and service. We'll be back!
Food was good but ribs were a bit dry. Also, there didn't seem to be a hostess on duty so it was slow getting seated despite the reservation. The atmosphere was nice and we would go back regardless.
The chicken and waffles are great! My son and I split them for an appetizer. We also had the BLT salads which were good. That could have been enough to call it dinner, but we also each had a burger (which we only ate half of).
We got there early for a Bourbon and sat at the well-stocked and good looking bar. Whitney was doing a great job holding down the fort and sharing her Bourbon knowledge. We enjoyed the conversation and recommendations so much that we opted to eat dinner at the bar. Will definitely head back on my next trip through the area.
I reserved a table for two on a Friday evening stating I was to celebrate a birthday and have a nice dinner. Our server was distracted by other servers who stood in their cubby and talked/laughed loudly. This restaurant is located between the lobby of the hotel and the bar area. It was noisy. The food was very good as was the gentleman busing tables and filling water glasses. The birthday was not mentioned. We were ready to leave when we were done eating.
Nice place for a hotel restaurant. Food priced well.
It was decent, but not worth the price. Many better options in the city.
This restaurant is always wonderful. The staff is always extremely helpful, courteous, and makes your dining fun.
Mufasa and SaraBeth are staples and are valued servers.
Mother's Day Lunch - restaurant was service brunch, had to ask for lunch menus. Very loud area. The servers were wonderful, doing the best they could. We were seated quickly, hostess did not notice missing silverware on the 5 place settings, but quickly rectified by server. Food was good, prices were good.
Had the bbq match is and they were pretty good. Not great but not bad. My wife got a burger and said it wss pretty good. I had the hot brown which was one of the best ever. Mornay sauce was super buttery and different making it very good.
Only negative is how the restaurant is arranged in the hotel as guest were walking straight through next to you while we were trying to eat. Rude of course but arrangement of how tables are situated it is to be expected.
Overall it was a good meal.
As always, this restaurant exceeds our expectations. What a great restaurant and a nice local area.
First timers for Derby dinner. Made reservations through Open Table. Was disappointed that select menu was not advertised for this night although most restaurants did the same but they advertised it. Charr'd did not mention it. I want to go back when I can order from entire menu.
My husband and I looked forward to having brunch after church....we went and stood at the host stand for over 10 mins and no one ever greeted us. We notified the front desk on our way out of the hotel.
Several people who were staying at the hotel were looking for servers and help as well as us. The ambiance and decor was lovely but The service was lacking....We never did see a menu and didn't see a buffet area or food at any of the tables so I can't speak about the food.
Food was good, but service was very slow!
Great food! Decent location and will definitely be going back!
Charr'd is a hidden gem. The food is outstanding and the service from our waitress, Sarabeth, was tremendous. Charr'd is one of my favorite restaurants in Louisville.
Food was great. Drinks made correctly we enjoyed it
Mediocre food quality, mediocre service. Would look elsewhere before I returned
Was given very poor seating although I went into restaurant earlier that day and other arrangements with the manager. This caused a very frustrating evening for my evening.
This is the second time we've been to Charr'd. We went a couple of months ago for our 1 year anniversary and then we just went for Valentine's Day. They have super friendly staff, and very attentive, they all do their jobs very well. The prices are not that bad when compared to some other local "fancy" eateries and yet the quality is fantastic. The filet is butter soft and so flavorful. Everything tastes amazing! They have a crazy extensive Bourbon list for those who enjoy the homeland spirits, and I think they probably have some form of bourbon in the majority of their dishes. It's right in the lobby of the Marriott East hotel and you would think that would get loud and obnoxious but you really don't even notice you're in a hotel. I definitely recommend if you're looking for quality food at a moderate price and a nice casual atmosphere.
Me, my husband and another couple went on date night. The service was exceptional. Lindsey provided us with great service! She knew the menu and helped with our decisions. She was on point all night. The food was delicious! All four of us were very pleased with our selected menu choices. The food prices were well worth the value. We have been to some very expensive resturants and have left unpleased. We have no negative comments to add about Charr'd Barrel. We will be returning!
