Making the reservation was easy. We were sat on time. Suzanne was great. She helped us with our wine selection which was great. Food was excellent as usual. Best chicken spedini I ever had.

Grey hair matradee not wearing his mask. Most of the time pulled down on his chin walking through dining room. Rarely covering his nose. Lobster Bisque was sour and too creamy. Chicken and cream sauce entre was cold. Daniel was a very good server.

The service was outstanding and my dinner , scallops and mushroom risotto, was fantastic. Kudos to Tomas who was my waiter for picking it for me. From beginning to end everything was excellent. There are plenty of restaurants in St. Louis that could take lessons on the dining experience from the staff at Charlie Gitto's. I will be back.

We celebrated my wife’s birthday with friends.

This was our first visit. We will DEFINITELY be back! My husband lived in Italy for over 3 years while his father was in the military. He said this food was the most authentic Italian he’s had since being back in the states (he’s been back for over 15 years now) and he’s VERY particular when it comes to Italian food. Everything was delicious! Our waiter, Tomás, made us feel right at home and was extremely attentive without being intrusive. The other wait staff and kitchen staff all chipped in to serve! Every single person was so polite and seemed to really care about your experience!

If you’re COVID conscious, they did a great job of keeping people distanced where they could and had plexiglass partitions where the tables were connected in a booth style. We made a reservation and were seated immediately as we arrived. Our experience from the front desk, to the table, and out the door was all around amazing! The front desk manager even noticed we’d finished our plates so he came over to clear the table. He even came with a scraper to sweep away the crumbs! Visit this place for any occasion. You will not regret it!

Graduation

Charlie Gitto's seems to be the place to go for a special occasion. We went to celebrate our 20th anniversary. Many other couples and families were gathering at Gitto's for a birthday or anniversary from what we could see. The food is absolutely the best in the city. The service is something special. All the servers treat you like you are a delight to serve. We definitely plan to visit again.

I highly recommend Charlie Gitto's On the Hill. It was very nice to be able to relax and enjoy a good meal. They work hard to keep their customers safe during COVID which is greatly appreciated. Food was delicious, service impeccable.

Had the bone in Filet special. It was incredibly tender with great flavor but was a very expensive entrée ($65). My wife had the Lasagna. She said it was wonderful. We also had toasted ravioli for an appetizer and they were extremely good.

We truly enjoyed our meal, drinks, and servers! Our servers, Suzanne and Ernest, were helpful, friendly, there when you needed but not intrusive. The hospitality was warm and the food was fabulous, well presented and has us thinking about our next return! Definitely order the calamari appetizer because it’s the best you’ve ever eaten! The staff is extremely helpful and friendly! The food is always incredible. I would recommend this place every time. Also with the option for gluten free pasta this is very helpful for those with Celiac! Lastly if you have never had their gelato you've got to try it!

Our family likes to have a holiday dinner out at different restaurants each year, and this was one of the best dinners we’ve enjoyed in the ten or so years we’ve been doing this. It really was a great evening out and the dinners were delicious!

First time in St. Louis, so we had to go to Charlie Gitto’s - the best on The Hill. What’s the saying - “when in Rome”?
Old school in every way, from the suave and smooth maitre d’ to our waiter Anthony Sabatino, who treated us like royalty. At Anthony’s recommendation, we started with arancini - simply amazing. Then we had the Italian chopped salad which was even better. For the main course, we shared a monster sized off the menu serving of angel hair pasta with red sauce and chicken.

When back in STL we will always make this stop.

The food was nothing special. I don’t have an Italian bone in my body but make better pasta than what we had there. The server wasn’t very friendly either- kind of sarcastic. I wouldn’t go back. Guidos down the street is much better.
