Charlie Palmer Steak - Reno
In the kitchen, we continue the clubhouse feel with neo-traditional steakhouse fare such as Oregon Wagyu Beef Short Ribs with Garlicky Gremolata and classic tableside service of Steak Diane. The trademark eclectic wine list is strong in America bottlings focused on the Northwest and including rare single-vineyard bottles.

The service was terrible they never came after giving water and bread and taking our order then the foid arrives after quite a while and is wrong the stake was very undercooked not how we ordered it waiter forgot to ask what sides we wanted so my boyfriend got just a very sorry stake then the lamb was so over cooked and it tasted like it was a left over lamb shank that was sitting for 2 days and i got so sick to my stomack the worst was they were not even busy there were lots of empty tables so no reason for the bad experience again second time i try it lasts time was 3yrs ago and had a similar experience with my girlfriend want it to give them another chance and they failed miserably
I had heard how wonderful this restaurant is. But it was only average in my opinion. The service was tremendous but the food was just average which was disappointing to me. The thing that wasn't so special was the steak. It was kind of tough and I don't expect that from an upscale restaurant I guess.
This is the second time we have ate there and love it!!
I give ALL THE STARS on this review! This was an excellent dining experience. Ever since our favorite Reno steakhouse closed we have been looking to try another place in town. We had dinner with my fiance's friend who was visiting for the weekend, and we have no regrets. From the bread basket, the apps, the sides, and of course, the steaks...the food quality was excellent. My fiance and his friend each ordered the 20 oz ribeye and they were cooked to PERFECTION. I have never seen such looks of contentment from eating a steak before. I ordered the halibut entree and it was delicious as well, the fish tender and moist. The one item that really surprised us though were the french fries...in our opinion it's the best side dish they offer. Crispy, flavorful exterior and fluffy on the inside, it's totally worth the $8 and there's plenty for sharing. The service was great too -- from our lovely server to the sommelier who helped us pick out wine, and to the staff who offered fantastic table service. We had a dining credit from the hotel but we would have totally paid full price for this meal, it was absolutely wonderful. I hope we can come back again soon!
We have dined here many times and will continue to enjoy the wonderful food, craft beverages and desserts in the future. Great place for a special event or for a quality meal before a show. The homemade breads, house salad, house wines and fantastic desserts really stand out.
Great steaks, great service!
Excellent service from the hostess to our server Donovan! I loved that they recognized our anniversary. The food was phenomenal. The fillet mignon was very tender and flavorful on it's own but was made even better with the chimichurra sauce. The mac and cheese was delicious also. We could taste the creamy Gouda that was in it. Very good place to dine for a special occasion. Will definitely be back!
Everything was perfect during our meal at Charlie Palmer's. The staff were very attentive and helpful. Every dish was delicious. We had scallops and a wedge salad for starters. The salad was crisp and cold and the scallops were cooked just right and very flavorful. My friend had the pasta special and I had the filet mignon. Excellent main dishes! Charlie Palmer's is a wonderful place for a special occasion.
Arrived for dinner before a concert. High priced mediocre meal. The cocktails were yummy. The wine pour was not very generous for the price. The service was great. Then went to the show. Line snaked around for an hour. The show started b4 the line was seated and ended in 45 minutes. Last time I go to GSR. Applebee’s bourbon street Steak is better.
Service was a bit slow but the food taste amazing. Price, I think for a steakhouse is fair.
The server was abysmal. No greeting, delivered appetizers and main course and sides together. Did not ice wine as requested..twice! Did not bring plates from which to eat. Did not bring ordered wine for main course , had to remind and tell again what the order was. Food was terrific. However, we were celebrating a 50th wedding anniversary and wanted special evening and instead got worse service than Taco Bell. We spent $250.00 and did NOT leave any tip. The server ,Loren, is completely AWFUL. Comped the winE but who cares when he ruined a special celebration .
I had the crab leg special and hubby had the halibut. .Org were fabulous. The service was outstanding. This made for a awesome date.
We split the house salad, ribeye, au gratin potatoes and brussel sprouts all perfect. Sorbet trio and warm
Butter cake for dessert, wonderful. Service was spot on.
