Food was amazing!!! The scallops were perfectly done, the short ribs melted in your mouth and every bite was better than the one before it! Don’t get me started on the doughnut, heaven!
Can't beat the ambiance and views of the Delaware River. Had 7 PM reservation, had to wait 20-25 mins to be seated. Once seated service was immediate, appetizers ordered and brought right away. Bread is amazing. The Grilled octopus was delicious but a bit on the skimpy side. The 2 pastas (Fermented Lemon & Ink Fusilli and Rye Radiatori) unusual and very delicious! The Seared Duck was so flavorful, tender and cooked to perfection.
Although the menu is somewhat limited, it is a great dining experience. If you have room for dessert, the donuts are worth the binge!
Charcoal is a favorite spot in Yardley, PA, overlooking the river. It's a very special place in every way. And I try to go at least every couple of months.
The scallops have returned to divine......! I love Charcoal. Looking forward to next time in a big way.
Always a great meal! Beautiful, relaxing atmosphere👍
2nd time here! It’s our favorite date night place.
We celebrate every significant event in our family at Charcoal. Our 29th anniversary dinner was outstanding! Our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. The food was spectacular. The only time I ever order duck breast is at Charcoal. It is always cooked to perfection. His time, it was paired with roasted asparagus and gnocchi; topped with a butter-herb sauce. The gnocchi were sublime....and I’m convinced that the butter they use has other-worldly properties. It was a magical dining experience.
Always a great experience
As always, the food was impeccable at Charcoal. From the bread to the cucumber salad to the fermented lemon and ink fusilli to the donuts, it was all over the top delicious!
Everything from the food to the waitstaff was great. We will definitely be going back.
Love the bread! Love the food! Love the donuts! The best duck I've ever tasted. Great views and lovely ambiance.
Octopus has returned to the menu and was super with the spicy pepper marmalade, Meyer lemon and ago blanco. Other great new additions were the shisito peppers in green peppercorn marmalade and the beet spaetzle. The hot chicken is always delicious, as are the duck breast and diver scallops! Love this restaurant!
Very fresh and good
Charcoal service and food are awesome...we always have a great time here
Always an outstanding experience. The food is delicious and the staff wonderful.
We’re not accommodating to kids. Very few menu options. The could not manage to split a meal the had two pieces of chicken equally so that two kids could share it.
the best food pennsylvania as we've experienced it in 35 years of living here.
The service and recommendations were great. Food was as delicious as we had heard it would be.
Coming to this place for several years, great for brunch and dinner alike... always rotating in some interesting seasonal specials and twists.
We have been there many times before. My Uncle and his wife from Phoenix really wanted to go to Charcoal because of the river view. We did get a window table. We had a wonderful visit without any disappointments. Very recommended.
Excellent restaurant, the food was delicious and the staff very friendly and professional. Would definitely recommend this restaurant and we will be back!
Charcoal BYOB is a pleasant under the radar local restaurant. The dinner menu has innovative options that are worth the visit. Our most recent dinner consisted of sharing a shrimp and grits appy followed by duck and also the day boat scallops entrees. The scallops had Thai flavorings which blended well and were not too spicy. My wife's lightly grilled (after sous vide) duck dinner included soft gnocchi, asparagus and mushrooms in a tasty jus. I am writing this review because we both agreed that the duck entrée was one of the best we have had in many years of fine dining.
We have been going to Charcoal for decades. Just when you think they cannot improve, they reach new heights. The oysters and cauliflower appetizers dazzled, as did the pasta entrees and the fried chicken. They brought back the pretzel ice cream tonight, and it has that wow factor. Putting it in a sundae with their signature donuts provided an exclamation point to the evening.
Everything was great, from the hostess, servers and staff. The food was delicious, innovative and created, at least from my appetizer and main dish (corn and green beans salad to the scallops with peaches). The combination of flavors were perfect without diminishing the flavor of the protein and the other elements. I never had dessert and this time I tried the doughnut with a nice expresso that completed the experience. Congratulations to the Chef and all those in the kitchen!
Excellent dinner! The wait staff was friendly and helpful. Charcoal does not disappoint. Definitely will be going back and definitely will be recommending to friends.
The short rib dinner was one of the most delicious meals I’ve ever had! Superb.
Always an amazing meal! Original, tasty, and filling. Hands down the best local restaurant!
Absolutely delicious, creative, and beautifully presented entree. Attentive and knowledgeable server.
Very wonderful. We even forgot our wine bottle case and they called us about it.
Food was terrific and service was helpful but not overbearing.
The noodle dishes are well balanced and the hot chicken was on point.
Bread was great. Cacio pasta was soupy and awful. Chicken was very spicy but a good dish.
Menu is very heavy and does not have many light summer offerings
Excellent meal. Chicken were short ribs great, as was cucumber salad and shrimp and grits. Dallas did a find job as server. View is wonderful - of the Delaware. Being on the second floor is a big help.
Love this place.
We happened to find the restaurant on OpenTable. We were drawn to the farm to table approach and the fact they buy from local merchants and farmers. The food was freshly prepared to order and the combinations were very creative. I had the the grilled corn and green bean salad and rye radiatori and my wife a cucumber and cantaloupe salad (not on the menu) and the Yardley hot chicken. For desert, we shared brioche donuts with caramel/coffee sauce. Everything was absolutely delicious. A nice view of the Delaware River and our server could not be nicer and more informative. If back in the area, we definitely will return!
It’s outrageously good. One dish is better than the next.
My first visit here. Everything was delicious. The service was outstanding. We will definitely be back again.
The food is excellent, the ambiance relaxed but gorgeous...my favorite local restaurant
I see why the Philly Inquirer ranked this riverside restaurant as one of the suburban restaurants worthy of the trip. While the menu selections are not that wide, they are thoughtful and interesting. Each dish bursted with flavor - like the cauliflower appetizer, spicy and sweet with a bit of a crunch. The food is fresh and very well prepared. The short rib was one of the best I've had, and the scallops were fresh, deliciously spicy and perfectly cooked. The view of the Delaware river is stellar, this restuarant is perched above River Rd so the traffic doesn't interfere. It's serene atmosphere is a perfect foil for the food. BYOB keeps the cost down. Entrees hover around $30 but pasta dishes in the $20 range. It's totally worth the trip.
Dinner.....creative. Food top quality. Beautiful view of the Delaware River. DON'T skip the bread or Dessert!
