Charleston's Restaurant - Carmel
It was noisier than we thought it would be. But the food and service were very good.
Very good as always. Never a bad experience.
Love the food and the atmosphere.
I love Charleston's, and recently went to celebrate a friends engagement. The food is phenomenal (I recommend the Baked Potato Soup or Bolgonase). The service at our table was outstanding, but unfortunately the service upon entering Charleston's was lacking. Specifically, I used Open Table to make a reservation. In the past they have not take reservations, but it has been a few years and it appeared they had made a change. I arrived a little early and overheard the hostess speaking with another customer who had used Open Table. The hostess was explaining that they only do "call aheads" and do not actually honor reservations. After the other customer ended their conversation I approached and asked about the reservations via Open Table. I was informed, that their location , though being listed on the Open Table site, did not do reservations. They still sat me and my party at the 7:15 time, but they had made it clear that we would have to wait regardless of our reservation confirmation if they could not get a table ready in time. Ultimately, the night went well and the rest of the service was great. My issue was the attitude that was expressed from the seating staff. At the end of the evening, I heard the manager of the restaurant speaking with the hostess and confirmed that they in fact do take reservations from Open Table. It may behoove the managerial staff to inform their hostesses of the changes.
We always enjoy a good meal at Charleston's. We celebrated my birthday and the food was great as always. We highly recommend the Carmel location.
Loved this restaurant! We wanted a place that served prime rib and also had items for a vegan guest. The pasta she had was outstanding, as was my prime rib. The dinner rolls were really delicious and the service top notch. I will be coming back to this restaurant whenever I visit the Indianapolis area.
Sat in the bar with great service and a good meal with friends
Dine here frequently and this experience was no different than usual - great food and good service at a reasonable price. My disappointment this time was the lack of acknowledgement of our anniversary since it was noted on our reservation. I was not expecting any freebies but a simple acknowledgment and a “Happy Anniversary “ would have changed the experience from a typical night out to a special occasion.
Good lunch time selections. Baked potato soup is still the best.
I like visiting Charleston's because of the atmosphere and food. There are several dishes on the menu that I always enjoy whenever I have ordered them. Friendly hosts greet you and the servers are usually on point.
absolutely, .....................................................................especially for the prime rib!
The food was good and we had an awesome server. We enjoy this restaurant.
Good food. Wide selection. Fair price.
Great music when I can hear it.
We love Charleston’s and are frequent diners; however tonight things were not the typical high level of service we’re accustomed to. Specifically it was not super busy but our service was very slow. Typically we’re in/out in close to an hour. Tonight it was close to 1 1/2 hrs. Plus they were out of the J. Lohr Cabernet and the tilapia entree. Again not typical for Charleston’s. We’ll dine there again soon and hope this is not the new norm!
Food was great as always my only Two complaints were the waitress never put our appetizer in and we were never offered desert my wife and I would have ordered the key lime pie which usually pretty good. So I guess you could say that the service was not great.
Waitress went missing. Steak was over cooked and had no flavor. Limited sides for your choice with dinner. Very disappointed.
Hostess was horrible- told her we had a 7:30 and, with no apology says, “it’ll be 15 minutes”. Get to our table, wait 8 minutes for anyone to take notice of us. Another server takes note and offers to take our drink order. I was a bit annoyed and when our waitress showed up and wanted to rush us through ordering, I made certain she understood we were still making our selections and to come back. From there, the service improved, but the damage was done. The food was not up to usual standards with the carrots in a watered down glaze and my salad with perhaps 2 tablespoons of dressing (a dinner salad)
I am disappointed with experience as a whole, as you might have picked up. We have gone to this place for years, but this experience really causes me to think of other options
Great atmosphere, great food & the service was the best!
Menu seems to have changed food wasn’t great like it used to be. Probably won’t return
Ordered Spinach dip and it was very salty. No interest in trying the food after appetizer. I recommend the restaurant on 82nd street.
