Dinner at Chaminade is usually a rare treat and I have had great dinners there. I was very much anticipating the Thanksgiving Buffet. However, it wasn't very good or special; the turkey was dry, the sides and the desserts were okay. The lines were long and I was often waiting for stuffing, gravy or cranberry sauce. Nothing was outstanding enough to make it worth the per plate price of $60.00 If It was half the price, or even $40.00 a plate I would be happy with our meal. I will go to dinner again at the Chaminade, but not the Thanksgiving buffet.

I lucked out with a last minute reservation for the Thanksgiving buffet. Was told that a reservation was available but that we could only be accommodated outside - I guess the idea being that we were risking inclement weather. The weather was beautiful and we scored a table with an expansive view of the landscape backdropped by the ocean. Our timing was perfect for a stunning sunset. While I’m not a huge fan of buffets in general, this one was varied, fresh, and well stocked. There were plenty of choices for everyone in our party. Between the five of us, we have varied tastes and dietary preferences. Service was friendly and adequate. Atmosphere felt festively relaxed , rather than festive in a stuffy kind of way. I will note that had we been seated inside, it’s likely we would have had a very different experience. It seemed that the resort did everything they could to accommodate as many people as possible indoors. It was somewhat crowded and as a result, on the loud side. My family has already talked about making this a Thanksgiving tradition moving forward, IF we can be assured of an outdoor table. Everyone, from my 70 year old dad to my 3 year old son, was happy with our experience!

We went on Thanksgiving. They charged $20 for valet parking, and we had to take their shuttle up to the restaurant. Their shuttle wa# a minivan, and I was not able to climb into the back. As we ate our dinner, someone took his dog outside by the window to do his business. Gross to have to watch that while we were eating.

Although it had become a tradition for us to have Thanksgiving dinner here, we probably won’t return next year unless they do something about the valet service. The food was very good.

One of the best views in town out on the patio, and at this time of year it's not the least bit crowded. With space heaters and fire pits, add very attentive service... It is one of my go-to places for a quiet after work dinner. Worth the price.

they bill this as a SUNDAY CHAMPAGNE BRUNCH which it has been for the several years i've been going there. We were informed that it's only one glass of Champagne now. Which is ridiculous. When our party of 5 were informed of this we all laughed. And the two other parties sitting around us were not happy either. Clearly that is a draw. A server said management cut it off because a large party a couple of weeks prior got too drunk and made a scene. Don't cut a lovely benefit for everyone based on a bad experience of one part. LAME! Unfortunately if this truly is the "new rule" then we will no longer come back. 25+ years of loyal dining...

Service was great, but food was hit or miss, especially for the price. Short ribs were over cooked, artichokes over-saturated. The view is the best part of this dining experience, so if you eat there during the evening hours when it's dark you lose all of the ambiance. The interior is very dated - carpet floors, banquet style seats. It is NOT as fancy as it looks on the website. We went for a special occasion and had noted that in our reservation. No one asked us why we were dining there or if we were there to celebrate. Wouldn't go out of my way to eat here again.

First thing, I received an email that you cancelled my reservation. I called and was told to come in at the scheduled time. ???

I ordered a beet salad that was a green salad with 3 small beet bites. I ordered the black cod with mushrooms, the fish was extremely mushy and the mushrooms were extremely dry and chewy. This dish was aweful. The server said it had been ling cod as the fish and they changed to black cod, must be to save money.

I have dinned at Chaminade very happily for at least 25 years. I am so disappointed.

Clearly the restaurant was understaffed. We waited a half hour for drinks and then another half hour for 1st course. Pea soup was excellent but my main course - hanger steak was 4" x 1" x 1" - probably not over 2-3 oz. Don't know if they were running out of food but they did run out of one of the desserts on the menu. Won't return.

Went for a birthday dinner. We all enjoyed our meals! I had the halibut, my son had the scallops, my daughter had the mac and cheese and my hubby had the steak. All was delicious. The cheesecake and the sticky toffee pudding for dessert were fantastic! The only complaint was the creme brûlée, way too "brûléed". And the creme was thick and not great at all.
Our server was fantastic. I didn't get her name, but she was awesome, friendly and down to earth!
We'll definitely go back again! (We just won't order the creme brûlée)

My husband and I went to the Chaminade to celebrate our twentieth wedding anniversary this past Saturday night. I notified the restaurant that we were celebrating our anniversary and that we wanted patio seating. When we arrived, there was no mention made of our special occasion and we were told that we would have to be put on a waiting list for outdoor seating. Disappointed, we sat inside which was little better than a cafeteria with plain tables with no linens and convention-style chairs. It took fifteen minutes before anyone even acknowledged that we had been seated and asked if we wanted water or another beverage. After our order, it took well over 40 minutes for us to be served, the excuse being given that they were hosting two large weddings at the resort at the same time. Our food was ill-prepared, some items completely undercooked, and inedible. When asked if we wanted a box, we explained that the food was not at all up to standard. The head server came over, apologized for the experience, and took the main courses off of our bill.

