Great meal and service.
One of my favorite places, food and service are always excellent!!
So I’ve now been to Charley’s over a dozen times, usually it’s good. I went a few weeks ago and had a bday dinner with my family, spoke to manager because our $70 filet was wasaaay too Smokey. He was very nice and gave us a gift card to come back. I went in Monday with my girlfriend, ordered chicken and seafood mix grill. Chicken was a regular old 8oz chicken breast that outback serves, seafood mix grill had zero seasoning, and honestly we were very disappointed. I love the tar tar and will probably only get that from now on, too bad cause they have given me a lot of great meals in the past. Something has been missing.....
We love Charley’s! One of our favorites. Rumor was they were closing or changing locations but we were told that night we were there, that they’re staying put. Very glad to hear that, we’ll be back!
Absolutely wonderful from the time we were seated. A little slow on getting everything, but I think they want you to appreciate and savor it all. Wonderful choices. Steak was definitely top 2 or 3 I have ever had. Dessert, drinks, appetizers SO good!!! Definitely understand why in the top 10 of steakhouses.
Richard was a very good server informed us very well on the cuts and quality of the steaks was very personable and friendly with a great attitude
Charley's is one of our favorite steakhouses. A group of us went there for dinner to celebrate a birthday. We all had different types of steaks but the best by far is the American Wagyu, the steak melts in your mouth. I recommend ordering the lobster mac and cheese to go with it. The serving size was good enough for 4-5 people. We ended up getting 6 sides for 6 of us and that was way too much. If you have enough room for dessert, you must try the peanut butter and chocolate cake! Our table wasn't in the ideal location, we were seated next to the bar where a lot of people were standing. Our server, Vinny, was very knowledgeable about everything on the menu.
excellent service, wine list, cocktails and salad, however my angus bone-in ribeye had grizzle (veins) throughout and I only ate about a third. My other guest had a Kansas city bone-in which also had grizzle (veins) but only around the edges so could be cut off. I had been to Charley's twice before and had a good steak those times so cannot explain why the steals this time, especially mine, was basically uneatable.
Charley's is absolutely my new favorite restaurant! Only for special
occasions though, as the menu, while worthy and exceptional, is a bit pricey.
Me and my wife have been going to Charley's for our anniversary for quite some time and I can't imagine us going anywhere else for this special day! We have been married now 28 years and I will continue to make the drive there. It's a little pricey but soooo good. Great service. Great atmosphere. And excellent food! Thank you!
Great bar and outstanding seafood and beef. The sides are awesome especially the lobster & mac
Every time I visit Tampa I always make sure to Visit this place, Lobster Mack and cheese is to die for and of course the filet was amazing.
Love the energy and the staff.
Will be keep going back!
Excellent service and the steak was amazing. Definitely going back.
We had a fantastic time. Food and atmosphere were over the top!
We have dined at Charlie's once a quarter for the past year. This was by far our worst experience ever. All 4 steak in our party were over cooked. Two, were extremely off course. The GM immediately came over an offered to recook those steaks. At that point the ball was dropped further. We never received our properly cooked steaks until the other two parties had finished their meal. Then when we received the bill. the had re rung the entrees which is common for tracking their food costs. However, they credited the bill for less then the additional meals rung in. Also, the GM had offered us desert for our trouble. Only to find they charged us for the deserts on the bill as well.
Best steak ever, most yummy and so well cooked, every part of the meat was well cooked.
Perfect service, perfect steak
The waitress was very knowledgeable but failed to mention pricing on wines that were “60% off”. With that being said, it was a great glass of wine but not worth $25.00/per glass. The other thing that was odd was the choice of water.. tap, spring or sparkling. I chose spring because that’s what I usually drink and it came out to be $5.50 per bottle, for WATER. The food was outstanding and came out quickly. I was surprised to find that the restaurant was very loud, I went for a special occasion and did not feel like we could have intimate conversation without yelling across the table.
Just to let you know what we think of Charlie's Restaurant. We made this a weekend trip. We live in Fort Lauderdale, drove and stayed the night at the Double Tree next door, and have the amazing dinner we normally have at Charlie's. Returned to Fort Lauderdale the next day. If that does not tell you how much we like the dinner here, then I do not know what will. Delicious!
Food was excellent, albeit it somewhat overpriced! The server pushed the highest price choices, featured wines over $25 dollars per glass, and was over the top describing the cuts of steaks. I also felt patronized at times. I didn’t need her to explain where the appetizers were on a two page menu.
The rest of the staff was wonderful and timely.
This was our first time at Charley’s. Went for birthday celebration. My husband ordered the bison ribeye. It was an excellent steak. Great flavor and tender. I had the filet. I thought the bison was tastier. I’d order that next time. Service was friendly and professional. Great place to dine
A great place for a great meal!
It's wonderful for special occasions!
Phenomenal steak and side one of my favorite restaurants...
