Outstanding food and service! Well done in today’s “dine in” environment.
Great service, intimate table as requested..
Dawn was an amazing server
Wonderful as always!
We had dinner. My wife had chicken spaetzle and I had a steak. The food was excellent. My steak was cooked as I ordered. Guinness, Jamesons, and a glass of wine were the perfect compliments. Our server was cordial and efficient. We were so impressed we made a reservation for brunch Saturday morning. Again, an excellent meal. I would recommend Chandlers to anyone. A reservation is a good idea; they filled up quickly.
Great local treasure in Petoskey! Food and service were great!
We always have a fine dining experience at Chandler’s, particularly when seated in the wine cellar!
Food tasted a bit overcooked. Otherwise great experience. Wonderful ambience and service
Best restaurant in town, I would recommend this to anyone looking for a good meal.
We were a group of 8 doing a bike ride from Harbor to Petoskey. The casual elegance and great food was perfect mid-ride.
Wonderful filet ! Generous pours on our drinks and very safe as far as social distancing rules are concerned! Seated right away even tho we were bit early for our reservation
On vacation in Petoskey and heard great things about Chandlers. I’d have to agree- it was a great experience. Sat in the wine room which I highly recommend- my husband and I both had filets. Good wine and sushi as an appetizer.
Food was good. After-dinner Coffee cocktail we sent back.
There was a lot of commotion and wait staff bustling by our table
Hostess was seemingly very overwhelmed and couldn’t handle the flow of people. We were on time for our reservation, and once we actually found the hostess to check in, she told us it’d be about a 10 min wait. 15 min later—after she’d immediately seated a couple that arrived after we did for a reservation at the same time as ours—we checked back with her and she said it’d be another 10-15 min wait. We watched her try to manage other frustrated customers to no avail, and no manager or server stopped to help her once. When she finally asked someone for help, he found a place to seat us. By the time we finally sat down, it was a few min before closing, we were irritated, and the server was rushed, unsurprisingly. A good host/hostess makes a huge difference in customer experience, and unfortunately in this case, the hostess was ineffective and apparently had no help/support from other staff. Super cool atmosphere and food and drinks were good, but unfortunately both were overshadowed by bad service. We wouldn’t recommend to others.
Amazing, AMAZING, AHHH-mazing! Chef Tommy chatted table side after we raved about everything, especially the chicken dinner (didn't know chicken could be that mind-blowing!). Our romantic dinner in the Wine Cellar has elevated to a lifelong memorable moment!
We arrived at the restaurant and seated immediately, but were never asked if we had reservations. I had the Ruben and chips and it was very good. It came with a Dipping sauce, which was amazing. I wanted more but was unable it ask because our waitress was MIA (missing in action). Overall I enjoyed the visit.
Had a shrimp salad for lunch. Awesome
My reservation was made 8 days ahead. I was disappointed that our table of two was placed in a room with three large parties of 8 or more. Considering the danger of covid-19 transmission, particularly when people are talking loudly, it was quite irresponsible of the restaurant to place us in a room with large gatherings. Our server was as attentive as she could be considering that she had large parties to serve as well.
Thee food was great.
Great food and wine. Food took a bit long to get served. We sat in the wine room and it was wonderful.
Best burger in the entire country! They have adapted very well to the new normal - the place is great
My sister and I were on vacation and this restaurant came up as some of the best in the area. And let me tell you what???!! We were NOT disappointed. Everything was so good, from the food (they laugh at portion control here), the service and I especially loved the decor and ambiance that the place gave off! It was such a delight to go here!!
Chandlers never fails. Though it would be nice to have a note saying 4’o clock is when menu changes are made and may take at least 40 minutes for food to start coming out. Our reservations were at 4 and it took forever for food to come out if we had known there was a shift change we would've came in at 4:30. Other than that, this restaurant always excels in food and service.
Great cocktails, the appetizers were extraordinary. Dinner was splendid. Great wine selection. Love it here.
Celebrated our 30th Anniversary in Petoskey and Chandler’s was recommended by a couple friends. So I made reservations and was surprised when they seated us in the wine cellar. But the food & service were awesome and we ended up talking with the couples around us who were also celebrating anniversaries! Turned out to be a fun evening that we will always cherish!
