It was my second time at char . The atmosphere is cozy and the food is phenomenal. The service was on point as well. The music was at a perfect level to where we can enjoy it and still enjoy each other. My girlfriend and I would gladly go back over and over
First time visitors for dinner before Chicago concert at the Count Basie Theater. Our server Terry was outstanding. Could not ask for better service and the food was prepared perfectly. Menu is a la carte with excellent choices. Would highly recommend for a special night out.
first time there,very dissatisfied with seating and acoustics in restaurant,much to loud and far too close together,food from te appetizer to entrees were pathetic,ordered filet mignon and lobster tail, filet was cold when it came out, and lobster tail was smaller than some appetizers at other restaurants,and the pricing is ridiculous for the portions received, the server was excellent however, will never return or recommend this place to anyone, and also drinks seemed to be somewhat watered down,very dissatisfied,we dine out almost every weekend,and the bill was extremely high for what was ordered, no appetizers, only one drink per person and no dessert,almost 170.00 with a gratuity,however the place was completely full as if the food was being given away,go figure.
Loud overpriced subpar wannabe high end steak house. This restaurant was a real let down Friday night. I ordered a medium well filet and received a medium rare, sent it back and it cameback looking and tasting like it was nuked, gross. My wifes filet came medium when she ordered it medium rare., she actually took a piece of minebecause it was so rare. Scalloped potatoes tasted like they were frozen then reheated. Brussel sprout side was ok, could have been roasted/cooked longer. Crab cake appetizer was good and bread selection was good. The potential is there to be good, but restaurant seemed overwhelmed by the crowd, kitchen seemed stressed. .
I was watching television on last week and I seen your commercial. So I looked you up on google and I made reservations.My husband was so surprised,I wanted to surprise him to somewhere special! this was our first time visiting your restaurant and we enjoyed everyone and the atmosphere was fabulous and the food also.i will definitely come back !
Pretty gross watching a waitress go to town biting her hang nails in the main dining room.
Food was ok. Steaks were on the colder side by the time we got them. Nothing exceptional. Some could barely cut them with the steak knifes given.
Death by mashed potatoes = plain mashed potatoes with two pieces of minced truffle on top and a few shreds of cheese and they charge $10 more than the regular potatoes. Totally not worth it.
Brussel sprouts side dish were pretty much raw and hard to eat, would have been better cooked more.
Other food was good, crackling pork shank, kale salad, French onion soup.
This is my third time visiting this restaurant and I won’t be back. The first two times were great but this last visit the waitress was awful. She was pressuring us to order more items and she poured all the remaining wine into my sisters glass so there was none left for me as host so I would need to order another bottle. The bill with tip came to over $500 for five of us without appetizers or desert.
Side dishes- vegetables were $8.95 each. That's way overpriced! A lot of staff around table areas, but it was early for a Saturday night.
I found a hair on my breadstick. The waitress said she'd bring me another one, but forgot
It was extremely disappointing to go to a steak house & order the $55.00 ribeye special to have it cooked incorrectly 3 times. It was ordered medium but was served extremely well done, then raw & then very rare. The server & manager were in agreement & apologized for the kitchen errors. However, if you like to go to a steak house for organic chicken, it was delicious. There are so many good restaurants in Red Bank but this isn't one of them!
The Organic Chicken was Perfect and delicious. Steak was succulent and a quality cut of meat. Potato was huge and 2 could split. Salads were spectacular. The start of the meal (a salad) should dictate the quality of the meal. I'm extremely picky and want good quality (organic if possible) and it should taste excellent. I was very pleased with their food, service and ambiance. I'd go there again. Next time, would you please serve WHEAT FREE/GLUTEN FREE BREAD! Thanks!