The food and service were great. We were there celebrating a birthday and the waiter made the birthday person feel special.
Excellent Service! The staff was top notch professional!! Erwin and Angelina were by far the best servers we have ever encountered. We have been to many steak houses all over the world and were extremely pleased with the "red carpet" service. The food and ambiance were superior. We will definitely be back.
Over priced entree in my opinion sides were ample but not outstanding. The service was very good , Brian was very personable and took good care of us but the food left me wondering if the price was worth it ,needless to say it didn't blow me away
Wonderful meal and great service! The steak melted in my mouth!
Cold steak. Slow service. Did not compare to the Charlie Palmers in Napa.
Food was very good but ridiculously expensive. “One pound” of crab legs turned out to be 1 crab leg - and it was $65.
Food was delicious and so was the service. Definitely recommend
Very nice meal except for the cigarette smoke. Excellent service. I had the fresh halibut special and my husband had the hanger steak. We were eating before a show/concert. The smoke from the surrounding areas was terrible.
the beet salad was obviously premade, and stored in the refrigerator. the beets were VERY cold and there was liquid on the bottom of the plate. the tuna poke was very fishy and bland. needed flavor and texture. the daily special halibut was the best dish we had and quite well cooked. but the bok choy underneath was bland and presented poorly. overall, we believe that the restaurant thought it was better than it actually was-
Pork chop very dry
The filet was one of the best I've ever had. I dont always pay $50 for 10oz of steak, but when I do, it better be that good (and it was).
A very small portion of cioppino. Watery sauce. I would recommend The Fish Market for a larger, more authentic cioppino.
I think it is the best steakhouse in Reno, but it's tough to justify going more than once a year because the prices are crazy high; but you do pay for quality. Service is phenomenal and food is too.
Dinner for 3, no appetizers, 1 glass wine, 1 shared dessert, $240 plus tip. Filet mignon's were excellent, perfectly cooked! Dessert was delicious! Service was excellent! Salads were crispy but dressing bitter. Side vegetables overcooked & overwhelmed wth shallots and garlic, couldn't taste the vegetable. An odd selction of and a small number of side dishes to choose from. Our first visit, expected more from this caliber restaurant and for the money spent, a lot to just enjoy the steak. hc
We love the Steakhouse, and on top of it we met our previous waiter, Brian. He is Great and seeing him again just made our day. He already knew our needs for the seafood! Very good wine selections, one can tell that you have put a lot of good effort into creating the wine lists. Overall, fantastic experience.
The service was Great the Server was awesome and the food was excellent
i believe the quality doesnt match the price. The service was excellent but there are better steak houses in Reno that are less expensive
was not our first time there the food was outstanding service was not so good if I wanted to know the price of items I can read don't need waiter telling about the food with prices at the end, how rude
The food was great but I felt like I was at a Chili's or another casino resturant...it was not very elegant and was very loud!
Dinner was amazing! Great food and Service. I do prefer the cookies at the end over the coffee cake but a very nice gesture to offer complimentary goodies to take home with you.
great food, great service We had a wonderful time. Noisy because of a birthday celebration, but nothing wrong with a happy celebration.
Not as advertised. Went there on St. Patrick's Day for the advertised Irish Stew. It was nothing like the picture. The picture was a thick stew with large chunks of meat, carrots and potatoes. I received a dark brown, soupy, small bowl with just small chunks of meat. No discernible carrots or potato. It also came with Soda Bread, which was supposed to be hard on the outside. But this was rock solid, my husband and I could not even crack this Soda Bread open. We even banged it on the table and it didn't crack. My husband's steak was very good. I guess since it's a steak house we both should have stuck to that, but the advertisement looked so good. We're going to stick with Peppermill.
The service was phenomenal, food was mediocre. I was very disappointed with the menu. Its just meh.
Excellent service. Great wine selection. Great seafood, chicken and steak
Our waiter was outstanding - service excellent and the time allowed for a leisurely dinner was fabulous!
Last time I ate at the steak house there it was Bally's Thank goodness the food, beverages, and atmosphere is as good or better.
