Chaplin's is always packed so plan ahead! The food is yummy but stick to shumai, gyoza, and the ramen. thought the pork platter was mediocre but everything else was tasty.

Fantastic restaurant. Great prices. The service was so nice as well - I forget his name but he was very personable and genuine in his recommendations. We had the spicy ramen and the chaplin and everyone at the table was really impressed! It's really loud, but we could still hear one another to catch up - probably a great spot for groups under 10 (it's pretty small).

Overall I enjoy Chaplin and their ramen. However, service was a bit slow despite it not being that busy. Our server was friendly, just seemed a bit distracted.

Just wondering if they have cameras as I left my wallet and it was returned thankfully as soon as I got up with over $100 missing. Sucks that I basically paid for our group meal double thanks to whoever felt the need to keep all my cash. Great food and experience but now my night is ruined.

The music was entirely too loud, made it difficult to have dinner with friends.
Initially service was slow, but after the time from ordering to delivery was good.
The food was really good.

I made a reservation for 6 at 6:30 and requested outdoor seating. The hostesses were rude to the members of my party and made them wait to be seated until a majority arrived—even though there was plenty of seating outside. When I arrived they told me I was the first to arrive and they’d cancelled the reservation after fifteen minutes due to “no show.” I explained the rest of my party was already there. They pretended to look around (never actually leaving the host stand) and then one waved her hand in the air saying “they might be on the patio.” A group of 6 on the patio is hard to miss. Of course, everyone was there. Once I inquired later about whether they could reverse the cancellation they said there was nothing they could do. Of course, no apology for making a mistake and no offer to remedy. Our waiter was barely there—he never stayed long enough for us to put in the extra orders we wanted, I guess because they were busy. Still, I’ve never been treated this rudely by the staff there in the 3+ years I’ve been going (at least they used to be kind and helpful) and with all the lovely restaurants in the area, I’m happy to go somewhere else.

Vibrant, cool atmosphere. Food is very good. Ramen is a good size portion. We had to wait way too long for it - 40 minutes. When they realized it they apologized several times and comped our appetizer. So I’m ok with it.

What a great time! The food was really good and the value was well worth it. We had two orders of gyoza, the app platter and we each had a bowl of ramen. It came to $33 per person before tip which is more than fair in my eyes and everything was delicious!

Great asian food, nice ambiance and good service. We had the pork gyosa (good), fried wonton (great) and chaplin ramen (great and not spicy). Ramen portion was shared so they split it into 2 bowls, which was nice. The ichigo parfait we had for dessert was excellent. Great experience overall, totally recomend.

Chaplin’s offers great food and beverages in a fun, bustling atmosphere. My colleagues and I greatly enjoyed the veggie gyoza and the 5 different flavors of ramen that we sampled. The craft beer selection was also very good. We were seated in an alcove near the first floor bar, which was a little loud, but we were also a little loud, so it was fine. I’ll definitely return to Chaplin’s.

The food and service is always impeccable, but the last 2 times I’ve dined there I have had an issue with the host stand. If 1 person in the party is running 5 minutes late they’ll refuse to seat the party, which is very frustrating. Please be more flexible and less robotic when it comes to seating your guests.

I had a reservation for two at 8pm, arrived at 5 til, and was told it would be a “moment” before I was seated. My friend arrived shortly after 8 when I checked with the host again, again, I was told it would be a couple minutes before my table was ready. At 8:15 I checked to see that they hadn’t somehow removed my reservation from the list, to which I was told “you’ll be seated any moment now.” At 8:30 we were seated. I would have happily sat down to dinner after a reasonable delay if I’d been given an honest estimate, if management had shown any sign of hospitality, or there had been any acknowledgement of the inconvenience other than a meek apology from the hostess as we were seated. It’s a great venue and a fun spot for dinner with friends, but a restaurant this established shouldn’t manage tables like it’s opening night.

I had a great experience at Chaplin’s! I had a reservation and I still had to wait for a table. The hostess brought over 2 glasses of Prosecco on the house and apologized for the long wait. The service was great and the food was tasty! The atmosphere was fun and the restaurant was pretty loud but in a good way. I would definitely go back.

I would love to give this restaurant five stars. The cocktails were lovely, along with the decor, etc.

But it's called a "Ramen House," and the ramen was extremely bland. There are much better places in the DMV. Boru, Daikaya, etc.

But the Pilgrim cocktail was one of the best Mezcal-based drinks I've had. Go for a drink, not the ramen.

We made a reservation for 3 at 7:30 pm on a Sunday night to celebrate a birthday and were seated promptly at 7:30. Our server was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and gave personalized drink and food recommendations, taking into account vegetarian and non-pork dietary restrictions. The drinks were delicious and inventive. The ramen is always amazing. The restaurant is usually packed so the service can slow down a bit when it's busy. Overall a wonderful experience, and I am always impressed with the food here.
