Great service, first time here, did not know that food can taste that good.
This is some of the best food I have had in quite a long time. I hat to disappoint my wife.....From our waiter Jonathon to each course, everything was so delicious. I left the Charleston with a lighter wallet but it was well worth the drive from Fredericksburg, VA to experience chef Wolf's cuisine!
What a wonderful dining experience! Every bite was like a food explosion in my mouth! I really enjoyed the course options with the wine parring. Everything blended so well together! Service was exceptional, so I will definitely return to Charleston and recommend to friends & family!
Charleston was, hands down, the best meal we’ve ever had. From the complimentary truffle chips to begin, to the “Happy Anniversary” macaroons to end, our experience was extraordinary! The food was unreal and the wine pairings were like “what?!”, How do they do that?! It was exceptional from start to finish. Nothing negative to say. We’ve had some excellent meals from excellent chefs, but this was our favorite.
The best food I’ve had hands down. It was perfect for my wife’s Birthday celebration. We were pressed for time, but were enjoying ourselves so much, we passed on the theatre play and stayed here.
Don’t think about the bill, just enjoy the great food and fun time you have.
Charleston, Thanks for the great experience!
Once again Charleston provided my wife and me an exceptional dining experience. When I made our reservation, I requested that we be seated in a particular room which we had enjoyed several times before. It turned out that we were the only guests in that room on the night that we were there. It made us feel special that they were willing to let us have a private room all to ourselves.
As usual, the food and wine pairings were exquisite.
What a lovely, upscale dining experience. Wonderful food, great, unpretentious service. And best of all, quiet enough to have a conversation with your companions.
THE BEST RESTAURANT IS THE WASHINGTON DC - BALTIMORE MD AREA
Tony Forman and Cindy Wolf were both there and extremely nice. Our waiter was excellent and all of his recommendations were delicious. Very expensive but worth it, much more of a value for the experience you get than at most of the other options in the harbor east area. Overall one of my three favorite restaurants in Baltimore, will definitely be back
Charleston is the best high end restaurant in Baltimore.
Food was great. Decor was outdated. It was very quiet, but tables were spaced enough that you did not need to whisper. Wine selection was outstanding but prepare to pay for a large selection. The value was the bourbon, some high ends or hard to finds for a great price (BTAC $28 per glass). Food selection was plentiful with options of 3,4,5,6 courses (not including dessert). Would love to go back again soon.
The ultimate “must-eat” dining experience! Fabulous service from the entire staff! The tasting menu will delight everyone’s palate! Highly recommend!
Awesome experience great food even better service
This is the best restaurant in the Baltimore area, and I would say over any place in DC as well. From the moment you arrive Peter is there to greet you and make you feel like the red carpet has been rolled out just for you. Our first visit was top notch and this was even better which I didn't think was possible. The new additions to the menu are quite superb the branzino fillet was the best I've ever had which I didn't think was even possible here. Each course had beautiful presentation followed by exquisite flavor everything was balanced perfectly. Our waitress Jocelyn was amazing, full of enthusiasm, knowledge and passion which you don't find often. Amazing wine list great cocktails and prompt service from all staff. If you want a dinner where all the stops can be pulled out if that's what you want this is the number 1 best place to dine period. We can't wait for the next time to come back
We love it there, plan and save for it every couple yrs.
The food was unique and wonderful. The sweetbreads were the best preparation I have ever had. The Turbot was wonderful and the oysters were out of this world. The service was warm and professional. I would travel to Baltimore again to eat here.
Lamb dish and potato soup were both excellent The service was outstanding. Servers were attentive but not obtrusive. Superb wine selection. Suggest you view/select from menu & wine list prior to arrival if you're unaccustomed to fine wine dining.
Charleston is one of the best restaurants in the city. The food is creative and choices are varied. Diners pay a flat amount for 3,4 or 5 courses. Dessert is a given and does not count against the courses. My friends and I had the4-course choice. Our selections were all over the menu and there was not a loser in the bunch. The oysters on the half shell were fresh and flavorful. People loved the artichoke soup. The beef, lamb, elk and branzino were each delicious and prepared as requested. One of the wonderful things about Charleston is that the portions are reasonable so you can sample all over the menu and not feel wasteful. The service is impeccable. Whether you want to celebrate a special occasion or just treat yourself very well, Charleston is the choice in Baltimore
We had an excellent experience.
