Seemed like we were the forgotten table. Food was lukewarm when it arrived.
Champions is a regular place for me when I am in Cambridge on business, staying at the Marriott. The food is good, the atmosphere is convivial, and the service is terrific. Michaela always greets you with a smile and Dottie is the best server I have ever met. She is friendly and responsive and makes you feel right at home. Endrin and Yali are also terrific. I always look forward to eating at Champions.
A great place for watching sports!
If you want good, safe, basic fare in a casual atmosphere, Champions is an excellent place to go. The staff (especially Dottie, who is terrific) is welcoming, responsive, and helpful and dining there is always an enjoyable experience. The soups are consistently good and the salmon and burgers are excellent. There are lots of televisions on the walls so you won't miss any sports events or news. I travel to Cambridge on business a lot and Champions is always a destination for me.
Great place to watch sports events! Service is excellent.
I was there for the Pats game, I had made reservations for a table because I thought it was going to be packed, but it wasn't. So my date and I just sat at the bar and watched the game and had appetizers. The bar tenders were pretty nice and they made good drinks.
A little loud, but it was understandable because it was football season
Great staff great food. Stayed overnight it was perfect thank you
Food was average, nothing outstanding. Service was ok @ best. Server seemed very rushed and not very informative. The restaurant itself had very little ambiance, like dining in a cafeteria.
We had an excellent server - very efficient, pleasant, and not overbearing.
Service was excellent.
Food was good.
Surprised we had to ask them to turn on the Patriots game and turn on the volume as it is as sports bar in Boston....
Really disappointing. They couldn’t figure out how to change channels to watch game we wanted to see, which is pretty important for a sports bar
The waiter was attentive and the menu was good for a group of people
Restaurant was very meh...I think we had 4 different waiters which is fine but they were all really pushing specific drink orders which were not even close to what we were looking for. Food was aggressively mediocre.
Have had several business meetings at Champions for clients staying at the Marriott. Good buffet and servers are very pleasant eager to make your experience pleasant. Since it's a big space, you can find tables for quiet/private conversations, or to host a group. Menu has something for everyone. Offers a discount to MIT employees/students.
We enjoyed the fresh salads with shrimp or salmon. One person ordered macaroni and cheese plus avocado toast
Convince of location
Good portion sizes.
The restaurant was lightly attended and it took 45 mins for hamburgers to be served. Good burgers but wow
My son and I ate here for breakfast. The service was over the top excellent! The food was delicious too.
Three of us were happy with the food but burger (for the fourth person) which was supposed to be well done was rare. Service was excellent. Our server changed a few times and they were very good about communicating this to us. Great location. Pleasant ambience.
Good place to watch sports games. Many TVs. Wish they had a larger beer and spirits selection.
Part of the Boston Marriott in Cambridge, they have a large selection of beers on tap. It's a sports bar, so lots of tvs. Food is fresh and locally sourced. The fresh fish was surprisingly good, apparently they have a real chef. Wasn't expecting that at a sports bar.
A dependable place. food was good. service staff was professional and attentive.
I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone. It needs to be remodeled. The menu fod is marginal at best.
Was good seated promptly food arrive hot and tasty
Sports bar with pretty good food! Love their Tuesday deals
Server was very accommodating
Went for the Patriots playoff game and surprised to see it so quiet and empty. Odd since when I tried to reserve a table for the game on OpenTable they said they didn't have availability at the time I wanted, yet when I arrived at that time the restaurant was EMPTY and there were only 2 or 3 reserved signs on tables. The food was okay, nothing amazing, but what else would you expect at a sports' bar. Missed the opening kickoff and first few plays because no one thought to change the TV's and sound after the first game had ended on a different channel. So while the Pats were starting their playoff game. They restaurant was watching the news for about 5 minutes. The only reason I'd go back is because I know now that I could at least get a table last minute.
I have been to this restaurant twice. First time with my wife and this time with my friends for a drink. We ordered only appetizers, fried calamaris, chicken wings, green bean fries, and hummus, and beers. No surprise, all appetizers were very good (see my other reviews); soft calamaris, lightly fried green beans, warm pitas with hummus but little tough texture wings. I chose this restaurant for two reasons. We do not need to shout for the conversation and have a good selection of beers. Other pub restaurants in Kendall are way too crowded on Friday evening and you have to shout. If you want to enjoy your drinks and conversations with your friends, I highly recommend this restaurant.
It is part of the Marriott that is next door in the MIT area. This place was very casual and very loud. They had a trivia kind of thing going on with a guy on a speaker system throwing questions out to the whole restaurant to answer to win prizes. It was annoying since we had not known about this and came just to have a casual dinner. The chicken tenders are the frozen kind, the guacamole is the kind that comes out of a bag. Nothing is freshly prepared. I would not go back.
American fare with a little flare. Service was excellent.
Service started out great and after we ordered it kind of felt like we were forgotten. Wait staff were nice, but just a so-so experience. Food was average.
nice setting and the food was good
Thank you for the great service and the awesome food.
Waitress gave us the wrong order.
Overall, I was never a fan of "hotel" food. Champions is making me rethink that old adage.
Onion soup made with stout was excellent (not a salty/prepared broth); chicken skewers were tasty and I also used the dipping sauce on the greens (arugula?). One friend had the Black & Blu Burger w/onion rings and raved (over a burger!). Great combination of flavors in my salad - Grilled BBQ Chicken w/apples.
While we sat at the bar, there was a large group enjoying (not TOO loudly) college hoops on TV in the lower dining area.
Will definitely return, maybe even to watch a game on TV, and in any case plan on trying more delicious food!
We were able to make a reservation for a group of six.. walk in with minutes until the game started, sit right down and get excellent service and plenty of TV's to watch. Worked out really well.
Food tasted great, but caused stomach problems for me and my friend almost immediately.
