Absolutely delicious! One of the best meals I’ve ever had. The jazz trio tonight was excellent. The staff was great. Very very happy with tonight
Wonderful ambience, service, and food! This is my second time eating here and it was amazing.
Great atmosphere, service and food offerings. Impressive (but pricy) wine list. Highly recommended!
Great spot for a special occasion. Entire staff was aware and commented with special recognition of our celebration.
Wonderful meal and outstanding service. It could not have been better. Best!
Food is what you expect at a restaurant of this price level and it is complimented by a great staff and service. Very nice wine list with a young lady somm who was very helpful. Highly recommend this sport for any occasion.
Charleston is such a beautiful city and our visit at Charleston Grill was no exception. Absolutely fabulous! Chef Michelle Weaver and staff were amazing hostesses and hosts. We will definitely recommend and look forward to dining with them again.

Outstanding service! Tasting menu was exceptional!
One of the best restaurants I have ever been to! Food was amazing but the service was even better!
It was fantastic, as always. We enjoyed celebrating our anniversary at Charleston Grill. Absolutely wonderful. Staff, especially Adam, was tremendous.
Best chef in Charleston
This restaurant has a luxurious ambience. A live jazz trio, a beautiful interior. Teams of wait staff perform impeccable service. They have a nice wine list with a helpful sommelier who isn't just out to sell the most expensive wines. My husband and I chose to share 4 courses. We had two appetizers. First we tried the charred octopus. While we love octopus, this was a disappointing dish for us... it was just ok. Next we tried the terrine of fois gras, which was an appetizer special. This was melt- in- your- mouth silky bites of deliciousness . Next we had the branzino (fish), which was cooked expertly - seared on the outside and tender on the inside, seasoned perfectly. We closed with a lovely creme brulee. We definitely recommend this experience. A few helpful hints: our uber driver dropped us at the correct address, but we couldn't find the restaurant! It's in a little "mall" - just go through the double doors and Charleston Grill is just inside on the left. If the weather is nice, there's a really pretty outside seating area in a courtyard.
Unfortunately we had a very disappointing experience. Had a 7:15 reservation and arrived 45 minutes early and asked to be seated. The concierge advised that table was not ready , there were numerous other reservations to be seated and we needed to wait or go to bar. Would have been fine except the restaurant was only 25% occupied and there appeared to be plenty of staff to serve. Went to the bar and had oysters and cheese selection (food quality good) but it was not enjoyable as we found the bartendress a bit arrogant in her demeanor. We finished appetizers and asked again at 7:00 if the table was ready and was told another 10 minutes.... having sat at the bar and watched the empty tables only made the experience more frustrating.
The dining experience goes well beyond the actual food in a restaurant of this caliber and unfortunately the Charleston Grill did not deliver. We will not go back and are disappointed that it was not a good experience.
This was our 2nd time dining at the Charleston Grill and it was even better than the first. The food is an artwork and everything was outstanding from start to finish. We would highly recommend dining at the Charleston Grill on your next trip to Charleston. You won't be disappointed
Our meal at Charleston Grill was fantastic. Each course was sublime. Linguine with crab was wonderful. Very refined service and atmosphere but friendly and not stuffy. Great live music. It was a wonderful experience.
Highly recommend. The service was superb and the food was delicious.
We did the 8-course tasting menu with wine pairings, and it was excellent! We didn’t have to think about what we wanted to order...the delicious dishes kept coming, and the wine was flowing all night!
If you are willing to spend some money and want to try a little bit of everything, I highly recommend doing one of their tasting menus. The service was wonderful, and we thoroughly enjoyed our date night!
Isn’t it great when everything is done perfectly? That summarizes our anniversary dinner at Charleston Grill. Foie Gras appetizer and Maine Oysters—perfect. St. Estephe wine—perfect. My wife’s filet mignon—perfect. My lamb chops—perfect (rare-medium to rare just as I requested). Dessert—a chocolate pudding cake—perfect. The service provided Trevor and Barbie—perfect.