There were children running and yelling throughout the restaurant; one even running into a glass door, startling everyone. Another table nearby waited over an hour and twenty minutes for their entrees, and yet another table complained about the ambiance and service and left. We overheard the wait staff talking to one another about forgetting to put in orders for tables that were waiting for a long time for their food.

We chose this restaurant as a special place to celebrate a special occasion. We expected more from a highly recommended resort restaurant. We will never go back.

Had a 6:30 reservation for outdoors as I specified through Open Table. When I arrived they said they couldn't seat us outside. I mentioned the open table reservation and said that was not what they could guarantee. The inside has not been updated in 30 years and most Denny's have nicer seating. Waited 30 minutes as others were already on the waiting list for outside seating. They let large parties go ahead of us because it was a larger table. After finally being seated we had horrible service and the server seamed to expect to provide horrible service. Bread and water was ordered but never came. I had to ask the bus boy who was able to provide it immediately. Our appetizer took an hour to arrive. Calamari was soggy with oil. After waiting two hours for our main dish to arrive, we were served a cold steak. At that point we walked out and told the server the steak was cold. She suggested we leave without paying knowing what a horrible experience we had. There were two weddings taking place and the kitchen and servers are all busy working the wedding and couldn't accommodate those who are not part of the wedding

I have to say I was impressed with the outdoor dining experience. At first we arrived and the interior dining room was sort of dark and the decor was mostly "hotel conference room with bar". But we sat outside on the patio and had a great view. Some of the tables have fires in the center, which is a nice touch. Food (short rips, lamb chops, roast chicken, etc.) was all excellent.

The view is spectacular from the dining terrace of Linwoods grill at the Chaminade Resort. We were attending a family members wedding which also took place out on the terrace. We dined at Linwood two times, once for dinner and again for lunch the next day. The food was very good, presented nicely and large portions. The firepit tables were always occupied as there aren't many available but there is a great view from all of the other dining tables as well. Would highly recommend for a special occasion!

The food was amazing, once we finally got it. It took almost 10 mins just to get a water. It was like pulling teeth to get anything to drink and to order. Once we were able to order food it took almost 2 hours to get the food, once we would re-order drinks if our server was ever around it would take over 30 mins to get a new drink. We ordered desert which took over 30 mins to get and it was only cheesecake- so it shouldn't have taken so long. We waited about 10 mins after asking for the bill and eventually went inside to just be able to pay for it all at once. The server we had only had 2-3 other tables- the other waitresses didn't seem to have any issues with waiting on their tables. It was an extremely disappointing service, especially since I was celebrating my birthday. To top it off the waitress was aware it was my birthday and never even wished me happy birthday let alone offered me anything special. Thankfully the food was amazing but that was it. The service from beginning to end was awful, completely ruined the experience and dinner. I would 100% not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

We ate here for Father's Day Brunch with a 1 PM reservation. The staff seemed overwhelmed and ready to be done. There were many tables outside which needed to be reset and most of us checking in at 1 or later preferred outside seating. And so, by the time we were seated - a 20 minute wait - the hall was full of newcomers who the current diners needed to navigate through to get to and from the buffet; a messy situation.
No waitstaff greeted us of attended to us for 5 minutes after we were seated and so my husband when to the bar to retrieve drinks and we headed to the buffet. Basically the waitstaff occasionally stopped by to offer champagne and for that I gave her $30! Not sure why!
Food seemed like it was well prepared but was a bit picked over by the time we got to the buffet, which was a half hour after we'd arrived.... just not a pleasant visit.
I know it wasn't Mother's Day, but there were no decorations that would have indicated that it was a special day - Father's Day. The rooms were basic 4 walls, tables and chairs. Just not special in any way.
Might come back for the spa or get away; but won't come back for a special holiday.

Nice food, but service wasn't up to the task. Slow and forgetful waiters and confused in dealing/managing the table. Not proper attention to the table.

A few years ago we had our son's wedding reception which was very nice. So we thought it was a great venue to celebrate our 45th wedding anniversary. There was hardly any mention of it by staff and the service was extremely slow. We also did not realize that lunch was strictly a casual menu of sandwiches and salads, so we don't recommend The Chaminade for a special occasion for lunch. I'm sure it's fine for brunch or dinner.

Food seemed rather salty. Service was very leisurely.

the food was ok but could have been better, I would expect a steak salad with caramelized onions to have some warmth mine was cold, and although not the quite the restaurants fault, childern should not be running around like its chucky cheese or a play ground.

Food was only OK. Service was lousy. I had the prime rib. My pet peeve is when a server asks how you would like your steak cooked and then the chef sends out whatever they have. Don't ask me if your not going to bring it to me the temp I asked

Early dinner going to a concert. The view to the ocean was the main attraction. Food was consistent and good, not outstanding. Service was very good.