Service was perfect. Nice, not too nice. I had not been here in about 10 years. The restaurant looked great. We had a view of the harbor from our table. All the food was amazing. It was better than I remembered. From the amuse bouche to the fantastic deserts, it was a great. The lobster soup was memorable. It was a great meal.
Extraordinary dining experience!
Had dinner for special anniversary. Decor is elegant, plenty of soft surfaces to absorb ambient noise. Waitstaff was knowledgeable, attentive without being intrusive, and anticipated our every need. The wine I enjoy was not available by the glass but the wine steward made an exception for me and it was most appreciated. Each small plate was unique and prepared with care, each one delicious! The lobster soup is heavenly and the scallop dish excellent. My husband's elk was done perfectly. It is an expensive meal but an experience that, in our opinion, was worth it. We will return soon. Cindy Wolf knows how to please her diners!
Exceptional food and serene dining experience. As good as all the hype.
We have dined at Charleston's several times and never been disappointed. Tuesday night was not an exception. We were seated in the library which is a lovely location. The service was discrete but very attentive. We had the wine pairings which were lovely. My rockfish ceviche was divine as was my husband's shrimp and grits.
First time diner, and it was amazing! Food was on point! Staff was very attentive, especially Andrew--thanks, again! Only downside was the "ambiance." While the restaurant is very nice, it's a bit too stuffy, and could be trendier/more modern considering the area of the city that it's in.
Everything was wonderful
Charleston will now be my go to place for special occasions. The food was beautiful and delicious. The service impeccable. The atmosphere divine. My husband and I were having a much deserved date night and this was the perfect place. We were able to actually hear each other during dinner. I can’t rave about our experience enough. We did the wine pairing with dinner which did enhance the meal.
We had an 8:30 reservation. We didn’t sit until after 9:15 or order until after 9:30. At midnight still waiting for check. Food was good. Service and pacing was highly lacking especially at this price point.
Service was amazing, food was amazing, a perfect special occasion dining experience.
We have come for 3 years on my birthday. It is a long drive, but worth it. This restaurant is very special. We are greeted warmly and the staff are all the right-amount of friendly. Five plates each was a bit much; we had to take a pass on the beautiful cheese cart and could not finish dessert. Lessons for my next birthday!
The entire experience was outstanding. It started with Patrick the bartender walking us through drinks we would enjoy and making my wife her own concoction. We were escorted into the dining room where Andrew took over along with a team of others making sure that our every dining need was fulfilled. The food left us speechless at times and if the mushroom tart is available I promise it is life changing. We could not have asked for a better meal.
Charleston lived up to our expectations which were pretty high based on everything we’d heard or read before our dinner! We’ll definitely be back, thank you.
Amazing food and service
Exceptional Service, good food. We have dined here several times and the service is off the charts great. A very creative menu. The food is good, but not what it has been in the past. I would rate the food a 6, down from a 10 in the past. Hopefully it was just a small hiccup this time and next time will be better.
Fabulous evening! The food and service were excellent!
Our children gave us a gift card for our anniversary to the Charleston. It was a memorable anniversary dinner. The setting was lovely; the service was outstanding; the staff was extremely professional and courteous and were quick to wish us a happy anniversary. The daily menu is extensive and includes fabulous creations. We tried a variety and were pleased with each selection. We also met the chef, Ms. Wolf, and passed on our thanks to her. We were told that she always comes out to see whether customers are pleased, which we were.
Outstanding dishes were the duck, the oysters and the lobster bisque. Foie gras was disappointing, beet salad needed more flavor. Sea bass and rockfish ceviche earned a B+. Wine pairings were excellent and we appreciated that Chef Wolf came to our table, and we were accommodated in the library room. This was my first visit where every dish wasn’t an A+.
Best meal I have had in a long time, new food along with traditional food. Very friendly and competent staff. They know their wine and Bourbon.