Was a first time visit for our friends and they loved Charlie's! They loved the food, the friendly staff, and atmosphere. We had a wonderful time on our double date.
Great steak house with excellent food
Fantastic food and great service. Wonderful experience overall. Never disappoints. Great time!
We had booked a table for a party of four on Wednesday 11 April. The table was ready when we arrived. Food was as always exellent, but service was a bit slow. It was very busy, so my guess is that the waiters (and the kitchen) had a bit too much to do this evening.
- When starters were served, we had to ask for knives because there were none on the table
- One of the main courses was served several minutes after the first three
- When the main courses were served, we had to ask for knives once again. The waiter returned with three knives and one fork, so we had to ask for the fourth knife once more!
- The waiter was not very attentive when it came to refilling our wine glasses.
- The waiter never showed up to ask if we wanted any dessert/coffee/drinks after the meal, so we had to ask him over.
Maybe minor issues, but the service was much better the last time we visited this restaurant.
We have eaten at Charley's many times and it has always been superb. The food is among the best in Tampa and the service is absolutely wonderful. We usually order steak, but have also had their fresh seafood...all of it great! We rarely have room for dessert, but when we do, it is to die for! Don't miss this gem when you are in Tampa.
I was very surprised... I had heard great reviews but had the worst steak of my life here...
We chose this restaurant for our 25th anniversary, so maybe our expectations were too high. We were seated at a tiny booth that was so low we felt like we were at the kids’ table. We were moved to a bigger booth, but it was low as well and they didn’t have a nice table for us. Steaks were tasty but a little over cooked. Sides were limited with regard to anything healthy. Lobster Mac and cheese-very dry. Manager took it off our bill, though. I would go to Capital Grille for the next celebration-much more modern and a better selection of sides.
Had dinner with a family member. Waited in the bar area for their arrival, ended up staying and having dinner at the high top tables in the bar instead of a standard table in the dining room. Carissa, my bar server, was very pleasant, attentive and a joy to have taking care of us, so I decided to stay and have my entire meal there as she made me feel special. The Bacon Wrapped Scallops are on point there, and the Bison steak is out of this world. Fantastic wine list as well, with many options to choose from. I really enjoyed the quaint character of the restaurant, and will definitely be back. Beau, a manager on duty, made sure if there was anything I needed, he was there for me. What a fantastic experience. Can't wait to return!
Always a great time, great food. They are the best.
Food was delicious
Patrice was wonderful and knowledgeable. Very efficient
Restaurant is need of renovations... bit outdated
Went for our first time and had the most fantastic dinner! I’ve been team Berns for quite a while and Charley’s definitely gives them a run for their money! The decoration is all fish and fishing themed which I am a sucker for. There is a pretty garden surrounding the glass windows which really sets the ambiance. Our service was top knotch! We had two waiters who were extremely attentive and the showcasing of the meats was definitely a nice touch and very informative.
Pretty extensive wine menu but the waiter steered us in the right direction. He suggested the en fuego since we like Malbec and it was perfect- taste and price.
We got the shrimp cocktail as an appetizer. There were 7 colossal shrimp on the plate and they were delicious. Then come the salads which were nice and light. We ordered the wagu which was good, however it was a bit fattier than we hoped it would be. The fast was delicious but after the fat was trimmed away, didn’t feel like we fully got $75 worth of meat. We both got baked potatoes which were the size of my head (legit huge!), and the garlic broccoli which was good but not amazing.
I actually ended up going back the following week with my girlfriends and ended up with the same waiter 🙈 haha he totally remembered me too! We split the fabulous filet which definitely lived up to its name! We also split the grilled cauliflower, which is a MUST, you literally get a whole head of cauliflower. The au gratin potato’s were awesome, as was the lobster Mac and cheese.
Almost forgot to mention, if you like dirty martinis... you MUST get one here. The menu states that over a million have been ordered. Once you try it, you’ll certainly know why!
Thank you so much Charley’s for superb service twice in one week! Can’t wait to go back!
I’ve eaten here several times in the past, excellent service and food, was here this past Sunday night, absolutely horrible service as well as cold food , very surprised for the cost of this restaurant , I will be taking my business elsewhere
Very disappointed, the salad was terrible, wet with no decernable dressing. Bread was soft and mushy. Steak was good, fish portion very small. Did not meet my expectations, as your prices are high. Not pleased.
The food is ok, my lobster tail was dead cold as if it was just sitting out. It is unfortunate how run down the place is. My chair was essentially a bunch of springs without cushion. There is also no sense of ocassion at this establishment, it seems as if they do not have a dress code. Patrons are allowed to come in flip flops, t shirts and shorts.
Everything was superb!
We had a great time. And my granddaughter was treated like a queen . It was her birthday dinner with her PaPa.
Went with 6 people and the food was outstanding and our wait staff was best ever.
Many commented it was best in a long time or ever.
One comment was tonight I felt like were dining not just eating at a nice restaurant
