Live Jazz: Sunday - Thursday 7:00pm -11:00pm, Friday & Saturday 8:00pm - 12:00am
Elegant setting, impeccable service and excellent seasonal food. Indulged is with thoughtful extras for my birthday.
Truly fabulous dining experience.
Our servers, Andrew and James, were fantastic. They knew the menu backwards and forwards and were able to steer us to food we loved. The 4 piece band had the perfect volume—we could still hear our table mates and enjoy the music. The complementary valet parking iwas an unexpected treat—in a town know for parking ‘issues’.
Exceptional food with even better service. Everything done to perfection with a few surprises thrown in. Overall an outstanding experience.
Charleston Grill is wonderful. Everything about it is excellent. The setting, staff, food, wine. Nothing has been overlooked. Special touches added to the entire dining experience. Little lagnapes from the chef delightful. Highly recommend this place and can’t wait to go back.
Great service and atmosphere!!! Short but to the point menu. Enjoy!
We were recommended this restaurant by friends who live in Charleston saying it was the best dining experience they have ever had. After sitting down our server spilled water all over myself and our table. There was no change of tablecloth which left a dripping (and sopping) wet table and diner.
By the end of the meal I was so cold and never did a manager (the famed Mickey did not say hello) come by to check on us. He did check on every table around us but we were missed.
The food was great. We did the tasting menu and loved every bite. Service blah. I would go across the street to the Peninsula Grill for a better dining experience (and drier one).
Literally the best meal I have had in years! The ambiance and atmosphere was lovely. Andy and Nellie were our wait staff and they were FABULOUS! We went there to celebrate moving my daughter into CofC.
The steak was amazing - I had the Ribeye which was huge, but perfectly prepared. Also tried the Octopus and Crab Cake apps - also delish!
At the end of the meal we had the Creme Brûlée and Cappuccino. So good!
Since we were celebrating they also offered me a glass of Asti Moscato and my daughter a glass of N/A wine. Such a nice touch!
We went on a Saturday so we got the Morning Bread for Sunday breakfast :) I can’t wait to go back to visit my daughter in a month so we can go back for dinner! We will definitely be regulars when I am in town.
The great food is the reason to go. I had the best steak tenderloin I've had in years. The sea scallops were large and flavorful. The service was friendly but not overbearing. Our table was available on time and there was a pleasant jazz combo at 8 pm.
Wow what a dining experience. From the moment we walked in we were treated like royalty. Mickey the general manager and Rick the wine director took us on a Culinary/wine journey for the ages. The four of us had a tasting menu paired with Rick Rubles thoughtful and whimsical wine pairings. If you get a chance do not miss out on what they have to offer. We were presented with an Amuse of a pea puree with pomegranate seeds. A perfect way to start off the meal. The buttery pea puree and pairing it with a sparkling rose - wow what a match. The tomato tart with whipped mascarpone was divine. Charleston grills crab cake was spectacular. Perfect golden brown crust and soft crab filling. Yummmmm. The next course was some sautéed Foie Gras. The chefs touch of a bit of cinnamon with the compote was to die for. Something I never thought would have paired so well. Rick presented us with a delightful Ice wine and it was a perfect match. This keeps getting better and better. We all had the opportunity to pick entrees from the menu. We had the Lamb, 22 oz Rib Eye, Scallops and Lobster. All were decadently prepared with skill that matches up with some of the best culinary talent in Chicago, Philadelphia and New York. Not to be missed are the Butter beans from the side section of the menu. OMG I may travel back to Charleston in the very near future just for them.
We finished out the meal with a lovely Creme Brulee and Chocolate pudding cake. Both were expertly prepared. If you have the chance when in Charleston don't miss this gem of a restaurant. There are plenty of tourist traps in town that have received all sorts of accolades and just were not worth the hype however this was by far our best meal dining the four days we were in town. Rick and Mickey by far exceeded all expectations. The Charleston Grill is a restaurant not to be missed.
3rd time here and it was again outstanding! Would recommend this to anyone who appreciates a great dining experience!
We had a wonderful dinner at the Charleston Grill. The waiter had good recommendations, and the service was top notch. Definitely one of Charleston’s pricier options but for a special occasion you won’t be disappointed.
That had us at “Hello”. It was a perfect experience.
I feel like the food was overpriced, and you were paying more for the service and ambiance. The food was good, but nothing so spectacular that couldn’t be found at any other restaurant in town. The flourless cake was too sweet and very heavy, not a good choice. Creme brûlée was done right, but nothing special. Wine was ok. Nothing was bad, just not worth paying $$$
I have eaten at highly rated reataurants all over the world. I was in town and wanted to suprise someone for a special birthday dinner. Not only was the food outstanding (still leaving my mouth watering for more), but most importantly, the service was OUTSTANDING!! I have never seen such attention to detail!! I put that we were celebrating a birthday dinner. When we were seated, there was a Birthday card on the table and our waiter addressed the occasion. Plus, our waiter even brought over a dessert/birthday glass of wine to go with our desserts! The whole night was made special due to their attentiveness. As I write this, all I can say is WOW!
