Chaplin's Restaurant & Bar is a 1930's style Japanese Ramen House and cocktail bar. Chaplin's Executive Chef and Partner, Myo Htun, is originally from Burma, but was cooking ramen in Japan at a young age. Myo received a blessing from his mentor in Japan after nearly 30 years of cooking in Japan, to come to America and continue to showcase his authentic Ramen and traditional Japanese cuisine. Chaplin's Restaurant demonstrates the aesthetic of a bustling ramen house in Japan in the 1930's silent film era. There is also a large outdoor dining area that is dog friendly. Chaplin's is located in the heart of the Historic Shaw neighborhood. And it is open until last call 7 days a week. Chaplin's received a Plate certification in the Michelin Guide in 2020. And it is located steps from the convention center and popular Logan Circle, 14th street and City Market.

Every time I go to Chaplin, I leave wanting to return again. The food, the customer service, and the location are ALL amazing.

Heather is the bomb dot com!!! I’ve never gotten an appetizer before at Chaplin!!! and when my “date” wanted to copy someone else’s table 🙄 after we already ordered our entree 🤦🏽‍♀️ she reassured the succulent taste, he needed to know if it was a guarantee, was nothing short of absolute fulfillment! Her down to earth, yet professional go with the flow demeanor made neither one of us feel forced or bad for changing our minds or trying a new ramen different from our own separate past visits at Chaplin’s! The manager on duty was working the room I noticed upon arrival and scurried over to get us seated with the late night subtle trickle in - although we were a “reservation” - we loved that wasn’t even a question but a greeting of let me get you seated right away & asked if the table was okay. Little details matter & improve an experience or why I’ve continued to come to Chaplin and not wander off to be another ramen stan for anyone else! I’ll be back.. maybe just without him 🤭 thanks for a great evening!

Another great experience at Chaplin! The food was delicious, as always, but I have to give a special shoutout to our server, Tony. He was once again magnificent—knowledgeable about the menu, attentive, and truly excellent at what he does. Great service makes all the difference, and Tony never disappoints. I’ll definitely be returning!
