Charlie Gitto's 'On the Hill' Ratings and Reviews
First booth was too small. Requested to change tables (early and uncrowded at the time). Relunctantly gave us another table. Maitre d made a point to tell us (loud enough for all to hear) that we were vacating the most reeuested seats in the house. Very cocky and arrogant. Next couple at that table also requested a change for the same reason. Food was good but no reason for us to return since they obviously don’t value their customers.
I cannot express how much my wife and I enjoyed our meal at Charlie Gitto's. The ambiance was classy and romantic. The service was like something from another era: attentive, friendly, professional. Every bite we took was delicious and rich. All around A+. It was our first time dinning with Charlie Gitto's, it will not be our last. Go!
Open table was the perfect tool to make a last minute reservation with. We arrived they sat us right away. The service was impeccable, the food was delicious, and the ambience was romantic yet inviting to family. The price of a meal was amical for a family restaurant.
This restaurant never fails to deliver a great experience. The manager Derrick made us feel like family. Our server Dennis was very attentive even though they were very busy. Dining out has become almost routine, but Charlie Gittos brings back elegant dining in a casual atmosphere. A St Louis classic on the Hill!
We celebrated our anniversary with a three-day getaway to St. Louis. Charlie Gitto's restaurant was the first one that I thought of during planning of the trip. It was fabulous! We chose to get the most traditional Italian dishes for our dinner. With Toasted ravioli for an appetizer, you can't go wrong, but this was the best I have had. My wife had spaghetti and meatballs which she is still talking about. I had mannocotti that was terrific. Our waiter was very attentive and professional. We enjoyed our dining experience at an iconic St. Louis restaurant on the Hill!
My papperdelle wasnt what i thought ... sauce very heavy menu said san marzano tomatoes it was not light it was in a heavy kinda of spicey sauce and most noodles stuck together ... husbands strip was perfect ... had shrimp app and while it was very good 3 shrimp for $20 very pricey ... luv the atmosphere
It’s been a few years since my wife and I went to Gitto’s on the Hill so this time we came w/ our 17 yr old daughter. Great reason to take a break from Thanksgiving turkey. The service, food, and ambience was excellent as always. We got a early reservation on Saturday after Thanksgiving and watched as the place filled up w/ other families wanting a great dining experience over the holidays. A true St Louis tradition to be enjoyed!
