Chang'an is one of the best fine dining Chinese restaurant in Vancouver BC. Our unique cuisine integrates traditional Shaanxi tastes and contemporary food plating. We wish you'll enjoy a memorable artistic culinary experience on our dishes while preserving the historic significance of Chinese culture.

We value our guests and we hope every guest to have a chance to taste our Signature Roast Peking Duck. Due to limited availability, all Roast Peking Ducks are for pre-ordered only by calling Restaurant's phone number at 604-681-1313 or 604-306-5528. Maximum 1 duck per group until sold out. Best Peking duck on the planet! The bok choy and pea shoots with ginko were perfect compliments. What a meal! We will be back! Ask for Robbie, he's a great server and GM!

This is the worst restaurant I’ve ever been to in my life. I think McDonald’s has better service than this place. Nobody welcomed us, the server never refilled our water, and he never smiled. He didn’t even make small talk with us or check on our table. This was the worst service ever, and he ruined my wife’s birthday. This is one of those restaurants where you feel they don’t deserve any tip. The server seemed like a manager — just an older Chinese man without name tag. I don’t recommend this terrible

Wonderful food. We had the duck and it was truly amazing, both the taste and how it was served with a flambe at the table, then a course of the skin (which was wonderful) and then the duck meat. All served with paper-thin pancakes and multiple condiments. The four of us ate every bit. Our next favorite dish was the fish in a hot pot. It is served with dry ice in a saucer underneath that is covered with water at the table so it fogs up around the dish--very impressive. And it cools the dish just a touch so it is not too hot to eat. Both the texture and taste were divine. Also the vegetables were similarly great--crispy green beans and eggplant. And we appreciated the free parking. The service was a bit abrupt but not actually rude, just not gracious. We put up with it. We will be back next time we are in Vancouver, we are already looking forward to it..

The foods were good but the services were really badly. They made us waiting and waiving to let them know that we wanted to order drinks and foods. The waiter didn’t come to refill water or checked with us about the foods. They only came to ask or remind for the last call about the foods due to the kitchen will be closed soon. The servers looked not happy to provide the services. I went to Mott restaurant and Ding Quan Restaurant last Sunday. They provided and served us really good. But this restaurant looked like they don’t care about their customers at all.

The service was great and the food was ok. If you want the roast duck, be sure to call ahead — it might not be available otherwise. The outdoor covered seating felt a bit messy and blocked the view.

We loved our dinner at Chang ‘an! The food was amazing (highly recommend the hot and sour soup and Peking Duck), the manager was charming when he stopped by our table to ask about our experience, and our waiter Alex was wonderful. Such a great date night for my husband and me!

Roast duck was good, but way too expensive. There were only two pieces of fish maw in the fish maw soup and some mushrooms. Didn’t taste anything from the soup, and it’s just warm. The fried dumplings were good. The appetizer Jelly fish was so so. I do not recommend this restaurant.