We celebrated our 50 wedding anniversary at the Charleston Grill, and we definitely chose the right restaurant for such a special occasion. The food was extraordinary, and the staff was cordial and attentive. I wish we lived in Charleston so that we could dine here more often.
Truly amazing service and food was outstanding!
Everything was absolutely wonderful! Bryan and his team make you feel so pampered & special! Truly fabulous!
Perfection! Every detail, every ingredient was perfect. It made our anniversary very special
This restaurant is pricey but well worth it. Exceeded my expectations. !!! Also, if you can request your server I would highly recommend Bryan for your waiter. Very experienced, seasoned waiter. Knows the food extremely well and provided valuable input on selections !!!!!
Charleston Grill was amazing! The staff catered to our every need. I was celebrating my birthday and they went above and beyond!
This place always delivers beyond expectations. From the moment you arrive until the check is signed, you feel like you're the only group in the restaurant. In a town full of amazing restaurants, no other establishment comes close to the perfect recipe of ambiance, service, and food.
Excellent place for a great meal. One of the best service experiences I've ever had.
Unique food options to go along with standard, upscale dining selections.
Extensive wine list and cocktails to satisfy anyone. Highly recommend.
We eat there every time we visit Charleston. Love it.
Fantastic service. The waiter was knowledgable attentive and funny. The food was not bad but the chef could cut down the butter in side dishes. It was iverpowering the dish. The octopus dish should be reinvented. The produce was good and fresh so why overcomplicating?
Wonderful! Food was absolutely delicious! Ambiance and service superb/ romantic
After being away from Charleston for the last 5 years, I wanted to bring my fiance to one of the most special places I remember from this incredible little city. We certainly weren't disappointed! Nika and Brooke were absolutely outstanding - hands down one of the best service experiences we've ever had anywhere in the world. We couldn't have imagined a better way to celebrate our engagement and my fiance's first time in Charleston than at Charleston Grill!
Rick Rubel was so welcoming as soon as we walked in the door and is extremely attentive and knowledgeable. Justin is an excellent bartender as well!
And as for the food! Get the tomato cobbler, it's unique and savory - very creative. The crab cakes are to die for and a must not miss. The hazelnut-crusted sturgeon and scallops are hands down the best you'll ever have! Save room for the flourless chocolate cake with espresso ice cream, you won't regret it!
Thank you all for a perfect, memorable night - we look forward to coming back!
Charleston grill has delicious inventive food. Brazilian jazz was terrific.
Everything was outstanding! Food was delicious and artfully presented. This restaurant is now on our list of one of the best restaurants we’ve eaten at!
My husband and I celebrated our 10 year a Anniversary, it was such an amazing experience!
We like all the different flavors so we shared. Started out with the Charleston Grill Crab Cake - wonderful. Next Roots salad. Sturgeon for entrees - melts in your mouth. Finished with Key Lime Pie. Excellent service. A Pleasure to dine here.
Curious about sturgeon. Pleasently surprised. As many times as I’ve been to Charleston, I was shocked that ‘this one’ was right under my nose and this was my first time dining there. Wait staff was friendly and generally efficient. We never had to ask for anything. A restrauteur’s nightmare: having a large table of unreasonably loud, boistrous guests who are running up a nice bill. What to do!? A table of 6 (3 couples) immediately next to us ‘rocked our world’ for most of the evening. Apparently they were very immpressed with each other’s humour. What else could explain the howls of laughter and cackling going on for most of the evening. Otherwise I suppose one should expect a fine dining experience but still with a casual, laid back vibe suitable for a resort hotel in the middle of town. My only other quibble was I wanted to experiment on the wine list with a smooth but full-bodied red wine. The wine list is comprehensive. I settled on a Merlot (‘screw’ Sideways for what they did to Merlot!) and I ordered a Napa Merlot from an estate I was unfamiliar with. I paid the price for my wish to try something new as I found the wine on first blush to be uncharacteristically tightly wound (for a Merlot. To the sommilier’s credit he decanted and aggravated the wine without my having to ask which helped open it up a bit.
Amazing food and superb service. Food cooked to perfection and service was well timed!
Food was amazing as always. Panzella Salad , Ahi Tune , Crab Cakes and Sturgeon was delightful and full of amazing flavors. Jazz band was great too. Highly recommend !
Service was impeccable and food was delicious. While I wouldn’t say this is a spot intended for children, the staff was more than accommodating to my eight year old daughter who absolutely loved the “fancy” dining experience!
Outstanding service !! Waiters very informative, attentive and never intrusive.
The ribeye was horrible with tough grizzle throughout. The waiter was rude when ordering and he wanted to rush us. I would not use energetic to describe the noise level. Instead I would say loud drunk business people (men and woman). I will never go back.
Excellent dinner. The four of us tried a variety of appetizers and entrees and all were delicious. Very prompt, friendly & professional service. Crab cake, scallops, and beef tenderloin were exceptional. A bit expensive, but fortunately this was a business dinner and well worth it.
Always an amazing experience at Charleston grill! Made my birthday extra special and the food is always phenomenal, we will always return!
Outstanding food, service and ambiance. It does not get any better than this.
