This was truly excellent. I had the scallops and my wife had the haddock. Both were perfectly cooked. I will say that the sauce on my scallops was slightly heavier than I excepted. Next time I might choose a Pinot Noir to go with them. There will be a next time
The service and food were top notch. It is pricey though.
Outstanding food and first class service. The crab cake was the best I’ve ever had. My main server, Adam, was so lovely and made me feel like a queen. I had the 6 course tasting menu with the mid-range wine pairing. All the pairings were absolutely amazing!! 6 courses was really 9 with the extra surprise treats they brought out (including a little dessert to take home). Do yourself a favor and make a reservation here. The experience was worth every penny
Amazing service and food, would definitely recommended to anyone looking for a great fine dining experience! Great wine list.
I enjoyed my dinner at Charleston Grill mostly because of the wonderful entrainment. The music was a piano, base, & drums, which only added to the dinning experience.
Outstanding. Everything about the evening was wonderful. The crab cakes, the fois gras, the halibut, the blue cheese course, the delightful gifts from the kitchen, a symphony of impeccable tastes backed by live music and orchestrated by attentive staff. We aren’t locals but we will definitely be back!
Charleston Grill was our best dining experience in Charleston which included several high end restaurants. The food was tremendous (rib-eye and beef tenderloin) and our server Bryan was attentive and explained every item.
Charleston Grill is now one of our all-time favorite restaurants! It has it all: lovely space, amazing cuisine, superlative staff. Our dining experience was seamless. My husband and I felt adventurous and ordered the chef's six-course tasting menu and were not disappointed. Additionally, Bryan, our waiter, and the kitchen staff made sure that my half of the meal met my gluten-free needs. This place is perfect.
Excellent as always.
Our first visit to Charlestown and with all of the hoopla about the local food and little time to enjoy it we decided for convenience to east in the hotel where were staying. Even as guests hard to get a reservation - good sign? - but we did and thoroughly enjoyed the experience starting with a well made martini through the entire meal. Well presented, tasty and not routine dishes make our day.
Wonderful - as always. Excellent cocktails, great wine list, a first-rate menu and knowledgeable / friendly staff.
Fabulous dinner, wine list and and atmosphere. We will definitely be back
The service was exceptional. Andrew and Jordan were wonderful. The food was incredible. This was the best way to celebrate our birthdays.
If I could caption this review, it would be "Southern Hospitality at its Finest". Very nice dining experience. The menu could be a little more extensive but I'd rather they do what they do well than do a lot and do nothing well. The service is top notch. The dining room attendants are professional yet warm and cordial. I've only tried the crab cake and butter beans but I don't need to try anything else. I will order the crab cake everytime. It is superb and I live in blue crab country so I know a thing or two about crabs. No filler just delicious, sweet crab meat gently shaped into a small but absolutely satisfying cake, grilled and paired with a few tiny, flavorful shrimp. However, it's topped with a slice of grapefruit which I didn't quite understand; I just pushed it aside. The butter beans are served with rice and reminded me of my own; tender and tasty. The live music is hit or miss. One night they had a quartet in the tiny space provided. I couldn't really appreciate it; two guitar players, a drummer and a mediocre piano player. The lead guitarist played Brazilian music and was mumbling something. Perhaps he was supposed to be singing. But the next night, they had a fabulous trio consisting of a guitarist, a drummer and an exceptionally talented piano player. I will definitely dine here again when visiting Charleston.
Our experience was amazing there was a live band playing the perfect dinner music and I would highly recommend a visit to anyone in the area.
Only restaurant where TWO servers greeted us by name! Service was amazing and the “pace” was just right. Food was creative and exceptional! Cappuccinos and desert brought back memories of Italy.
The food is excellent. There are several restaurants in the alley so it is very hip. Vibrant area. Seafood choices and drinks with outdoor covered seating. Great place.
We went and celebrated for a birthday. They do a great job making you feel celebrated 🥂
Wonderful dinner for our honeymoon. The service was top notch and the attention to detail was superb. The food was delicious and the portions were so big we had a hard time finishing them. Highly recommended for a special occasion!
We had a wonderful experience at this beautiful restaurant located at the Charleston Place Hotel! Our waiter Bryan was terrific as well as all the servers that waited on us and/or passed our table. So friendly and so efficient! Julie, one of the managers, was amazing! Food was delicious and loved the trio playing music in the background from another room! It is very difficult when you are traveling and have to make reservations at places you have never been to but Open Table makes it easy ! I read all the reviews and this restaurant did not disappoint. A little pricey but so worth it ..
Marvelous in every way! Celebrating our 40th Wedding Anniversary and the staff and food could not have been better. The Jazz trio: Drums, Bass and piano were spot on!!
Love this restaurant! Never disappoints with great food, service and ambience
Charleston Grill was our favorite restaurant. Great service and outstanding food.
Perfect ending to our Charleston vacation. One of the best meals we have had -- ever. The food was delicious, perfectly prepared, and the service was exceptional. There are very nice little extras that are provided that really make for a delightful evening.
Food was good....waitress disinterested and never checked on us ...waited 15 minutes after declining desert to get bill...when brought told her we were not guest at hotel and needed credit card slip...she never came back...another server I had to ask to get check after another 5 minutes of waiting.
Excellent as always. Nothing in Charleston compares to this gem.
Exceptional dining experience!!
You will not be disappointed! Jazz Trio set the mood for a perfect evening!!!
Good food. Small portions. High price. A little stuffy.
I have dined in excellent restaurants all over the world; Charleston Grill raises the bar for excellence! From the moment my husband and I walked into the restaurant, to the time we left, every need was met with expert efficiency: the food was superb, our waiter was knowledgeable and cared for our every need, good jazz band that didn’t intrude on conversation and a great ambience . I highly recommend this restaurant for ultimate dining.
I sent my mom and aunts to this restaurant for a pre-mother's day dinner. They absolutely loved this place from the music (Friday night) to the service and everything in between. They raved about the ambiance and really enjoyed the jazz quartet. They said the food, especially the fish, was some of the best they ever had. Thanks for making this a special night for my aunts!
One of the best restaurants that I have visited in my life.
Ben was our waiter along with helpers. Outstanding accommodating attentive would the best way to describe him. All wait staff were on top of their game.
We went to Grill 225 the next night and had a much better experience. Would not come back to Charleston Grill compared to competition in the area. Food was better and larger at 225 for a similar price point/experience. I do not work for grill 225 and have no vested interest in them.
The service was exceptional! Crab cake appetizer was very good. We had the halibut and the Indian fish. Both dishes were very bland and nothing special. Overall overpriced.
The Charleston Grill is one of our Charleston favorites and remains in our top category. The executive chef, Michelle, never fails to offer outstanding choices. We highly recommend the restaurant and will certainly return I’on the near future.
Our server Ben, made sure our dinning experience was fantastic!
This was the best dinner we have EVER had ANYWHERE. We ordered the chef's tasting dinner because we decided that we deserved it. Everything they served, unreal.
This is a wonderful restaurant. Food is outstanding and so is the service. In the evening we had the great pleasure of experiencing the fine music of a jazz trio. They were great as well, highl, highly recommend!
The best dinner experience we had in Charleston, which is saying a lot as we had a LOT of great dinners there. The food (& drinks) were excellent, but the service and the live light jazz music made the overall dining experience superb!