Outstanding as always!
Wonderful! We were in the wine cellar area. Our food and service were excellent. Perfect spot for our 30th anniversary!!
Everything ala carte. Food we had was very good but portions seemed small and pricey. When our food came we asked for a bread basket and were told they don't provide that any longer. I guess you sell more appetizers that way. The place seemed busy so I guess the place is popular, just not a place for me.
My wife and myself travel extensively and ate at many outstanding establishments across and the food at chandlers was as good as anywhere we have ate. Unfortunately the waitress completely ruined the evening. First open table should be aware that the restaurant does a shift change at 4pm so even though we made reservations at 4 which was available to choose on open table when we were seated a waitress came up and said she could get us our drink order but they do a shift change and have to bring in the food so the evening waitress would take our order when they were set up at 5pm. We said we were not aware and she said she would see if we could get us our cheese platter. Came back and said the manager would take care of it. Never happened. We sat there and at 5 our new waitress took our order. We mentioned the cheese platter and she said she would go look. We watched 2 cheese platters come out and served to people who were seated after us. The waitress took our order then went over to a table that was just seated and must of lived in the area because the waitress was discussing family things with them. We watched her bring them bread and butter not once but twice and we were never offered any. She finally came over and took our order and placed it. Then she went and took the order of the people she knew. The waitress spent the entire evening talking to them and ignoring us and others. We saw the orders come out from the kitchen and assumed the 2 sea bass plates were ours but of course she took them over to her friends and we waited another 15 minutes for our sea bass to arrive. Except for coming over and placing our bill on the table she never asked how we we're doing, was the food good, would you like another drink. She spent her whole time coddling over the two people she knew. I am going to recommend the restaurant because the food is exceptional but people need to be aware of the shift changes and I hope other wait staff are not as bad as ours.
Always great food and service!
Good food and atmosphere. Make sure you make a reservation first or you may not get in.
If you want to eat make sure you make a later reservation for dinner. We set ours for 4 pm and ate at 5:30. They switch from lunch to dinner and it takes time to set up for Gourmet dishes.
Excellent breakfast, great staff.
Excellent service, staff, and food. Chandler's is the pinnacle of fine dining in northern Michigan. I have never had a distasteful experience while at this restaurant. Oh, and their dessert is to die for!
Excellent food and service, as always!!!!!
In these times a nice dinner out is special, we enjoyed it very much.
For a high rated restaurant, I was very disappointed. The patio area was shabby to say the least. The wait staff did the absolute minimum amount of work required. The food was tasty but we expected superb taste and presentation especially for the price. The bbq Amish chicken breast was dry and no sauce, the beans were mediocre and the corn bread so dry I needed water every time I took a bite of it. The salmon was no better than anything I can fix at home. The appetizers were limited and not to our liking. No additional amenities like bread or crackers were offered as we waited an unacceptable amount of time to receive our food, with no wait staff interaction during that time. Will never return or recommend this establishment!
A favorite anytime we are in the area. Worth the drive for the food and the amazing wine selections. Highly recommended.
We had wonderful service and food. Sat in the wine room and 2 couples were over served and swearing very loud. Management should of removed them and servers should not of had to handle the problem. Everyone was happy when they left.
Hate to lead with this, but every server, busser, greeter work masks CORRECTLY! Well trained. Bravo!
Started with the Chanterelles and gnocchi for an appetizer. Amazing flavors - just the right hint of bacon to pop the woodiness in the mushrooms.
Main course was the Duck confit with polenta and spicy greens, paired with a lovely Chateauneuf du Pape. A wonderful mix of flavors and textures in a classic presentation. Duck - perfection; polenta - perfection; greens - perfection.
Our server, Jordan, had detailed knowledge of the menu and extensive wine list. He had exactly the right balance of interaction and reserve.
Adding to the list for regular visits.
I can’t say enough about this wonderful restaurant! One of the best meals I’ve ever eaten! Great ambiance and service. Definitely will make this a stop on all future trips to Petoskey!
