Cindy Wolf continues to impress us with her innovative, very seasonal, ever-changing menu. We have dined here for several years, during our annual trip to/from FL, and it is always delicious. The fact that the restaurant's wine list is available online from the web site helps us pre-select a few candidate wines to pair with the cuisine. (The list is very extensive, so dining might be delayed if one had to pursue the list w/o advance planning!) Service was very good and the (even more) open kitchen provides great views of the activity that yields such yummy dishes.

Hands down the best dining experience in my life. The service staff was attentive and exceptionally friendly. The atmosphere was relaxed yet sophisticated. Special highlight for the dish of scallops. The best one I ever eaten in the last 40 years.

We were celebrating our daughter's graduation and we were warmly greeted by the entire staff, including the chef who came to our table to make sure that everything was okay. The food was out of this world. The staff was fantastic. We would highly recommend this establishment.

This is an absolutely lovely place and the menu is amazing, ever changing, ambitious, interesting, and delicious. We were four for dinner and had a splendid time sharing and tasting each others choices. Raves were given by all present. Service was excellent.

Great experience with food and drinks. My friend loved it and so did I. Loved that Cindy let me try out that scrupulous scallop! I have to go back drinks sometime because they are really good with Gin drinks. I don't mind spending the money when you get an experience and not just a meal.

I have been to great restaurants around NY and DC as well as throughout France, including top-rated Michelin restaurants. This was my first meal at Charleston. I would rank this among the five best restaurants that I have been to ever. The cuisine was creative in its use of food combinations, texture and sauces. Everything was perfectly prepared and served. Patrick, who took care of us, was much more than a waiter. I don't know that I have met someone who knew as much, not only about the food we were being served, but about food and wine in general. He added to the experience.
This is not a place to go to if you want a quick dining experience. You go to enjoy and savor the food the same as if you were going to a gallery to appreciate a beautiful painting. The prix fixe menu by which you get to pick 3, 4 or 5 dishes out of a nice variety of dishes is a brilliant idea that more restaurants should try.
My wife and I are looking forward to our next visit.

Our experience was incredible. The service and food both far surpassed our expectations. We did the 6 course option and ordered cocktails and a bottle of champagne. While it was very expensive, it was absolutely worth the cost and we can’t wait to go back. Some standout dishes included the lentil soup, the beef tenderloin, and the lamb chop, but every option we tried was amazing. We loved having Lena as our sommelier, as she did a wonderful job explaining the process to us - we love wine and this was our first experience really getting to talk to a sommelier and not just a sales rep at a vineyard or tasting room. Danielle was our server, and she was wonderful, as was Sulma and everyone else who brought and explained our courses to us throughout the night.

My wife and I had a wonderful dinner at the Charleston in Baltimore. Fine dining at its best! Each course was well prepared and presented nicely. The serving staff explained each dish and the accompanying wine pairing. This was a once a year meal for us and we could not have found a better place for a special occasion.

Teriffic first experience dining at Charleston. From the moment we passed through the door until the time we left the service was always 5 stars from everyone we interacted with. The meal was delicious and you could easily make satisfying selections from 3 courses to the full 6. Portion sizes were bigger than some tasting menu style restaurants but not so large that you were stuffed prior to the conclusion of the meal. Sommelier assistance and wine selections were top notch. We would certainly recommend Charleston for special occasions and true fine dining.

Charleston may be one of the best restaurants in America. We drove 80 miles and stayed overnight just to eat here again. The first time seemed like we might have just been overwhelmed by the amazing service, the fusion of Southern and French cuisine, and an overwhelming wine list. We brought our son and his wife for another visit and the second time was more spectacular than the first. We started with truffle chips at the bar with a glass of Sparkling Rose then proceeded to eat and drink for four hours and four bottles of wine. Truly an experience!

Our experience at Charleston is always the best! My wife Chante’ really enjoyed her birthday. She was astonished over the detail and attention to her preferences. Our server Danielle was a delight. We loved her Brazilian accent. Her knowledge of the menu was a plus. She thoroughly explained our courses. We were pleased!