Food was very good, but service was only okay. I enjoyed the Filet. The medium rare was closer to medium, although the cut had plenty of taste. My wife enjoyed the Hot Brown. She thoroughly enjoyed this selection. Her leftovers were even good the next day.
The service was okay, not out of this world and not really lacking. Just okay.
The restaurant is in the lobby of the Marriott Hotel (East End). Unfortunately for us, the sliding doors kept opening with guest arriving, which created many cool drafts. By the end of dinner my wife was wearing her winter coat.
No reservation needed but we love getting points through open table. Great service and food the bourbon butter with the biscuits was yummy delicious! Recommend the pork chop or salmon and the pulled pork nachos! Jolly rancher martini was spot on!!!!
As a bourbon fan, I really enjoyed all the bourbon, and bourbon inspired options.
Food was delicious, drinks were not all that.,..................................M......................
Food and drinks were amazing!!!
All of our food was fantastic. Fried chicken and the chicken wings were fantastic, as was the salmon and hot brown.
I took my fiance to dinner for our 1 year anniversary it was our first time and it was amazing. The filet was so good. Good price when compared to other more expensive fine dining establishments and conveniently close to my side of town. Great service, and super friendly staff. We'll definitely be back soon.
A Groupon is what brought me there, and what a find! The Eggs N Hell app was so good! Brandy our waitress was friendly and gave good advice on the pork chop - best ever! My date got the filet that was huge and cooked to perfection. Also - the Blackberry Manhattan was SO GOOD I had two!!! Definitely will be back!
We love this place for consistently great food and how easy it is to make a reservation. The kitchen was a bit slow on our last visit, however the food was just as good as ever. Highly recommend.
This was my first time at Charrd. Nice modern scenery. Sweet ambiance and great food... The pork chop was absolutely amazing... Will definitely go back!!!
Nice for a hotel lobby. Nothing note worthy. But reasonably priced, staff was very unattentive.
Nice ambiance for a business meal. Very good service. Food was fresh, good selections. Nice wine list.
Food was average, flavor of BBQ sauce no better than out of a kraft bottle.
Slow service, did not understand why waitress had tables in opponent sides of restaurant, she could not see us.
Poor inventory on wine list, two wines that we request were unavailable.
Very uncomfortable when they start pushing dessert as you are still chewing your main course.
The decor and comfort was very nice but unfortunately that's where the positive ends. We were seated promptly and was optimistic with the positive reviews. When I server came to the table she was pretty awkward and did not get the feeling that she had been waiting tables for long. We ordered a beer and a simple mixed cocktail she left the table.....20 minutes later we kept looking for her and our drinks. She finally appeared and we had to flag her down to come to our table. We inquired about our drinks and she shot a look at the bar and she said I'm "assuming" they are working on them. They werent...we could see the bar too. We promptly advised her to cancel our appetizer and drinks and we were leaving. Clearly as service problem as they had some sort of event that the guests were walking up to the bar for orders, the seated guests drink orders were clearly being put on the back burner and our server was clueless on how to address a patrons request for what was ordered. Maybe walking up to the bar and requesting the bar staff to make a customer's drink after 20 minutes should have been more appropriate. Also providing appropriate amount of bar staff when having an event might be a good idea too.
We are from Columbus Ohio and here on vacation. We saw the ad in a Louisville tour book and decided to try it out. Very happy to have done so. Great food, service was very good. Our server had a large table of men who were a bit loud and she had to keep stopping at their table. I think this distracted her from her other tables. The Bourbon flight I tried wasn't very good with the pours. Bourbon was good just not enough to get a good taste of the 3 pours.
Located inside the Marriott, the decor and ambiance were elegant, but laid back. It very near the front desk area and banquet/ballroom area, so it was a bit loud at times. Our server was so sweet and very attentive. I ordered the hot brown w/ the greens - good but salty. My husband had the chicken and waffles. He suspected the waffles were left over from breakfast because they were on the stale side. Bar area was crowded and looked like fun, we just weren't in the mood for cocktails. Bourbon selection was extensive and cocktail list looked very creative and interesting. When we are in Louisville again, we will definitely look in to staying at this hotel to eat at this restaurant again.
