El servicio no fue el mejor, no tenían lista nuestra mesa al llegar. Se les olvidó parte de nuestro pedido y la comida no estuvo tan buena.
The menu prices wasn’t aligned exactly with my receipt
Excellent French food served in a very nice outdoor seating arrangement. Philippe, the owner, went out of his way to make us feel welcome and make us enjoy the food. Do try its new Opera dessert!
Possibly the best French place in the city, don't miss your chance to try it!
Best food & oservice ever!
Fantastic food & service, plus a well designed outdoor setup produced a spectacular dinner. I recommend starting with a cocktail & oysters while you decide on your pairings, perfect start to a dining experience!
Quality French food with a more casual family feel, have already recommended to friends.
Very nice birthday dinner. The food and service were both excellent!
Truly one of the best meals you can get in SF ! And the owners are lovely humans and could not be more gracious and committed to giving you a memorable meal
Everything is awesome! The owner is super humor
This place used to be one of my favorites, but post-shutdown I guess they either lost a lot of the original staff or are under some new management? Because it is nothing like it used to be.
The hostess was not helpful at all, just waving people around like herding cattle which set the tone for the night.
We waited literally 1 hour for the appetizer and another hour for the entree. There was non-existent servers and non-existent service in general. Just closing the check took 20 minutes for them to come pickup the card.
The food quality has also been severely degraded, perhaps the good chef is gone? I do not know. Either way, its too bad this once great spot is now a shadow of its former self. With things reopening, there's little to no reason to waste another night here. RIP.
Great food and kid friendly even with the pandemic restrictions. The outdoor Parklet is really nice. Love the bar and the steak dinner that I had.
My bf and I were seated in the corner on the street and felt like we were being ignored as the customers who got seated behind us got their food first. Chef was pretty nice and asked how the food was. Food was great but got cold easily since it’s outdoor dining. The server served the wrong water and didn’t ask us how we like our steak to be cooked.
I have been coming to Chapeu for years with my family and it never disappoints! The filet mignon was out of this world, cooked to perfection. I wish they had a appetizer size of the cauliflower soup because it was fantastic! And the gratin was delish, we even picked some up for the next nights dinner at the Clement street farmers market!
Not a lot of effort into ambiance for the price. No tablecloths. No recognition of 25th birthday as was mention in the reservation. Food was decent. Appetizers were the best part
I love the food at chapeau. It is one of the best French restaurants in San Francisco. Philippe, the chef and owner, is amazing.
I took my friend there for a birthday celebration! The outdoor seatings were nicely spaced apart with separation. Both the service and food were excellent! Definitely will be coming back here. They really made the birthday celebration special!
One of our favorite San Francisco restaurants. Happy to enjoy such amazing meals.
Everything is good!
Great food, great service.
Ambiance and noise level are inaccurate due to the outdoor seating
Delicious food. Everyone around us was happy. Will be back soon.
I’ve already booked my next date night!!! Everything was wonderful - the service, the food, the wine. Excellent experience.
Chapeau has moved to outdoor seating during the pandemic, and at the same time has maintained all the ambience you would expect from a French bistro. Our dining experience included attention to details that included rich sauces that were prepared to just the right consistency and flavor balance, hearty portions, and service that attended to our pace. The filet mignon was cooked rare for me and medium rare for my wife, and both were done properly with consistency throughout. Although the evening was chilly, we were accommodated with heaters and slightly faster service.
Love this place. Neighborhood gem. Such good food and friendly service
Words cannot convey how good the food and dining experience was! If you want a true Parisian food experience, this place is a must visit! Phillipe the Chef was awesome and very personable. Myself and Wife will definitely return. I wish there were more menu items, but simplicity is key.
The food and service was very good. They do a great job with the outside dining during these trying times. I hope they are able to keep some outside when things get back to "normal". It would be nice to enjoy a meal out there on a nice evening.
Great food! Great service! Merci beaucoup!
In these crazy times, Chapeau has the customer in mind and has made the experience memorable even in a mask. The food and the service are impeccable. Chapeau will go to great lengths to insure that every diner has a French food experience to remember.
I cannot say enough good things about what the Chapeau team has done to make COVID disappear for 2 hours.
Phenomenal food, service and atmosphere!
Delicious as always! Best it could have been given the circumstances.
Special thanks to their amazing Chef, we will come back!
This was only my 3rd time eating out since COVID began 7 1/2 months ago. It was a huge pleasure. The food was delicious. The staff was charming and attentive. The outdoor seating was well-spaced and comfortable, with a heat lamp keeping us cozy. I felt safe and happy and look forward to returning again soon.
Chapeau is the best! We live in Los Angeles, but we travel to Chapeau to celebrate special occasions. The food is amazing....Phillipe and Sebastian are just the best and I can't recommend this wonderful restaurant highly enough!!
Chapeau still serves fabulous food and excellent service under trying circumstances. They also sanitize the tables before and after parties are seated. They've also extended their hours to accommodate their customers.
The servers were very pleasant. I had a good time joking with all of them. The chef owner was very attentive. He came to our table several times during our meal. The food was very delicious. I specially enjoyed the outside alfresco sitting.
Very nice - service and care for customers well done.
It was our second time, and my best experience (despite the outside place due to Covid)!
This was our first night out in a proper (outdoor) restaurant in months. Phillipe as always was so welcoming and the food, again, as always was delicious. The pared down menu still delivered on great French fare, and Ellen always seems to pick the right bottle to go with the meal. Was nice to come back to something so familiar, in a safe and delicious way.
Wonderful meal! Exceptional flavors and didn’t leave hungry. Portions were hearty, and presentation was unpretentious. Will dine here again.
Filet Mignon not as good as it used to be, so sad