The staff seems 100% committed to ensuring each guest has a wonderful experience. We were offered chances to taste wine, great descriptions of the unique dishes, and our every need or desire was attended to. And each food dish was delightful. We come every year or two for a special occasion. It is expensive but worth it.

I treated my wife to a lovely dinner at the Charleston for the first time for her birthday this past weekend. We had an incredible dining experience. Everything was perfect from the moment we arrived. We literally had the Red Carpet service for our first ever visit. Our jackets were taken and stowed away during our evening meal, and then we were ushered to a quaint table set in a nice quiet area of the restaurant. The menu was explained in great detail and we ordered with no issues. The wine and beverage menu is hefty and not lacking in any areas. It truly was a night fit for royalty. The valet service was free of charge to patrons of the restaurant, however we tipped accordingly.

My wife and I are currently expecting, she is a very glowing 7 months pregnant. The servers were delighted to offer alcohol free beverages it was a "judgement free zone". After about 2 hours, as we were preparing to depart, I had the honor of actually meeting the World Renown Owner/Chef Cindy Wolf as we chatted very briefly about our dining experience, she then hustled back to the kitchen as it was a bustling Friday night.

I was utterly wowed by my four course dinner at Charleston. Yes, it's going to run over $100 per person for food and an alcoholic drink, but I've eaten at restaurants with elegant multi course options around the country and paid significantly more. I liked that the servings were not huge, so more food could be enjoyed, and that there were so many beautiful vegetables on the menu, as well as plentiful gourmet seafood and meat options. Baltimore has many excellent restaurants, but I am putting Charleston at the very top of my list for the sophistication and deliciousness of the dishes. I also appreciated having a woman server. Often in high end restaurants, such jobs go to men only. Diners might also appreciate that the restaurant's executive chef is a woman, the James Beard Award nominee Cindy Wolf. Hope she wins this year!

Arrived at 5:30. We were asked where we would like to sit. The waitress described a few of the specials and mentioned three items not found on the menu. The food was perfectly flavored. While the flavors were very rich, the tasting portions allowed us to enjoy the rich flavors without feeling bloated and heavy. The hors devours that were offered were selections highlighting fresh seasonal ingredients. The service was impeccable: friendly, courteous, helpful, but not intrusive. It was a fantastic meal and experience.

Charleston is a special dining experience which lived up to my expectations. I first found the restaurant on a list of top US restaurants, and made reservations when I next visited Baltimore. The menu is clever -- picking the number of courses for a fixed price. I would say don't miss the lobster bisque or the tenderloin..... both were favorites.

How nice to be seated in a dining room where you can easily hear the conversation at your table!

The curried lobster soup was phenomenal. The mushroom risotto was sumptuous. The steak tartare was well seasoned and the foie gras was perfect. The lamb chops melted in my mouth and our service was attentive and helpful with gorgous wine pairings.

Wonderful experience. Great food and service. Don't fool yourself; it's an expensive place. But you don't walk out of there feeling ripped off at all. It's just a special experience that most people can't afford to do except under pretty special circumstances.

The quality and service at Charleston is better than 99% of all restaurants. Everything was wonderful. We did four courses with wine. The first pour of wine was a little light for our needs. With a kindly ask to the staff the following ones were better. Best course was the foie gras #1. The smoked tomato made the dish. Had a glass of Armagnac as an aperitif. They rolled out a cart with several selections. Great place to celebrate a special occasion.

My wife and I went to Charleston for our 25th anniversary, from arrival to departure the service was impeccable, some of the best I have ever had. Even the owner/chef Cindy Wolfe made the rounds meeting and conversing with most patrons, classy move.
Food was some of the best we have had and the way you order by selecting the number of servings was quite pleasing. our waiter helped us with our pairings and did a phenomenal job he was spot on. while you may see that the menu is on the pricey side it is well worth the trip to this restaurant. you will not be disappointed.
so give it a try for that special occasion

This is some of the best food I have had in quite a long time. I hat to disappoint my wife.....From our waiter Jonathon to each course, everything was so delicious. I left the Charleston with a lighter wallet but it was well worth the drive from Fredericksburg, VA to experience chef Wolf's cuisine!