Easy to make reservations online. No wait. Atmosphere was good. Not too noisy. Good drink. Helping size good. Prime rib was good, but not great. Server..Destiny ?? Was excellent. Salad good, but still no French salad dressing. Baked potato had plenty of butter..too much for me. My husband had catfish and fries and says it was good.
Always a good meal. Exceptional service from Christina!
Our server was great! He interacted well with us, caught an error with my meal before it came out and got it corrected.
Great customer service and the time you get the door to the Time you leave! Thanks
I usually get the pork chop dinner. Great in past 10+ times but this past Wednesday night
it was really dry & tuff. The carrots were not the same as before. Really had no flavor to them.
The dinner salads are very good and the service was excellent. What's up with the cooking line?
We chose your restaurant for our anniversary dinner because it is fairly quiet, its pretty, and it has great food. My husband loved his catfish! The service was fine, except for one important thing. I am gluten intolerant. I chose the champagne chicken salad from your GF menu, after telling our server I needed a GF menu. It arrived with a roll on the side, not GF, but that is not uncommon, so I gave it to my husband. As a started to eat the delicious salad, I tasted something crunchy. Not knowing what it was, I ate more salad. Then I realized that it was a crouton. Not GF. I then picked through the salad and found about a cupful of croutons! If this salad had been served to a celiac, one who has a true gluten allergy, that person would be very sick for four days, or even on the way to hospital after eating it. Please tell your servers and chefs that this is a very important point!
It is my favorite place to go for a good meal. I am never disappointed.
We like Charleston's and the fact that they take reservations. Food is good... always the same. It was noisy when we arrived ( 6:30 ) but quieted as people left. Our server was good, did not rush us...We will come back.
We had a very nice lunch. My only complaint was the service. Our drinks weren't refilled and we needed a soup spoon. I made several failed attempts to flag down our server or any server. It actually became quite comical.
One of my favorite restaurants in the area. Always quality dishes and friendly service. They made a rare mistake this time omitting an item from our order, but quickly fixed it and brought free dessert to make up for it, we chose the bread pudding which is served hot and is really creamy, more pudding like and less bready, really tasty and more than enough to share! I love that they use fresh squeezed juices for cocktails. Husband always gets chicken and ribs which are really good! Love the fresh salads and homemade dressings and the croissant!!! Yum! I had enchilada plate this visit - just ok, could use more filling and less tortilla, but taste is good. Will stick with other items in the future. Always love the filet medallions! I appreciate the team approach, as soon as your food is ready it arrives always nice and hot. Servers work well together!
Steak medallions are awesome! Veggies were fresh. House salad and croissant very tasty. Thanks for a great meal!
Good food, good service, good setting. Kinda loud. Can't hear the good music
We had a most enjoyable lunch at Charleston's. Our server, Collin, was most attentive and friendly. The food was very well prepared, beautifully served, and delicious. My husband liked his fish and chips and I very much recommend the Charleston chicken strawberry apple salad. Thanks for a lovely lunch!
The waiter spilled a partial drink on our table, and then handed the rest of it to the wrong person. I ordered the special, a rib-eye, which I'm certain was not a rib-eye. The manager insisted it was (what happened to the customer always being right?) and indicated he would discount it because I didn't like it. When the bill came it was not discounted, so I again asked the manager if he would still discount it. He did, but the overall experience was less than impressive. Which is too bad, I have been going to this Charleston's for several year, and have not had such poor service before.
The service was quick, food good & when we inquired about ingredients, we were given correct answers. Food always seems to be consistently high quality.
Amanda our server was just amazing. Super knoweldgeable and friendlly as all get out. She was super sweet and just awesome.
It's nice to walk up to the front door and have 2 of your employees open both doors and welcome us. Everyone treated us with respect, good service and the food for all of us was really good. Very pleased with everything.
Charleston's has always provided a menu with a wide choice of selections.
And then they top it off with consistent food preparation.
in a few words: it's great food, very nice surroundings, especially good music and very fine service.
Food is consistently great, and same goes for their service. Managers always walking the restaurant to check in on diners. Highly recommend!
