Always an outstanding meal. Staff are very knowledgeable about menu offerings and BYOB is a big +
My favorite restaurant in the area! Innovative menu that taste delicious. The chef really understands the balance of each dishes. Our favorite appetizer is the cauliflower dish. The pastas and main courses are amazing. The best part is the mouth watering donut sundae!! Always a pleasure to experience the dining experience in this establishment.
This is our second time coming to charcoal for dinner. We enjoy both experience. We will definitely come back again. I highly recommend the oyster, calamari, praises prime rib, diver scallops, last but not least THE DOUGHNUT SUNDAE!!!
I enjoyed dinner, and what i ate was delicious...i don't eat a lot of meat and there were very few vegetables available....
Fabulous food!!!! The appetizers- cauliflower was amazing! The homemade pasta and fried chicken was to die for!
Best food in Mercer/Bucks area. Always creative, delicious and a pleasant vibe. My go to for great food.
Delicious lunch. Slightly overpriced for what you get. But a good meal.
Impressed with overall experience of the Restaurant. Could be more choices. Views were lovely. Could be more flavored iced teas.
Everything was fabulous!
The short ribs were outstanding so were the scallops.
Desserts were also outstanding.
Only minus was the noise level.
Service and food were amazing. We were expecting a long wait but lucked out and got seated right away. Our server was excellent, views were lovely and we thoroughly enjoyed the food. We will definitely be back!
They are always updating their menu with the best and freshest ingredients of the season. From the pasta creations to the delicious meat dishes, never disappoints. The duck was cooked to perfection and tasted delicious!
Usually our experience is top notch at Charcoal BYOB. The food experience is unlike any other but the service this time around was a little slow. We will be returning because you can’t find food like this anywhere in the area!
Just keeps getting better. We come to Charcoal about twice each year and always have a fabulous meal. This time was the tops! Every dish was PERFECT.
Only gave it four stars because the teens had trouble choosing an entree that they would like. The adults loved the ecletic menu.
Was disappointed with the braised beef for the price only 2 small cuts and no selection of a side was a shock
Food was creative and delicious. Amongst appetizers and entrees, we tried 2 of the house-made pastas and both were incredible. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable, attentive but not distracting.
Looking forward to a return visit soon.
Went for Birthday. Short ribs were good. Calamari was very tasty. Bread was awesome, as was the brioche with ice cream. Highly recommend.
Very nice experience. Food was very tasty and portions generous. We sat close to the door and the draft from outside was a little cold, other than that we had a great evening at Charcoal.
Our meal was very good. Appetizers tasty, entrees delicious. Dessert donut sundae was tasty. Service very good as well
After telling our waitress I couldn't eat seeds, and confirming they could replace the croutons on our fondue appetizer (croutons had seeds per the description), we got the fondue with seeds all over the apples and radishes. The waitress replaced it, but came back with about a half an apple sliced up, no radishes and a pot of cheese that wasn't even melted. Definitely not worth the $20. My wife's entree of scallops was underwhelming. Only 4 scallops with literally a few pieces of celery and potato sprinkled on top. Tasted good but a very meager portion. (And this in a restaurant that charges $5 for bread!) My hot chicken was great but could've used a starch or carb to go with it - just chicken and lettuce. Our dessert, which was comped due to our disappointment about the appetizer, was a brioche donut sundae and was excellent.
Overall the food wasn't bad but not worth what we paid. There is no ambiance to speak of; it reminded us of a cafeteria. The service was better after a bad start but nothing impressive. With all the other dining options around here I doubt we'll be back.
I ordered a salad and it came with my entree. I said I did not want it because it came late they still charged me for it.
The waitress didn't seem to care and the manager even said I had to pay for it despite the fact that I didn't eat or want it.
Food was amazing as always. The waiter we had was a little frazzled and it showed, but overall experience was really good.
Love this place!
Great food as always. Interesting combination of flavors and texture. I would recommend trying several plates and sharing.
Charcoal BYOB is one of my favorite local restaurants. I've never been disappointed with their food or service. Make sure you get in early on Sundays for brunch, because the line is literally out the door. Brunch, dinner, and breakfast is incredible and their menu changes fairly often so there are tons of new things to try.
Their donuts are impossible to describe in a review. Just order them and thank me later.
Friendly, attentive staff! Even moved our table from a small 2 person table to a 4 person table with a water view! Food was absolutely delicious
Food was outstanding. We passed around several apps and deserts at our table and all of them were terrific. I ordered the scallops and they were delicious!
Delicious as always and the service is perfect. The view of the Delaware can't be beat.
This is one of our favorite BYOBs. The food is delish and the service is always good. But the prices are creeping up and at our last visit scallops were $30 and steak was $37...with a few apps and dessert its a $100 dinner for 2 at our local bistro...we will be back, but not as frequently with these new prices.
Great experience for our first trip. Only gripe is that portions are generally small for the price you pay. We knew that going in so we ordered an extra appetizer so we wouldn't be hungry when we left!
Breakfast was amazing! You can even have ice cream for breakfast, so that alone makes this restaurant forever in my favorites:) The view over the water is so calming. Staff is so friendly. Food absolutely fresh & delicious.
Charcoal is without question the best restaurant in the area. It's like Jesus, a unicorn, and Godzilla all had a baby together and wrapped the baby in a delicious magical rainbow
Absolutely worth the trip for the duck and the cassoulet. Service by Dallas is excellent and food preparation is the best in the region. Take the time to experience this BYOB establishment
The food is consistently good at Charcoal. And there's almost always something for everyone on the menu - picky eaters and foodie types alike. For dinner, the hot chicken is a winner as is the penne in vodka sauce. Brunch - don't miss the benedict specials. Dinner is lively but relaxed, while brunch feels like a bustling downtown diner. Be sure to save room for brioche donuts.
The food was fantastic. We will definitely be coming back. It was really one of the best meals I've ever had and can't wait to go back.
The most amazing food. The menu changes often, with the seasons and fresh available ingredients.
Very good food, as always. Very busy night, which slowed down the kitchen and stretched service to the point where we got the bare minimum in terms of coverage. For a restaurant this good with hefty prices, the turnaround from the kitchen and attention of the service needs to be much better.
Wonderful food prepared with great imaginative flavors that make dining a pleasant experience.
Excellent food, decent service, BYOB with quality glassware for wine. The restaurant aesthetic is a bit minimalist and parking is limited at peak dinner hours. Get a reservation on weekends as it fills up fast