If you are planning a special occasion or a date night we can highly recommend the Charleston Grill.
Nothing but amazing things to say about the food and the service. The live music is also a wonderful added feature. Went here for our anniversary and would absolutely recommend and would go back in a heart beat.
The crab and linguine had two bites of crab in it and was overpriced. The ribeye was very fatty. The bread, salad, and crabcake were superb.
Fantastic service and cuisine from start to finish.
Trevor was our server and he was attentive, informed, timely and easy going. We always expect and receive great service at The Charleston Grill. Food speaks for itself, we had a great table too! Many reasons why its one of, if not, the best restaurant in the city.
Our server was Adam and he was so kind and very attentive. The food was quick and the band was playing. Overall had a great time and highly recommend him as a server.
Impeccable service, outstanding quality of food. By far the best dinner we had during 3 nights of our stay in Charleston.
Charleston Grill is fabulous!! It is truly fine dining at its best!! I would recommend it to anyone wanting a fabulous meal and service!
Amazing anniversary dinner. They treated us wonderfully and the food was outstanding.
Our waiter was cordial and polite but we noticed how friendly he was to other people around us. He engaged with the folks at the other tables and made small talk. I love small talk so this really stood out to me. It’s hard not to feel that the reason was because we were the only couple of color there. Food was great but I don’t think we will be back.... again the folks were very polite...
I’ve lived in Charleston for 16 years, this is hands down my favorite restaurant. It is so romantic, the food is outstanding...incomparable!! The staff are amazing and Mickey is the nicest, most knowledgeable GM! He always has suggestions, none of which disappoint. LOVE this place♥️
A perfect Anniversary Dinner with sensational food, attentive service all in a very comfortable setting.
I travel to eat. And this place is one of the best meals I’ve had. The food, room, location were all excellent. But what made it great was the staff. They really care and enjoy what they do. Thank you so much. I was smart enough to just let them suggest and pair. Good move. Already planning our next trip so we can dine with you again!
All was wonderful
It was one of the top restaurants we ate at in Charleston loved everything about the whole experience thank you
Exceptional!! Everything was excellent!
This was the best dining experience and will recommend this to everyone!
Wonderful Anniversary dinner, we did the Chef's tasting menu which was perfect! We were right by the musicians and it was a perfect volume.
We live in Charleston on the peninsula and consider The Charleston Grill one of our very favorite fine-dining restaurants. General Manager and Maitre de’ Mickey Bakst and his team do an excellent job. The service is impeccable and the food is excellent, and both consistently so.
09/13/2019 for our 21st Anniversary.
From the moment we arrived to our departure nothing could have been better. From the lady at the reception desk to the waitstaff to the sommelier, everyone was pleasant, friendly and helpful.
We selected the 4 course tasting menu. With the exception of a few fish items one member of the party preferred to not include, we gave the server and chef a wide open field.
Our dinner consisted of 3 savory courses and one sweet course. The first, a crab cake, struck a particularly heart rending chord as it was a favorite of a recently deceased person who, under other circumstances, would have been at this table. There was no way anyone connected to the restaurant would have had any pre-knowledge of this.
All 4 courses, crab cake, salmon, lambchop and cheesecake, were executed with precision and presented in a beautiful fashion.
As we did not know what would be included in our meal selecting an appropriate wine was a task. The sommelier went out of her way to be helpful and make suggestions that were in keeping of what our party wanted. The wine she recommended and that we chose fit perfectly.
While clearly not the type of place one goes to regularly it certainly rates as one of the best for a very special meal. Ours was a very special meal.
Live jazz was lovely
Not a party place as much of Charleston seems to be. Friends in Michigan said this place was very good.
We were there when hurricane evacuation was happening. In the midst of approaching chaos this place was charming, reserved and calm. Staff was friendly, professional and casually attentive exactly as I would want. We had exceptional food and service. Cannot imagine anyone have a less than excellent experience.
Amazing service and food!!!
