    Family run restaurant with a friendly and warm vibe. Classic French menu executed perfectly. Many options for the three or four course menus. Great desserts! We'll be back.

    My experience at Chapeau was superb. I ordered from the three-course meal menu and every dish was delightful. A superb dinner. We will definitely be back.

    Chose this place because of the floating island, which is my husband's favorite dessert. It was fantastic, and the rest of the meal didn't disappoint. The salade lyonnaise was superb, with salty lardons and an absolutely perfectly poached egg. I had the cassoulet, which was delicious but very, very filling. My husband's filet mignon was also excellent, extremely tender and nicely rare. We chose the 4-course option and had a grilled scallop in an amazing grapefruit sauce. It was indescribably good. Honestly, I'd go back just to have that salade lyonnaise again and again.

    What a wonderful experience! I went to this restaurant with family for many years and it was a wonderful, neighborhood, delicious gem. I had not been there in quite awhile and it was even better than before! I was immediately welcomed at the door and continued to receive extraordinary service all night long. From the Pomegranate Martini to the Profiteroles, everything was fantastic. I particularly love that they have a petit menu on Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday that is wonderfully priced. I thought the portions might be small but they were hearty. The mushroom starter was rich, earthy and delicious. The pork tenderloin was cooked to perfection, and the profiteroles...there aren't enough superlatives for good profiteroles with a rich, deep chocolate sauce poured over them. I definitely will return to this lovely gem.

    Such a welcoming staff, food was very well prepared and presented ( the scallop dish was transcendent) . i will certainly return

    Terrific neighborhood restaurant we have frequented coming up on 30 years -- Phillipe's always the ultimate chef and Ellen the warmest, most congenial hostess. Service overall excellent! Bartender made outstanding drinks, a very nice start to the evening. Convivial atmosphere w all having a wonderful time. We had high expectations from our many years of dining here but our experience wasnot what it had been in the past. Same menu but some of the wow factors no longer there:, lyonnaise salad enjoyed multiple parties, moules/ frites proportion was teaser size rather than appetizer size. Salmon trio appetizer was excellent. We miss having available the Peregourdine sauce with the filet, no longer on the menu. My medium rare steak came out well done,oddly shaped as well as uneven in thickness, heavy on the butter but close to unseasoned, prepared by the sous chef. Branzino was delicious! Creme brulee missing the richness of the typical creme brulee. Love the owners and the staff, although tonight's dinner left me thinking more bistro than fine dining, especially with the new prices, smaller portions and the sous chef needing more experience and not quite ready to fly on his own. I am certain if Phillipe had prepared the filets, they would have been a 10 out of 10. We've always had memorable dinners at Chapeau, tonight's experience was not up to the level we've been accustomed to, left feeling a bit let down.

    Exceptionally dining experience. It began by being warmly greeted by the owner at the door and continued through the exceptional food, attentive service and great wine pairing. Chapeau is such a treat. I try to visit this spot every time I’m in town visiting my son and his family.

    Loved the first time and brought friends a second time to celebrate a birthday. Met who I believe is one of the owners. She’s so lovely and warm! Food and wine paired perfectly. Left with full tummies and satisfied spirits. It was a wonderful experience all around!!

    This is one of my favorite restaurants and I’ve been going for decades. This experience was not the best because of the noise. It was impossible to have a conversation with my friends and it diminished the whole experience. It’s not their fault: people just forget there are others in a restaurant besides them. Food and service were great and Phillipe is charming and was sympathetic to my feedback.
