   We have eaten many times at Charlie Palmer's in The Grand Sierra Resort, Reno NV with mixed experiences. This time was an outstanding one. Not too noisy. Pleasant waiter. Excellent food.

   Decided hubby was going to take me for a nice dinner after a hard day. So glad I picked to come here. The food was excellent, the service was amazing Albert was so attentive and I loved his suggestions . A most wonderful evening when it was needed.

   Sierra was A M A Z I N G. She created an experience we won't forget. Her wine recommendations were spot on. The flavors were on fire! Ribeyes and Wagus were perfectly cooked with a perfect char. That lobster mac & cheese and brussel sprouts were melt-in-your-mouth good. Corkage fee was only $30. We'd recommend checking out Charlie Palmer's if you are at the Grand Sierra Resort in Sparks. Don't ask if you can be seated early and expect delays if the kitchen backs up because the chef only puts out perfectly cooked plates.

   For an expensive restaurant, we waited an hour and 15 minutes and only had a drink and an appetizer served. As we were going to a concert, we had two hours to be served and eat, and we did not make it. We canceled the food portion. Disgusting!

   Busy Saturday with many patrons headed to a show in the "Grand Theater" and it wasn't long before the kitchen got backed up. Wait staff was good at keeping us informed of when apps and entrees would be served. My advice: Allow at least 2 hours for dining from the time you want to be at the theater. As for the food, appetizers of Oysters on the 1/2 shell, foie gras, and crab cakes were excellent. Entrees of Rack of Lamb, Steak Diane, and Bone-in Rib Eye were also excellent, but make sure the waiter explains what the kitchen considers the different levels of doneness to be. Medium rare is more like rare; Medium is more like Medium rare. Our waiter did a great job of explaining. We didn't have time for dessert. Also, we didn't order any alcohol, but it seemed the bar kept up with the orders happening around us. The waiter said the menu was new as of April 1, 2025.

   We would give a “Zero Star” Review if we could. We were looking forward to a wonderful and relaxing dinner at the Charlie Palmer Steak house before our concert at the Grand Sierra Reno, The concert was scheduled to start at 8pm. We checked in for our 6pm reservation, were seated fairly promptly by a friendly hostess, and enjoyed the glasses of Rombauer Chardonnay we bought at the bar, Our waiter took our orders and our wedge salad, which was quite good and the lobster bisque which was average, arrived in timely manner. From there it went rapidly downhill, Our server, who seemed to resent his job and copped an attitude all evening, disappeared. We finally found him about 30 minutes later, mentioned that we were trying to get to our show on time, inquired about our meal, and ordered two more wines which took another twenty minutes to arrive. Finally, well over an hour after we ordered, our meal was delivered by a runner, not our waiter, and arrived lukewarm at best. Apparently, our steak dinners had sat under a heat lamp for nearly an hour. Not acceptable for a $300 meal! There was no time to send it back and no one bothered to ask us how our food was anyway. We barely made the show on time due to a careless waiter.

   We had reservations at 6 pm because we planned to attend a concert at the GSR such that we needed to be there by 7:30. Our meal arrived at 7:28 so we had waited a ridiculously long time. Totally unacceptable. We were ready to walk out at 7:30.

   Served by Blair (?) who was excellent for my birthday celebration dinner. Although we only had crab cakes, Caesar salad, dessert and cocktails, he was attentive as were the the other servers(, bread, water, coffee). Overall an enjoyable dinner before a concert.

    The sea bass is the best in Reno. The staff were friendly and efficient as always. Highly recommend this restaurant if you’re looking for a great meal in a quiet setting.
