Another tasty dinner at charcoal. Although the portion size seems to be getting smaller, the flavor of the food is getting better

In my opinion Charcoal continues to be one of the best restaurants in the area. The food Is consistently good, the river views are beautiful and the service is excellent.

Recommended by some friends. it was worth the drive and will come back again soon. If you are a steak lover and the Hanger Steak entree was excellent and will return just to have this dish again. Service was very attentive. Fine wine glasses were provided for both white and red wines. The cost for our dinner was moderate considering that we had appetizers, entrees and dessert.

Interesting menu with complex, delicious ingredients. The menu is not fully descriptive so the wait staff is expecting your questions and you'll be happy you asked.

Everything on the menu is incredible and unlike anything you’ve ever tasted. Highly recommend the bread, homemade pasta’s and hangar steak...but no matter what you go with you’ll be sure to love.

Always a good meal! They keep the menu selection limited but the result is a menu with no disappoints. I believe it is the best restaurant in Bucks.

This is a reliably good suburban lunch/brunch place. Better than a diner, and then some. I had a Korean fried chicken sandwich and it was quite good.

I hear it is transformed into an adventurous and genuinely excellent dining option in the evenings; we certainly will give it a try the next time we are in town.

What a great find! We had heard so much about this place, we finally took the drive! And it was worth it! The restaurant is located upstairs and has a beautiful view overlooking the river. Our server, Jill, was quite helpful and pointed us to some outstanding appetizers not to be missed, beginning with their bread! Believe me, it was worth the price! The calamari were perfectly done, so tender and crispy and the pork ribs had such a satisfying yet curious flavor that we could not stop eating them! We enjoyed the tile fish which was excellent and the soft shell crab which was also perfectly prepared. And even though we were already so full, we could not go without trying the Brioche Doughnuts which were served warm and with a carmel coffee sauce which was addictive. A great find and a perfect evening!

I wish I could pick 3.5 stars, but I cannot. My group's biggest problem with the evening was the length of time we had to wait for everything. We had a table of 5 and the restaurant was half full at its peak. Our reservation was at 7:30 and we were the last ones to leave around 9:40. The servers were nice, got our orders correct and I don't necessarily blame them for the slow service; they cannot bring food to us that the kitchen does not give them. We all ordered appetizers, which came out staggered. First the bread, then the salads to those who got them and finally the calamari to those who ordered them. So at any time 2 people were eating and the rest were watching, or trying to pick on some else's food! Then a big wait until the entrees came out. All the food was delicious homemade bread, pasta, fish, steak, desserts, we had a little of everything. I don't think I would go out of my way to go back, we live 35 minutes away. But if I was in the area and had the time, I would enjoy their food again.

I just completely love the food at Charcoal. The menu is always changing - but still maintains its integrity. My friend and I come back here seasonally. Can't get enough! The pastas and donuts- true love.

The food was delicious as usual. However, the server was a bit neglectful. She never checked on our food and I had to beg for a coffee refill. That should not be allowed.

Picked this place because by the address, it was on the Delaware River. It didn't disappoint. We got seated next to the windows. It was a dreary day but watching the river was great! Food was delicious, very reasonable. I left stuffed. Will go back for dinner!

Great view of the river, excellent coffee, meal and friendly service. Someone was fly fishing while we were eating breakfast. Serving locally roasted, strong coffee with cream is a mark of a restaurant that cares what they serve. Excellent value!

When we want to get a great meal Charcoal never fails. This byob has the best food. We order different plates and split them because everything tastes so good. Tonight with had the BBQ pork rib appetizer which was fall off the bone juicy with a sweet tangy subtle heat sauce. Then we had a bacon rye pasta dish that was to die for. Followed that up by splitting the duck entree and a boudino for dessert. This is one of my favorite places to eat. If we lived closer we’d come more often but sadly we moved and live over an hour away.

Charcoal is a very popular local BYOB offering an interesting menu and delicious meals. Not an extensive menu but worth trying their tasty seasonal offerings. We enjoyed the crispy calamari for our appetizer (bread was warm and tasty). The steak, fish, and duck were excellent, service was exceptional and the ambiance very pleasant (we were seated next to the window with a view of the Delaware river). I highly recommend reservations and viewing the menu in advance.

We always have a wonderful meal at Charcoal! But it is rare, no it is never that we experience slow and curt service. And that’s what we experienced the other night. Hopefully, they were just understaffed or overwhelmed or something. Anyway, the food is worth it!

Having driven by a thousand times, I had family in from out of town and decided to visit. Do not let the nondescript exterior fool you, there is a hidden gem up those steps!! We were seated in the corner with the elevated views up and down the river that were spectacular on a late spring day. Our server was attentive and cheerful without being intrusive. The octopus starter won raves and my duck breast entree was something I would make a special trip for just to eat that alone. The polenta dessert sounded odd, but we snarfed it right down. I am looking forward to my next visit to try more items off the menu.

Amazing execution on the meal. The pasta is some of the best I’ve had outside of the city. I really appreciate the care the chef puts into the noodles. The bread appetizer is also delicious. A good sourdough is a worthy menu item. The entrees we ordered were duck and hanger steak. Both very flavorful and had good accompaniments. Will definitely try out their brunch on the weekend. Great little suburban spot. Pricey but being a byob is a savings.

We shared the softshell crab with ink pasta as an appetizer; it was delicious. The fried chicken was fantastic! Get the doughnut for dessert; I had it with ice cream instead of coffee caramel syrup. I would definitely go back. And definitely bring your own wine!

Awesome restaurant!!

My favorite place to go in Yardley. The food is fabulous: superbly prepared, interesting and always delicious. The view of the river is romantic. My personal favorite appetizer is the octopus, always prepared in different ways, but all the appetizers are great. I had the ink pasta with softshell crab this time. It was great, but I’ve never had a bad dish here — ever. And it’s affordable, especially because it’s BYOB.
